I contacted them and said their "warranty" doesn't cover coolant or the radiator and they can recommend me to a repair shop. The coolant topped off only 2 days ago was bone dry today. TLDR they sell lemons and won't lift a finger to make it right. This massive failure this early is telling and will not give them more business. Now I somehow have to deal with something that should have never happened this early. If I could give 0 stars I would. FYI they also have been delaying this whole time fixing another issue with this car that was outlined in the sales contract, aka they only follow a contract when they want to. Do not buy from this place. My parents bought a highlander and not even 2 months and the engine blew. They figured it was just bad luck, so they decided to buy a kia sodona from them it's had nothing but problems. The idler pully ceased and had to replace it. The idle control sensor went out. Then today the crankshaft pully literally fell apart. My girlfriend bought a jeep from them before we started dating and she told them it was to take her kids to school and what not, it's literally a death trap, it developed death wobble not long after she bought it. It is an electrical nightmare. Windows don't work, doorlocks don't work, back lights don't work. These people are not honest in the slightest. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, YOULL REGRET IT. read more

Such a huge disappointment!! Not even 1 month into owning my car I purchased for the first time and I've had various issues come up with this car. To top it off the Check Engine came on already and I was told by the owner Jack and manager Johnny they would take care of the issue. No issue was ever resolved and they were more concerned with their review making them "look good". I was told to delete my updated review and they would work with me to fix the issue and it NEVER happened. I am so upset with this whole process and with it being my first time purchasing a vehicle I am in the same boat I was before I got a car from them!! First thing's first...This place sells Hoopties. That's not a bad thing, it's just the way it is. If you know that going into the process, you'll be alright. Do they have some good cars? Probably. Do they have some real turds? Probably. You're never going to find a perfect car at this sort of establishment, but that's just the nature of the beast. I'm totally happy with the '96 Camaro I found here. Does it have issues? Yes. Did I know it would have issues before I even went to look at it? Yes. It's all about having your expectations match reality. If you're going to daily drive the car you buy here, I would highly recommend having a mechanic look it over first, but you should be doing that anyway. Recently we purchased a vehicle from what I thought was a very reliable and safe place...4 years ago, we got my wife's Honda Fit. With ZERO down and had no issues whatsoever. 4 years later, we sold the car. Paid it off in full and was told OVER THE PHONE that I would only have to pay 1500 dollars down payment. I was alright with that and proceeded with the sale. I was told at the dealership that I would have to pay 2500 down instead. They lied. They are manipulative. And they have poor poor. We were sold a car with a blown head gasket that was NOT disclosed to us. The dealership is not responding to our calls, refused to provide requested repair paperwork or codes and the employees are now being extremely rude to us when we call regarding the issue and the warranty they gave us for the vehicle. We have a child, we gave them our trust and they sold us a vehicle with a VERY dangerous and expensive issue. They were legally required to disclose this issue to us pre-purchase and failed to do so. This business rips off its customers. My daughter and I bought a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant back in 2012. She moved out of state shortly afterwards. Then when she moved back it wouldn't pass emissions. Could not figure out why. Well we took it to a local place and found out that they removed one of the catalytic converts for an exhaust pipe so that it could pass emissions. I am not generally one to complain, however... this was an absolutely terrible experience. The salesman was overly pushy with the car sale. They didn't have the right people in the office to get things done appropriately or in timely fashion. They were uninformed on issues that should honestly be black and white for car salesmen. They provided misinformation that led to additional work on our end, requiring us to drive back and forth - and we live an hour away. The car was filthy and they didn't have the staff to clean, much less detail, the vehicle. We still haven't received our license plates because they are not providing the DMV with the appropriate paperwork - no matter how many times the DMV associates call them. (We've been to the DMV three times - you know how much fun that is.) And they don't return phone calls as promised. I have never experienced anything like this and I've purchased many cars. I absolutely would not purchase from them again, and recommend you don't either. read more

