This is a truly terrible place. Would not recommend it at all. My 75 year old mother took her car to Stan's for her brakes. They told her that someone put the wrong brake fluid in her car, which supposedly ruined the whole break system, and it would cost $920.00 to fix. She said that the whole car was not worth that much. So the people at Stan's told her she should sign the title and they would have it crushed. We called Firestone and they said there is no wrong brake fluid, break fluid would not have caused any damage. Firestone offered to check the car for free and fix the brakes. I would give this place 4.5 stars if possible- the people here are friendly, helpful and straightforward, as well as very well-priced. I had called around to about 5 different places before one of my friends suggested checking out Stan's and they quoted me at about $40-50 cheaper on labor, as well as included a year long warranty on labor and parts (most others were maybe 3 months labor, 1 year parts). Also, I had thought I needed an alignment on my car due to a slightly shaking wheel, but when I came to pick up my car, the guy mentioned it to me and explained that the shaking was due to a tire going bad and said they took a look and weren't able to determine yet which one it was. When I asked what he thought I should do, he suggested waiting until the shaking was more pronounced and then bringing it in for a check-up (versus suggesting I just replace them all now), so I didn't feel they were out just to make a buck. The only negative is that there isn't really an area for customers to sit and do work while they wait, but the closest coffee shop is about 5 blocks east on Colfax, so that's always an option if you don't feel like dealing with finding a ride or taking the bus. Definitely will go back for future maintenance and repairs! read more

This is a review for service from a few months ago. I've taken my car there a few times there before for regular alignment, and they did a fine job (hence the 2 stars). However, the last time I took it there, I was very disappointed with the service and hence won't be taking it back. I went in because something on my car was occasionally making a weird clunking noise as I drove. It didn't happen all the time, but when I took it in, the car was able to replicate it (Murphy's law upended), so the mechanic heard it when he drove it. They told me it was a wheel hub/bearing problem, which sounded reasonable, so they replaced it for a little over $300. As I drove off with my wallet $300 lighter, the sound was still there so I took it right back, and they told me that it must be a problem with the tire, and that I should take it to a tire shop. I'm by no means a mechanic, but I also work in a job whose biggest responsibility is diagnostics, so I understand that there is a degree of uncertainty in any diagnosis. HOWEVER, if it was even possible that the tire was faulty, shouldn't they have at least looked at the tire before they charged me $300 for something that possibly didn't need to be replaced?!?!?! I know that some parts of cars are hard to examine/access, but it's the freakin' tire! It sits on the outside! I could examine it myself if I knew what to look for! I took it to the place where I got the tires, and after a 2 hour wait, their verdict was - no problem with the tires....... I gave up trying to fix it after that and decided to take my chances even though my car still made that noise - since then, no wheels fell off and no one died because of it (other than the legendary David Bowie). I've since sold the car, and who knows if the car is still clunking along, but after that experience, I won't be taking my car back to Stan's Alignment. read more

Brought my car for an alignment check this morning and everything was done by noon. Knew i had additional problems with the ball and joint as i had run into a curb several months ago after slipping on an icy road into a curb. Rates were honest and very reasonable price for labor. Friendly staff too. Had taken my car to Big O' Tires on Havana a few wks prior for a free alignment estimate where a number of additional 'problems' were found and i was quoted a rate more than 2x what i was charged here! Will definitely come back here for future auto repair services. read more

My daughter recommended Stan's Alignment to me, after I got a very expensive estimate at another Denver shop. Instead of the original estimate of $450, Stan's cost me $128! They also gave me a ride home, which I wasn't expecting, since I live over 12 miles away. The other shop, which is fairly close to my home, refused to give me a ride since I lived more than two miles away. If you plan to wait for your car, make sure to communicate that to both the receptionist and the mechanic or manager very clearly. read more

In 78 I began my automotive career. Actually got best grades in front end and although I never did front end alignment in the field I'm certainly not dumb to the process. So after replacing EVERY SINGLE part, (including the springs) in the front suspension of a 73 monte carlo I took it to Big O since they were just 4 blocks from home. They tried to charge me over 300 dollars to align it!! Took it to Stans. Took the girl 50 minutes to get it done for 60.00 Its so sad that some of these places will rip you off if you don't know any better read more

