Paid $900 to have two rugs taken away, cleaned, and returned. Crew missed the promised return delivery window and didn't call, it was only after I called them and spent a prolonged period of time on hold that I was informed that both of the rugs were not ready to be returned. This was unsatisfactory and frustrating given I had arranged to be away from work for the delivery. I was also promised a call by a supervisor that never happened. On the new delivery day, the crew went to the incorrect address, and much confusion and additional time on hold with a centralized Stanley Steemer call center ensued. The rugs came back clean, but what it took in terms of effort, hassle, time on hold, inconvenience, all with a surprising level of Stanley Steemer indifference over what was very clearly a significant customer service failure on their part, in my opinion is not worth it. I will look elsewhere the next time I need area rugs cleaned. read more

I'm very satisfied with the service I received. The two men were here right on time and I received a call telling me they were on their way. They were very polite and did a great job. They mentioned other services, but weren't pushy about them. They didn't make a mess in the rest of the house and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use them again. Carpeting looks great. The only gripe I have is that the 1-800 guy didn't tell me that I needed to pay for carpet protection as the deep cleaning removes this. The guy who was here told me this so I had to spend extra for this - would have been better if I was told this on the phone. read more

Well, I read some bad reviews on here, but I had a great experience. These guys were on time, though I had hoped for them to get there earlier, but they were in and out and did an outstanding job. Cleaning itself was okay. Crew lead tried to sell additional services beyond what I signed up for, like odor removal for the carpet and furniture cleaning. I thought the odor removal a good idea because of a pet, and had two couches that were particularly dirty. Tried getting cost for those services, prior to him starting, but that didn't happen. The services were performed okay, but were way more than I expected. If I had known how much the couches were going to cost, I would not have done it. I think that it was dishonest to start doing the work without quoting the price. read more

I have been having different carpets cleaned for 28 years and I have used many companies. OVERALL MOST OF THEM DON'T DO THAT GREAT OF A JOB. These guys came in and were extremely professional, friendly and personable. THE JOB WAS DONE WELL BUT OF COURSE i KNOW MOEW IN 3 WEEKS TO SEE IF THE STAINS COME BACK. I would highly recommend this crew, they were terrific. The carpets look brand new! I will review again in a few weeks to see if the job holds. read more

Gotta agree with those low scores. I tried Stanley based on recommendation of a neighbor. Boy, was I sorry. She must have had a better cleaning crew because ours was lousy. Carpet actually looked worse after they got done. Their "spot treatment" was to spray the spot a couple seconds before they "steamed" it. Didn't remove any spots. The carpet did not look any cleaner and looked awful because the wetting changed the texture... looked and felt stiff. Even vacuuming didn't help return it to its previous texture. What a disappointment after going through all the time and trouble of moving all our stuff so they could clean! So I took matters into my own hands...treated the spots in my problem area with Resolve, then used my little Bissell carpet cleaner. What a difference, the spots were almost totally removed, the carpet looked cleaner and fresher, and felt softer...even without vacuuming. Don't waste your time and money. I've already told one friend not to use Stanley. If you can't depend on getting a good cleaning crew, it doesn't make sense to hire them. read more

I orders upholstery cleaning .. Sofa 2 chairs and 6 dinning room chairs ... And protection $315- After 20 off promo I live on the 3rd floor so they had to bring cleaning unit to the third floor. Crew come unprepared ... I ask to them to take shies off or wear shoe covers .. They forgot ...left foot prints all over .., finally went and got shoe covers... They didn't move any furniture around started cleaning chairs and sofa right on the wool area rug...during the cleaning water was spraying all over ... I told gift to atom and brought water proof pad and towel ... So they can roll the cleaning unit on and move chairs one by one on the pad and clean that way ... None of the stains come off ... I asked them if the need the origin of the staining order to remove it ... The said they use one universal cleaning solution for furniture..., and this the best it's going to be . I took cleaning into my ine hands and brought them special cleaning solutions for oil, wine and crayons stains ... Sprayed everything and told them to shut off the system and wait 15 min so cleaners to work. Afterwards stains started to come off .. I tmd them to redo the job 3 times until I saw the result ... They didn't care or were proactive ... Very passive cleaning approach but very quick to offer new services that thru have no idea how to do. It's a day two ... Furniture looks nice ... But it's not worth the mess and lock of understanding of the level of clearness customer expects when orders the services read more

