Stang's has always been a Village staple. You can never go wrong with anything on their menu. And the employees are always very friendly and accommodating. This place is a "lifesaver" in that the area doesn't really have food food. My family and I were super hungry and didn't want to drive to the other side of Corte Madera for food. It was the holiday season and parking was hard to begin with. There is Boudin's and I believe maybe cafe type food... but yeah, happy there were at least hot dogs. The menu has a variety of hot dogs and drinks/chips. Price is a bit pricey but at least they add the toppings for you. I guess compared to the other food around, I can't complain. Make sure to know what toppings you want when you order. There's plenty of seating and even though there is a line sometimes, it's pretty efficient. I enjoyed my hot dog. read more

Stang's is a food stall in the outdoor Village Shopping Center in Corte Madera, CA. They serve up quality dogs and sausages. Ya know, the kind that snaps when you bite into 'em because of the quality casing. Delicious. The outdoor shopping center has high end retailers. The center can be seen off the Highway and easy enough to get to. I'm not a local and rarely shop here. Stang's is the only reason I make a stop. The stand is near Nordstroms. The dogs are $7/ combo $10.25. They offer 4 different kinds of sausage from $8.25/ combo $12.75. They even have a vegan sausage option. The dogs are stadium length. Combos include a bag of chips and a canned drink. I've had no issues with the staff, all great encounters. Stang's has a gated outdoor dining area. Since the stand is minimally staffed, they may not have the time to clean the dining area. Understandably so. Right next to Stang's patio, there are shopping center community tables. Those tables are maintained by the shopping center cleaning crew. Plus there are trash and recycling bins close by making it easier for folks to pick up after themselves. read more

It's not four stars due to the tables being a little dirty, the lack of indoor seating (don't come if it's raining), and the service was not very professional (despite me being the only customer). All the Toppings are available for you to add in at your liking, just let the person at the register know. Takes around 5-10 mins for the food to be ready, definitely depends on how busy they are. I'd almost forgotten how delicious Stang's is! I came here (the shopping center) to work with my dog on her manners and decided to get lunch. The aroma drew my pup to Stang's and I couldn't argue. There was a short line that moved quickly and we got our hot dog in no time. Great food and even better service. We sat where she could practice her manners and not be too tempted by the amazing aromas (or was that for me?). It was a crisp day and they were doing a great business. Me and my baboo wanted to try this little hot dog shop in the middle of the mall and thank fucking god we did. It was so good! The bun tasted fresh, the hot dog had a snap to it and was most likely fresh as well just by how it tasted. I forgot to take a photo before I started munching on it but I remembered half way through. The service was very nice as well. :) It's outdoor seating and there's a lot of nice options to sit. I've been coming here for the past 8 years as I used to manage True Religion Jeans at the Village at Corte Madera (now closed). During lunchtime, I would stroll down to the center of the village and purchase a chicken apple sausage, load it up with ketchup and sprinkle it with onions and I'm enjoying my meal! Even though I left working at the mall ages ago, I still come to Stangs to enjoy my chicken apple. Came here again yesterday afternoon as this is my first time this year and every time it hits the spot! With a drink and a bag of chips, it comes to $9.25. I love this little hot dog stand in the middle of the outdoor mall! You can smell the hot dogs cooking as you walk through the mall! In fact, it's the intoxicating smell that led me to them.. Mmmmm.... hot diggity dog! I've tried their chili dog, it was good but if you just get there regular hot dog and put the sweet relish, sauerkraut, onions, ketchup & mustard... and add a Corona to drink! Tastiness!!!! The Corona is in a can and I don't even like Corona in a can haha! But the two goes well together just saying! They have an organic grass fed hot dog that I overheard the guy working there said it was his favorite. I'll have to try that one next time! I hope there's some sordid story to explain how Marin's most upscale mall got a hot dog stand in its center. The hot dogs here are Niman Ranch and Prather Ranch varieties with no Oscar Meyer in sight but what drew me to stop was the $4 Frito Pie. For this, they slice open lengthwise, a single serve bag of Frito's then top with chili, cheese, and a plastic fork. Chopped onions and pickled jalapenos are optional, self serve additions from the clean condiment bar but you'd be seriously amiss to disregard them. Eat standing up at the counters on either side of the stand. It's quick, sort of fast-food delicious, and you can be back in those stores spending real $$$ in no time flat. After they got rid of the food court in order to make the shopping center more bourgie, which indeed it is. The Village shopping center is in Marin, one of the wealthiest areas so it makes sense for them to remove food courts which being in more loiterers. Anyhow, hot dog is good but very mediocre. I like to decorate the whole thing with sauerkraut, brown mustard, and ketchup. You can also get free grilled onions (if you ask for it). My advice: ask for it!