Wonderful service, the technicians took the time out to manually go over every detail. I recently got new tires on my car which is lowered with a custom suspension. The place I bought my tires from was not able to do the alignment. A friend recommended me to Stan's and I a glad I came. They were able to work with me to adjust my ride height as well as easily align all 4 wheels. The technician came and spoke with me various times regarding the details of the adjustments made to my suspension, ride height, alignment, and maintenance. read more

This place is great. A lot of alignment shops will do 2 very annoying things, first is try to sell you on every possible front end part they can, Stan's will let you know if a part is worn but I've never gotten a report from them that was clearly meant to sell me a repair. Secondly, they never make an excuse not to do an alignment. I have taken them some jacked up front ends and they've let me know they'd do the best they could with what they were working with (most shops just claimed they couldn't do it and passed on the job) Highly recommended and their prices are fair. read more

Such a nice receptionist but my appt was 8am and so was 10 other people's. So not taken for over an hour and a simple alignment has taken over 1.5 hrs and still not done. Now worried because they're talking about going to lunch and are all in the back doing some social thing. Feel lime I'm being held hostage. Missed 2 other appts. I have a sports car that was "aligned" by a performance shop in Denver 18 months ago, and after "alignment" it chewed through a set of tires in 4000 miles and drove dangerously. On the recommendation of Discount Tire on Colfax (another honest group of people) I visited Stan's yesterday and in less than an hour they had aligned the car and it drives perfectly now - like new! These guys are top-notch. My RV broke down while travelling through Denver, and I was extremely lucky to be referred to Stan's. Both axles on my trailer needed to be replaced. Owner Mike got on the phone with the axle manufacturer and explained the problem. It took about a week to get the axles from Indiana, at which point manager Bob and his mechanic John got the job done quickly and efficiently. Stan's had actually been recommended to me by a guy I trust implicitly, but as you can tell from the star count, I was not pleased with my experience. Without going into a ton of detail, my wife brought her Honda here a little over a year ago because the rear main seal was leaking. Stan's gave her what seemed like a decent quote and we went with them. Well, awhile after the job was done my wife took the car to a dealership for some routine service and they said the seal was still leaking. We took it back to Stan's and they said it was dry. A month or two later another shop told wifey the seal was wet. Back to Stan's; said it was dry again. I think we went through this one more time, then my wife took a picture of the seal while her car was up on the lift at the other shop. Back to Stan's. They conceded that yes, the seal was still leaking, and they redid the job. As my wife is leaving the shop, Mike (the dude who looks like Warren Beatty) says he took some pictures of the job "because I know how much you like pictures." Bottom line: most people seem to think these guys do a great job within their areas of expertise. My experience is that they screwed up on a major mechanical job and then were rude to my wife about it even though she was the one who'd been driving all over creation trying to get things worked out. So caveat emptor. Personally if I were someone else and I read this review, I'd take my business elsewhere just because they validated that old stereotype of mechanics treating women badly. Took my car for an alignment and they told me it be about an hour, so I went and spent my hour and came back only for them to tell me that they couldn'tdo the ali gnment because I needed parts repaired. It only took them about 15min to do the inspection and yet they didn't call and let me know. Not only that but they were rude and just very unpleasant people. I will not be going back again. Finally an honest mechanic shop!!! Another shop had told me that it would cost me over $400 to do an alignment because I needed new camber bolts put in. I wasn't falling for it and ended up paying the $100+ for a crappy alignment. After that, my husband put in camber bolts from Napa, we got new tires and I took it in to Stan's. They literally showed me the problem with the new camber bolts and asked me to find the original ones and bring it back to them. Not only did they put the old bolts (that were actually fine) back on my car, but they did a perfect alignment for a wonderful price! It was a fraction of what I'd payed the other shop for a crappy job. They have a customer for life here. They're also very personable and just plain good folks. They also have a shop attached to this one and do everything but body work. Don't even hesitate to call and make an appointment with these folks. And if you're not sure what's wrong, they'll take a test drive with you to help you figure it out. I'm a Stan's Fan! :) read more
