I brought my vehicle to Stan's in May of this year (2024), and I had a friendly enough visit with the staff here an had an alignment done. I came in letting them know I was having an issue with a minor wobble at highway speeds (nothing crazy). After getting an alignment here and ruling out other issues (brakes, suspension, tire balance), months later I had my alignment checked at another shop. The alignment was completely out of whack, yet no work had been done since the alignment. An alignment was performed at the new shop after replacing my inner tie rods because the adjustment nuts were SEIZED. A proper alignment can only be done by adjusting these nuts, which was not done. I was also not notified by the shop that these needed replacing. My toe was adjusted improperly by the shop, and the wobble continued. After the proper alignment was done, NO WOBBLE. The purpose of visiting an alignment shop to get an alignment done is to get a proper alignment, not to have my money taken from me without even a notice that something prevented them from properly doing the alignment. I emailed the shop a couple weeks ago to hopefully get some clarification, and I have received no response. Just for some proof, I've attached pictures of 1/2 of the tie rods that were replaced to show how much force it took the shop to get them out, as well as the alignment chart that is accurate to how they aligned my vehicle in May. I set an appointment for a front end alignment a few days in advance. Alignment is perfect now, for a great price! Better pricing than the big shops! They also offered to torque down hardware that I had recently been messing with during a suspension overhaul - and thank goodness they did! The first time I used Stan's Anthony was outstanding. I took my 2019 Mitsubishi outlander sport in for a 60 thousand mile maintenance. Whoever replaced the air filters put the one for the engine in upside down and forced it in breaking one of the clips holding the housing together so it popped open and the car was making a loud noise when I accelerated. When he installed the cabin filter he broke a piece off in the glove compartment that the dealer is quoting me $2500.00 to replace. Anthony is not returning my calls. Went in to get a strut assembly put together. Staff were friendly so not sure if it was a one off, however the job was completed prior to giving me a quote, the spring was misaligned the first time around and when i got it back after that was fixed, the coil spring insulation was ripped and misaligned. They did a great job and worked with me to get the car perfect, even down to getting the camber set perfectly to what I wanted. Scam alert! My dad works for Denver Place garage and sent me to Stan's to get an alignment on my boyfriends Toyota FJ. Stan's came highly recommended. However, after getting the alignment done on the vehicle, someone came outside I don't know if it was Stan or not, and told me that my boyfriend needed in entire new strut system or whatever they are called on his Toyota FJ. After taking the vehicle back to my father, who works at the Denver Place garage, he confirmed that in fact the FJ was just fine. The person at Stan's told me that the vehicle wasn't safe to drive for much more and encouraged me to sell it. Honestly, I think he wanted to buy it because Toyota FJs are worth a pretty penny. The guy at Stan's probably didn't know that my dad was a mechanic for the Denver police garage and thought that he was pulling one over on me. Avoid this place at all costs read more

I had my BMW to the BMW dealership two different times because it had a rattle in the right front part of the car. BMW couldn't find it even after I went with them on a test drive (plus you have to tolerate their snooty attitude.) I took the car to Stan's Alignment and they found the rattle and fixed it in one day. The annoyance is gone but more importantly, it was a tie rod. When a tie rod comes apart, you lose control over your car. A loose tie rod not only causes tire wear, but it is a major safety problem. I can't say enough good things about the people at Stan's who know what they are doing. read more

This shop had to fix up my old stolen pickup truck. Mechanically, they got it running fine. They also replaced the battery cables. Following this they failed to sort out why the battery was discharging and simply said it was a bad battery which I had just replaced. The thieves also destroyed the glove box which wouldn't shut. With the glove box open the light inside it remained illuminated. It was an obvious oversight. I spent a good chunk of change for them to miss this easily remedied problem that I ended up sorting out myself. I have to give them two stars for missing this and telling me the battery was bad when it wasn't. read more

When I went to get my new tires from Discount Tires, they told me I had an alignment issue with my car. Discount Tires referred is to Stan's; however, being stubborn, we tried Brakes Plus first. Learning the hard way that we should've listened to the pros, we stumbled upon Stan's. They made it easy to make the appointment. It's in a sketchy area, but it's near a pretty good Mexican restaurant. While you wait for your car, you can enjoy lunch. They did an alignment for all four wheels, even though I have a front-wheel drive. Paid $68.50, with great workmanship! No complaints here, have great integrity and no pressures of getting hassled for services that were unnecessary. This place is highly recommended for those with issues. Check them out! read more

