I normally don't write reviews but I am going to make an exception this time. I have been going to this salon for over 20 years under different owners and never once had any issues. I have noticed on several occasions that this new owner is not very welcoming and always seems upset and rude to certain customers ( people paying hundreds of dollars) get more respect than people paying $60. As an owner of a company you should treat everyone with respect regardless of how much they spend. read more

I went in for the first time and got a Pomegranate Raspberry pedi and a gel mani... and omg they are so incredible here! First of all, they're so sweet and friendly. Second of all, Lisa did an AMAZINGG leg massage with the hot stones during the pedi. I swear my legs felt like jello after. I highly highly recommend this spot! I've gone to this salon for the last 2 years and I love the tech Rosa. She does great work! I'm not looking for friends at the nail salon, but this place isn't the warmest place. However, the female owner is clearly happy to see some customers more than others. When I went there a month ago for a mani/pedi, the owner started to do my mani as Rosa did my pedi. I was the last appointment and they wanted to leave early... great idea for us all. Well they usually sit your hands in a bowl of water to soften the cuticles, but this time, the owner did not. She put on the cuticle cream, pushed my cuticles back and as she was clipping my cuticles, she nicked my finger and I pulled back. I told her I want water to soften the cuticles and she insisted she couldn't because I'm in the pedi chair and she can't put water there. She said if she doesn't do it, then I'll have to wait even later to do it after the pedi ...When I didn't give my hand back, she walked away, appearing annoyed and speaking in her language. One of the older Asian women came over to finish my mani. She went right to the back and bought out a flat piece of wood to put across the pedi chair to hold the bowl of water to soak my cuticles. The way the owner walked away from me, was very impolite and unprofessional. Customer service is a big problem with many businesses nowadays. There are many nail salons to frequent in Stamford and it doesn't hurt to be nice to all of your customers...Customer Service 101... I'm only giving 2 stars because of Rosa and the lady who did my mani, otherwise it would be a 1. read more

This place went through new ownership since I used their services. Now the latest ownership is simply awful. They replaced several older workers by younger people. I have been going to Floris for over 7 years. Lisa was one of the best manicurist I've had and she was among the ones who was replaced. I did try to continue to be a customer of Floris, however I noticed that the current owners are rude, snippy and some of the others are reflecting the attitudes of the new owners. I had such a lovely experience here this evening. I made an appointment for 5:15 and it was very nice and quiet when I walked in. Lisa promptly took me to her station and began her magic. She warmed my cold hands up with a warm towel while i waited for my gel to come off. She was so precise and took her time ensuring each nail was perfect. We shared a laugh about the name of the color I chose, which was refreshing because most nail techs I've had don't seem too chatty. A member of their team did my nails bad and I came back to get them taken off and they charged me $8 to get them taken off when that person messed up. I will never come back here again. Really poorly run. Made an appointment and waited 25+ minutes before my pedicure began. Manager could have cared less. Guy doing my pedicure was very sloppy and lazy and needed coaching. For example I asked him to cut my nails and he would cut one and hope I didn't notice the others? Then cut my big toe nail on the weirdest angle it looks awful. I went in to get a mani/pedi for myself, and a kids mani for my daughter. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the very best pedicure of my life. She CUT my cuticles (after asking, of course) and I was amazed (and a little grossed out) by jut how much dead skin she got off my feet. She really took her time and even the polish was detailed and perfectly done. The manicure was the same thing. I was amazing how much attention to detail she paid to my cuticles, but also filing my nails into the perfect round shape I asked for. Great first experience here ! Leon did powder dip nails for me and they came out great - he was meticulous and careful but also efficient! They came out thin and natural looking. He also gave a great shoulder massage while they were drying. The only thing I wish is that they had more colors for powder dip for nude and neutral colors. They have a couple but they have sparkles in them, and I love really natural looking nudes with no sparkle. They use sns and one other brand. Powder nails was $40, about the same as the rest of Stamford. I'll definitely be back! Color: medium gray Update: unfortunately the powder gel didn't last. It started chipping and cracking within a week, and by week two every nail was full of these cracks. Maybe because they were so thin and natural looking they were not strong enough? I'm not sure and i don't recall which brand was used. This made me sad since the experience in the salon had been really positive. read more

I left my nail salon of 12 years and gave this place a shot in the spring of 2022. I love it here. Niki always does a great job on my nails.

My nails chipped the next day, which is unusual they usually last 3 weeks :/ bad gel nail quality. I went back yesterday the next day to get it fixed, they took 3 walk in customers before me. I left after 45 minutes, without my nail fixed. Spent $100 there would not recommend. :( read more

This is the best nail salon in Stamford, hands down. I came in on a Saturday and was promptly seated with Lisa. She helped me choose a color - even going so far as to swatch my nails with the colors we were considering to make sure that they would match my skin tone. Lisa did an amazing job in shaping, filing, buffing, and coloring my nails. It's now over a week later and I have no chips in the nails and the color looks great. While my nails were drying I also received a pretty good neck/shoulder massage, which was a definite bonus! I also note that I had no cash on me for tip and didn't see the sign for cash tips only until I was already seated and having my nails done. They didn't give me any qualms whatsoever about tipping on my credit card so I wouldn't have to walk to the bank (it was quite hot!) so I tipped them 50% on the bill for being so considerate. I'm new to the area (moving from Manhattan) and have been looking for a great nail salon, comparable to NYC. I've gotten 2 gel manicures from Floris; the first was very bumpy and bubbly and the second was great. I just called at 4:30 to run in for a gel manicure and pedicure and they said it was too late as they close at 6 but wanted to close earlier today. I think it's unprofessional to just randomly close early. No worries though, I went across the street to Mint and they're great! And cheaper! Sooo...Floris' loss. read more

I've gone here a few times now and it's truly because it's local and convenient, but every time I go I wind up spending way too much money and not being pleased at all. Their regular manicure only last about 2-3 days, so recently I'd decided to get a gel manicure. They said it should last 3 weeks -$35 and 4 days later my nail is chipped. This was supposed to be for Thanksgiving and the holiday hasn't even arrived yet. Not to mention their options for color are simply disappointing. Sorry to say this place is a NO GO for me unless your want to sit there while the owner gets up and down to answer the phone to take appointments and you wait....been going there for months and the quality of products is awful. Decided to take off my powder and omg my nails were totally destroyed. Went to a much better European quality salon that uses high end products and the price was in the place and beautiful nails. Lasts 4 weeks. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. These people could care less. read more

I struggled whether or not to try it out. The Yelp reviews are very hit or miss. But I was getting tired of going to Manhattan to get gel nails done. So one Saturday morning I walked in. My first experience was a very good one. Walked in for gel manicure. Didn't expect much. Most salons just do gel badly, and don't even use the high end stuff CalGel. First surprise was decent color selection, but I stuck with brands I know like Essie, OPI, and that narrowed it down. Pretty decent manicure and gel application. Two weeks later it still looks pretty good. Ended up doing gel pedicure as well since they were available. The pedicure is fantastic! They applied the gel first. Then they did the Pedi spa, paraffin treatment on the heels, scrub on the legs, and lotion. I really didn't expect so many services, in Manhattan a 'basic pedicure' literally is that and you pay $50+ for anything more. I paid $45 for gel Pedi which I thought was really reasonable. $30 for gel mani which is the standard rate but I was happy with the service. I like the store - it's airy, open and bright. I liked the staff. I'm coming back so I hope it keeps going well! read more
