While they are local and not too far from me, I'd have them shipped my orders to me with free shipping $100+, and they also give away or make it easy to acquire generous promo coupons. Artist Julie Nutting has released a lot of signature doll poses per line that she releases per year, that I've come to like and be able to use- which makes the free shipping offer and coupon offer a good deal. I'd pre-order and pay the discount bundle rate. They have a spreadsheet system that keeps the pre-order / in-stock orders all organized to be sure to ship everything in a timely manner without messing up the orders. They ship in a box as per customer request and enclose a printed receipt for pre-order and in-stock shipments, to show that they and the customers are in-tune with the orders going out and coming in. All of my orders so far have arrived undamaged in every way. In my last order, I noticed that I didn't have the (in-stock) stamp that go with the die I purchased that I thought I had, so when I quickly e-mailed them to request to merge the pre-order and in-stock orders to include the stamp instead of placing a new order, they told me they could do that. I let them know that I was willing to wait for the in-stock stamp to arrive at the same time as pre-order at a later date, if I wanted to include the revised order w/in the free shipping and not pay extra to ship the stamp (which I would've gotten much sooner). So, I am appreciative that they and I were in cohesion, since I'd read some businesses don't merge and ironically often tell customers who left out something to place another order and pay extra. At the end of each order, they offer Reward points based on your totals. They also hold an annual Warehouse Sale at their physical warehouse. Note: They are not a store to browse/shop in but rather, a "warehouse" where customers show up during the open hours to pick up their orders. And, they also have pickups at their Scottsdale meetups. So, if your orders are large, free shipping is feasible, right? The staff was helpful, encouraging, and created a really laid-back craft experience. Tips if you go: * Plan for about 4 hours for a small rug. * If it's your first time, keep your design simple--straight lines are much easier than curves. * Be prepared for tired arms and hands by the end! * If you're using the stencil projector, Apple phones seemed to connect better than other types of phones. * Bring some jams--music definitely makes the 4 hours more enjoyable. * Bring something to drink because 4 hours is a long time! Pros: Overall, it was a fun, creative, and completely new learning experience. There's a lot of talking, problem-solving, and figuring things out together while you work, so I could also see this being a really fun date-night activity. Cons: It was a little pricey at $80+ per rug. My biggest issue is the size--you end up with roughly a 1' × 1' rug, and I'm still trying to figure out what you actually do with it. It's a little too small for practical floor use and kind of heavy for wall décor. Maybe just the right size for a very firm seat cushion... lol. It's always held Valentine's weekend so I'll never forget when to anticipate it. I decided to come around 6ish AM, and the doors open at 8 AM on Sunday. If you decide to wait early before doors open, keep in mind they don't open their indoor restrooms to the public. I did need to use the restroom while I was in line and you only have access to port-a-potties that don't have sinks to wash your hands. It wasn't very sanitary and the smell inside was putrid. I'm hoping there's a way we can use the indoor bathrooms next time. Coming in to the event, you're given a map so you don't get lost, there's a host on the mic that walks you through the process, and there are volunteers everywhere who can help you find what you're looking for and get checked out! I was blown away by all the genres they were carrying. I thought for an event like this I'd have to come super early but even with the place packed it was still breathable. I was completely shocked that the price of all the books I got came to only $30. I believe Sundays, books are half-price when they're already cheap. If I were to go to a Barnes and Noble, I would've only been able to get about 2-3 books with that price. I believe I got at least 20 books. What an amazing way to support the community while getting books at the lowest you'll probably ever be able to snag them at.

The biggest issue was the lack of real instruction. The hosts mainly pointed us to written directions and spent more energy upselling their extra products than actually guiding the class. For something marketed as a workshop, I expected more hands-on teaching. The Turkish delight and tea were a nice touch, very good, in fact, but they didn't arrive until nearly the end of the session, which felt oddly timed. On top of that, the project itself is more than you can realistically finish in the allotted time, so you end up taking it home to complete. I'm glad I did it once because I got to share the experience with friends, but next time we'll probably just buy the supplies and figure it out ourselves. Three stars for the fun company, tasty treats, and the idea, but with more instruction and less sales pitch, it could have been so much better

I would have spent so much money b/c I am new to pottery and need so many things. But, I can get EVERYTHING cheaper on Amazon. No-one offered to help us out with our items (we are seniors) and frankly the staff were rude. Stay away from this place. Dick Blick is WAY better....or Amazon. Trust me. I have never felt more uninvited or BORED!!!!!