Was referred here by my usual mechanic at Big O for an alignment on a motor home based on the Ford E-450 chassis. Many shops can't handle the 26' length, the 11.5' height, or both, and lack the expertise to change caster cams on these old-school beasts. They got my RV in within minutes of my appointment time, and completed the work, including an oil change, in about two hours, barely giving me time to walk to the nearest coffee shop (Coffee Canaan, in the MLK Library 5 blocks east on Colfax), enjoy a beverage, and walk back. I am very happy with the results: my ungainly land yacht now drives like I hoped, cornering better and not wandering when going straight. Poor communication. The service/repairs are fine, but could be done anywhere and will be from now on. I've incurred more costs due to their poor communication, I've been hung up on by the manager of the shop rather than answer my questions. I was told by the manager, point blank, that he is not going to talk to me about my vehicle because "last Friday is in the past". I was told by a representative that she absolutely DID NOT have a conversation with me about my vehicle in the same sentence that she told me she is 100% sure of what she said in the conversation that she didn't have. I was recommended Stan's by the guys at brakes plus as their alignment machine can't adjust to specific tolerances that I needed for a BMW X5 M. Stan's got me an appointment right away and before I even saw them pull the car in they were working on it. Alignment was out of spec and they were able to bring it to the specs I wanted so the outside of the front tires don't wear. They even knew the specs! The true test of a biz is how they handle things after the sale. I noticed that the car drove a lot better, but that my steering wheel had to be turned left slightly to go straight. I'm a bit of a perfectionist with anything that drives so it bothered me. I brought it back a few days later, they quickly adjusted it and now it's perfect. The service here is great! Super friendly family owned small business that is becoming an endangered species these days. I drive a lifted 97 4Runner and alignments aren't easy to do correctly on these things. I used to go to Firestone because I had an unlimited lifetime alignment program, but they always struggled to get it right, and no matter when I would make an appointment I'd always have to wait at least a couple of hours, if not more. So what's the point of having an appointment, right? I decided to try Stan's after getting a referral card from Discount down the street. I needed the alignment because I just replaced some steering related parts on my truck the previous day, and the longer I drove without an alignment the worse I'd trash my tires. I called Stan's around 9:30 and was able to get in at 2 the same day. I showed up at 2, they were working on it by 2:15, and I was out the door with a very well aligned 4Runner by 3:15! The price was great too! $50 is worth it for the service and knowing they have a lot of experience with lifted trucks. read more

The workers here were rude and nasty for no reason. The mechanic (Derek) said my car needed to have the clutch replaced - at a cost worth more than the actual vehicle itself. Because of the poor customer service, and shady way Stan's added on after the fact diagnostic fees, I was not trusting of this place, so had my Honda taken to another mechanic. Turns out, my car didn't even need a new clutch! The hydraulics needed repairing, which caused the clutch to not shift gears. The repair cost was a third of the estimate Stan's had given to replace the clutch. The mechanic that repaired my car said the clutch was a little worn, but not in need of replacing. He also said any knowledgeable mechanic should have known that the clutch pedal being completely to the floor indicates a hydraulic problem and that there was no way to even know if the clutch needed to be replaced until the hydraulics were repaired. My (son's) car runs fine now. Don't go to Stan's - unless you want poor service and costly repairs you don't even need. read more

I have been using Stan's for about 6 or 7 years now. They do good work at a reasonable fee. I am sorry to see some poor reviews. I have never felt that work was recommended that didn't need to be done. My car is 11 years old and I pull a trailer all summer. I take it in yearly for a "physical" to make sure I have a safe summer. Sure, some of the work is expensive, but it's an older vehicle that works hard! The front desk receptionist (Barb?) is very sensitive to women coming into the shop and I feel like she understands how vulnerable I feel not knowing about vehicles. Give them a try! read more

This place is boss. I was recommended Stan's and I now know why. Scheduled my appointment the day before for 1pm. The drive over was the sketchiest drive of my life because I just installed some suspension parts, lower control arms if you cared, to my car so the rear alignment was wayyyyy off. When I arrived I was well taken care of. Staff was nice and took care of my wants. My car was done with a 4 wheel performance alignment to my specifications. The tech got my car to the exact specifications I asked for. I actually stood in the bay while it was going on. The tech was fast, about 30 minutes for a 4 wheel performance align that was wayyy off when I brought it in. He was really good at his job, obviously. I will go back to Stan's anytime I need an alignment done, that is for sure. read more

I broke down a hundred miles outside of Limon. My wheel came off at 70 miles an hour and I could have died. I was left on the side of the highway with no place to go. I first went to Stan's brakes and alignment when I was 16 years old and started driving home now 78 shows you how long ago I went there I remember the owners they always the good work fair price still behind what they did probably went there 20 times between the age of 16 and 26 and I moved away when I came back to Aurora I thought that's the place to go to have Car work done took A car in to have a brakes done they charge a fair price did the work paid for the work drove off thinking great I have new brakes and everything is fine by the way discovered the family no longer owned Stans brake and alignment that was fine family sold it next day I noticed I was on a highway 225 I'm hearing noise from my left rear tire and rattling in the car cut off the highway luckily on Colfax found the Lugnuts weren't tight and tire the studs were damaged the rim was damaged tighten the best I could've drove there as slow as I could I was very upset or I could've gotten in an accident could've died killed other people they fixed it put new studs on the drum gotta use rim replaced it but her attitude was like well that happens it's happened before it'll happen again probably that's just the help we can get I thought I can't believe you don't double check your work when you go to Discount Tires these guys have a great system one person puts the Lugnuts on Another person takes a torque wrench and checksum making sure they're tight they even have managers walking around supervising the work something I discovered Stan doesn't care about if you take your car and make sure your life insurance is paid up in your Health insurance because you may die I had another bad experience with Stans after that I thought well I'll give them another chance to be continued read more

Twenty years later I hit a pothole that required an alignment, and unconnected to these events, at the same time I found Stan's card, over twenty years old, among my father's things.
