What I appreciated about Tony is that he said he would try easier fixes and escalate as necessary to fix the problem. A few other plumbers I talked to wanted to start knocking holes in the walls to address the leak. Tony was able to address the leak through the spout opening in the shower area, thus preventing wall damage. He also treated the wet area for mold and installed a small vent in the wall which is hardly noticeable. The whole ordeal cost me $175. I do not have much history with plumbing repair costs, but I believe that is a pretty good deal.

In addition they helped with the installation of a Moen Flo Smart Water Shutoff in my home. It was built in 2007 using Kitec plastic piping, which has a history of rupturing at connections. They knew about this issue had had a stock of non-corrosive connectors that worked with the existing Kitec pipes. They did a great job, showed up when they said they would, and did a great job of explaining the whole process. In this new world where private equity companies are buying up local plumbing/AC/electrical services companies and squeezing us with higher prices and low quality service by inexperienced (cheap) workers, it's nice to know and use small, family-owned businesses like Flint Plumbing. He noticed that the vent on our water heater had disconnected, and was venting carbon monoxide into our home!!! He jumped up and reconnected and secured the vent. Then he went and checked the downstairs water heater and showed me that the last plumber that replaced that water heater made a short cut with that vent and had it going to the outside wall instead of the proper vent pipe that goes to the roof. He was appalled at that, and fixed it right away. He did great work at a reasonable price and probably saved our lives. I've now ordered a CO detector. Scary.