I've been using Stanley Steemer for probably 10 years now, but those days are over. Apart from the fact that the cleaning crew showed up 20 minutes after the "window" I was given (with no explanation or apology), this particular crew was a mess! They tracked in dirt going in and out of my house to clean the carpet in my finished basement (I even found a pair of their little booties--unused--after they left). After inspecting the carpet and being assured that the darker areas on my carpet were just "wet" they were actually dirt marks from the "cleaners" dirty shoes that I was able to clean up on my own with a little soap and water. The final straw that broke the camel's back was the fact that it took them TWENTY MINUTES to put a credit card through their machine because it was not working properly, and they had to keep turning it off and on to get it work. When I suggested that maybe they just call in my cc information I was told "they will just tell me to use this machine." Needless to say, I will not be using them again. read more

Total catastrophe. I ordered additional service which was the protector for the carpets. Instead of the regular machine on the truck (which was broken by the way) they used a hand spray. I was watching the guy spraying here and there with this small manual spray, it was ridiculous. I called the company to report this that I did not received the service that I paid for. This service is normally done with the machine. They promised to send me a gift card from the corporate office for $69.00 within 3 weeks.That was on December 21st, 2014. I have never received the gift card. Today is April 29th, 2015 and I have been trying to get in touch with supervisors for last 3 days leaving them messages and sending them emails. People who answers phone calls cannot do anything without supervisor's approval. This is so annoying that you cannot get in touch with anybody who can make an decision, I have already invested too much time in recovering my money. Customer service = 0 stars. I had Stanley Steemer come out right before Christmas to clean three small rooms and a stairway. It was the worst cleaning, if you can even call it cleaning, I have ever experienced. Two young men showed up, they moved no furniture in the three rooms the spent approximately 40 minutes total. They claimed to put down a protectant to keep the carpet from getting dirty, well I guess it worked in reverse. Once the carpet dryed it was just as dirty as when they came to "clean" it. The carpet today is dirtier than it has ever been. So basically I spent $183 just to have someone come in and wet my carpet! Because they did not clean anything. Customer Service? I think not. I take my car for an oil change and the next week the company is calling to see how their service was. Stanley Steemer, no call, no post card NOTHING. I guess they already know the crappy work their employees do, so no need to ask the customer. One star is pushing it, I would not recommend Stanley Steemer to clean a dog house let a lone a house for humans. read more

I have used Stanley Steemer twice and each time they have broken something in my home. Last year, they took a huge chunk out of my coffee table leg and didn't bother to mention it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them again this year. Not only where there still spots on the carpet that they clearly didn't clean, but they broke the sink that they hooked up their equipment to. The guy told me (after they had finished cleaning), that the sink was broke before he hooked his equipment to it. My first question was, "then why did you hook it up to it?" Needless to say, it was not broken and had never leaked before. I called the next day to complain and the rude manager states that they can't be responsible for an issue that they did not cause but he would have someone come out and look. Someone came out on the following Saturday (before xmas) and said that it was probably something that they caused with the equipment and the manager would call me no later than Monday to set up a time to repair it or I may need to call a plumber to fix it if they couldn't and Stanley Steemer would reimburse me. I called three times on Monday and never talked to this "manager." He finally called on Tuesday and said that they can't fix it but he checked and they would send me a check for $120. I had a plumber come out on xmas eve and it cost me $338 for the "minor" repair he could do but he has to come back out to take the entire sink out to fix it. Because it was the day before xmas I told him I would have to wait because I was having company and I didn't want that bathroom messed up. He turned off the water to the sink, I paid the $338 and he states he will come back after the New Year to fix the sink so it will work. As of 12/30, I still have not received my "check" from Stanley Steemer nor heard from them. I would never recommend they to do any work for me EVER. For the $230 and the amount that I have spent so far for the repair from them, I could have bought a carpet cleaner. Don't go to them if you value anything in your home. read more
