    Water leaks
    Josh C.

Thunderbird is still my go to plumber. They are well loved by our neighbors and it's because they are prompt and affordable. We had a lot of issues recently. They fixed our leaking water main and replaced our pressure regulator that was old since the yard was dug up. Then they came back and fixed our tiny leak that made a spot in our master closet. They came out quick and still were very affordable.

His prices for parts were a bit on the high side, so my bill was slightly higher than anticipated because we needed lots of, yes... parts. However, he came the next morning at 8:00 a.m. Is very professional, and courteous and I felt comfortable with him. He also did an excellent job and left the space clean. I'll pay extra for that. And next time, maybe I won't need parts, ha! Truly--highly recommend.

Honestly the work is good...as it should be from a master plumber…read more The issue I have is the issue I've had with literally every plumber ever. They've got you over a barrel when they come out and start throwing parts. This was an install of a drop in kitchen sink and faucet. He told me his hourly rate was 135 bucks. I was expecting to spend about 400 maybe 500. The final bill was 850. I feel I was overcharged on both the parts and labor. He charged me starting 45 min before he got there but still included a "truck charge." The removal and replace of the sink took 2 hours. To me the "clock" starts on the labor at the agreed upon arrival time. When I'm getting charged 439(!) bucks for parts on top of the sink and faucet itself, that extra charge for labor is quite unwelcome. I mean the sink and faucet itself that were "nice" were like 500 bucks. So almost that again just in parts. ‍ His answer in general as I look at these reviews is that he buys his parts from a plumber supply not Home Depot etc. I would have to research each individual part to see if its price point is "fair". A perusal of solid brass fittings and pvc p traps on the Lowe's site shows the price I paid was about doubled. He acted quite insulted that I wouldn't know just how much better his parts were and implied they were all but unavailable at big box stores. literally doubling what I expected to pay was quite a shock to say the least. It is what it is. If I was able to do it myself, I would've. Live and learn Learn a trade kids lol

Exceptional O & Plumbing Service Experience…read more I highly recommend O & M Plumbing for any plumbing needs. In particular, Chris F. has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism on every project of mine. His attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship set him apart as a truly outstanding plumber. Project Background I recently purchased an older home, full of charm and distinctive bathrooms. However, I encountered a leak in the master shower that required the p-trap under the shower drain to be replaced before new tile work could be completed. My concern was that reconnecting the new p-trap to the antique cast iron drains in the foundation might cause the cast iron to crumble. Chris F.'s Approach and Solutions Chris came to the rescue, using a camera down the drain to evaluate the situation. He explained the difference between what was probable and what was possible, providing two bids: one for the probable good case and one for the possible problem case. Having used Chris before with excellent results, I trusted his methods, which are always the least intrusive and focused on effective access. In the worst-case scenario, Chris would need to cut and excavate a 2' x 2' hole in the foundation around the shower drain, then tunnel no more than five feet under the foundation from that access point to secure a solid connection to the iron drainpipe. In the best-case scenario, he would only need to excavate a 2' x 2' hole around the shower drain to replace and secure the new p-trap. He also showed me pictures of his past work for reassurance. Successful Outcome Fortunately, the best-case and probable case prevailed. While fixing the p-trap, Chris also discovered an unrelated drain leak under the foundation, which he repaired at no extra charge. I felt I received excellent value for the service provided. Professionalism and Work Quality Chris left the work site clean, as he has always done in the past. He and his co-worker collaborated well, using a small and quiet jackhammer designed specifically for plumbing foundation work. The new drain looks beautiful, and I can confidently proceed with the new tile work, knowing that the unseen part of the shower is sound and affordable. Appreciation Thanks to O & M Plumbing for introducing me to Chris F. and Mike. Both are good and considerate professionals, and I am grateful to have them working in my home.

    Altruistic AC & Heating

    Altruistic AC & Heating

    (49 reviews)

Altruistic Heating and Cooling exceeded our expectations during a stressful time…read more When the AC in a rental unit I manage went out during one of the hottest times of the year, I had to act quickly. After discovering that our usual AC guy was unavailable, I gathered estimates from several companies. The prices were shockingly high, so I created a detailed spreadsheet comparing different systems, pricing, discounts, rebates, and warranties. Out of all the companies, Altruistic Heating and Cooling stood out by offering the best price--thousands less than the others. They also went above and beyond by providing a portable AC unit to keep the tenants comfortable until the installation, which was a huge relief. While some companies tried to pressure me with last-minute offers and discounts, Altruistic's straightforward approach and reasonable pricing made the decision easy. They even included a free bonus service of two maintenance calls per year for four years. The installation went smoothly, and although I had to follow up to ensure the job was fully completed, Altruistic responded quickly and finished everything as promised. They had left a note in the final invoice saying, "We need to return some time (date removed) to install the flue pipe." As a property manager, I expect to handle follow-ups, so this wasn't a major issue for me. But I followed up with them to get this done before we made the payment. Although I felt Altruistic had been very trustworthy, I know people who have been burned by other companies after paying in full before the job was completed, so I wanted to make sure it was completely done. Daniel from the office contacted me, and they ensured everything was finished before I made the final payment. Overall, I'm very satisfied with Altruistic Heating and Cooling. They provided excellent service, great value, quality workmanship and their customer service was top-notch. I highly recommend them to anyone needing AC services. Follow-up: months later when winter weather arrived and the heat wasn't coming on, I called them in the evening expecting to hear back the next morning. They called me right away that evening and went out to the property first thing the next morning and fix the problem with no charge. I love it when companies do what they say they'll do and warranty their work.

Worst company you could possibly call. I would strongly recommend staying away from this company…read more They came to my house to fix an issue with my AC, and less than two months later, I was having the exact same problem. They came back out and supposedly fixed it. During that visit, they also dumped what looked like a whole bucket of rusty water directly into the middle of my driveway, leaving a large stain. While the technician was cleaning the outside AC unit, she apparently pinched some of the wiring when she put everything back together. A couple of hours later, the AC stopped working completely. I called the company, and she came back out. Somehow, she "missed" the wiring issue that she had caused and told me I needed a new fan motor that was going to cost me $1,200. I called the owner/boss and explained what happened. They refused to take responsibility for the problem and told me I would have to pay for the repair. I called another AC company the following morning. The technician immediately found the problem: the wiring had been pinched. He fixed it for about $50 in actual repair work, plus a $175 emergency service fee. So instead of the $1,200 repair I was told I needed, the actual problem was something that took very little to fix. Unfortunately, that's not even the worst part. During the first visit, the technician asked if I wanted her to give my phone number to another company they work with because I needed some moldy drywall taken care of. I said yes. That company never called me, and I never contacted them. Despite that, they showed up at my house while I was out of town. There was a nurse at my house caring for my daughter, who has special needs. The nurse told them she didn't know they were coming and that she was not the homeowner. They proceeded to enter my home anyway and went into my attic. That is completely unacceptable. Between the poor workmanship, attempting to charge me $1,200 for a problem they caused, refusing to take responsibility, damaging/staining my driveway, and a separate company showing up unannounced and entering my home while I wasn't there after being told they weren't expected, I would not trust this company anywhere near my home again. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.