Beware! I bought a car from Stan's Auto in January of 2011 - a 1999 Subaru. When I bought the car from them, it had a bad battery so they replaced it before I left with what they told me was a new battery. I have had non-stop problems with this car - oil leaks, replaced the starter, and now I have to replace the alternator. My mechanic informed me that I need a new battery too. He showed me that the battery I have is an original Subaru battery. I do not trust this place and will not be back. Update: Stan replied, so I am replying to him. Came here to test drive a car and wanted to get It checked out at another shop to make sure everything was alright, they wouldn't let me get It checked out. The dealers manager said word for word "if I took It to a mechanic I would come with a list this long \______O_______/ with all the problems." That was a big nono for me. We worked with Johnny on buying a 2012 Acura RDX. He was patient and did not rush us in the process. We test drove another car we felt was not the car for us, then we came across the Acura. We loved it! We took it to be inspected and it needed new tires and rear brakes. They were more than accommodating to negotiate with us on price due to these details. They met Kelly Blue Book Pricing on private sale of the vehicle and we were in and out in less than 2 hours once we decided to buy. Johnny was friendly, honest and patient with us. He did not give us a hard time about wanting the car inspected, which MANY dealerships the same day did give us a hard time. He said he would feel better if we had it inspected and felt good about the sale. Said he wouldn't even try to work out a price until we were comfortable. We made a fair deal and purchased the car. Beware: $400 "Dealership Fee" I should also mention that i didn't actually buy a car here, i put a deposit down and then retracted it 1 day later (I found a better deal on another car). So basically take any car they are advertising, and tack on an extra $400. A pretty sheisty way to advertise your car for less than you are actually selling it for. The seller (who i will not name, as that would be very harmful to him, and he possibly could have just been having a bad day)i was paired with, also wasn't the greatest person to buy a car from. When i discovered a significant oil leak under the hood (the car smelled of burning oil as soon as i put it into park, and then when i looked under the hood quite a bit of smoke was coming off the engine) the seller informed me "You have to expect these sorts of issues on any used car in your price range." I will admit my price range was low, and used cars in my range will have issues, but downplaying a very noticeable oil leak is fulfilling the used car salesman stereotype. That could be a $250 repair or it just easily could have been a major, major issue. When i expressed concern he acted annoyed. Had my better deal on another car not come through, and if a mechanic i trust had confirmed that the oil leak wouldn't be huge to repair, i might have still gone with the car. However, bring someone who at least knows a little about cars (i don't know a ton, but i knew enough to raise red flags about both the car and the salesman's shady efforts to get me to just sign the papers). They do have some good deals on cheaper cars, so if you don't have a 10 Grand to spend on a car, i would say this place is worth checking out... But be careful. read more

It's to bad that these guys are typical used car salesmen! I wouldn't trust them if my life depended on it! I went in to test drive a Volvo and then brought it to my Volvo mechanic I've been seeing in Boulder, CO for 20 years. On my way out of Stan's, the salesman said that if I thought they were going to fix $5,000 worth of repairs, they wouldn't do that, so I said, if there were $5,000 worth of repairs, let's save both of us some time and I'll skip the inspection. The salesman said that there weren't those kind of repairs needed, so we scheduled the $110 inspection. When we brought it in, the mechanic said he'd buy the car for half price, that it needed $2,145 in repairs immediately and $3,100 during year 1. I was horrified and called Stan himself to discuss this, he dismissed my concerns and didn't care. He said, if I brought the car to any mechanic that they would find $5,000 worth of repairs on any used car, fortunately, I've done this several other times with this mechanic and they never found this much damage, ever. Within 6 months of purchase of my daughter's latest vehicle, we've had to replace motor mounts, ball joints, tires and now the transmission went out. Of course they won't do anything about it other than have one of their shops that they use repair it...at my expense!! I just talked with another customer who bought a car there a couple months ago only to find out it was over 3 quarts of oil low! They are obviously not checking these cars out before they are put on their retail lot. I'm just the consumer not a mechanic! This review is LATE but I've really wanting to make sure we let Yelpers know that we had a fantastic experience with the guys at Stan's Auto! We were concerned when we saw all the poor ratings on Yelp but we worked with several people at the office including Scott, Johnny, Stan and couple other guys for the finance work and mechanic. They were all kind, respectful, straightforward and kept in good communication with us over the several weeks it took for us to make decisions about the purchase of our 2007 4-door Jeep Wrangler. My husband found some issues with the car while test driving it. The mechanic had already left for home but came right back and checked it out with my husband and they located the problem and the team made sure those issues and others were fixed before we bought it. We got a great deal, they worked out the financing so we could afford the payments. And I LOVE my new (older) Jeep!! Thanks so much to the whole team for making my dream car happen! I bought a jeep a few months ago and I feel like I was screwed over. Don't get my wrong everyone there was super nice but the cars there are terrible. They hid a lot of problems and didn't tell me everything I was going to deal with, the 4 wheel drive doesn't work and they tried selling it to me with low oil in it thankfully we checked it before and they put some in. I was definitely screwed over with price there, my car was 6100 and if I were to seek it now with the problems I'm having (coming from a man who works at a very large dealership) this car would sell now for 1000. As a birthday gift to me I'm hurt that I have to spend more on fixing the problems than I did buying the car. I wouldn't buy from here, I have countless problems not even including the things I have already listed. If you buy from here just know your getting screwed. WATCH OUT!! A scam, deceitful car salesmen who lie, over-charge, and take advantage!!! What a horrific experience.... Let's just say, there is a reason they are 2.5 star..... Initially, Eric was the salesman to greet me. He didn't know anything about the vehicle he was selling me.... and he tried to charge me $1000 in taxes but since I knew dealerships have to charge taxes according to where I live I knew it should only be around $400.... After bringing friends and family to do as much independent mechanical checks as we could, I confronted them that the trucks steering wheel was leaning toward the right. (Initially Eric said this was because of the bend in the road! Lol!) Eric and Johnny reassured me there was nothing else wrong with the vehicle that I wasn't already aware of. When signing paperwork, I asked Eric what the invoice stated about work Stan's Auto Mechanics did to the vehicle prior to putting it on the lot; Eric told me brakes, timing belt, and oil change. I didn't find out until after paperwork was signed that as it turns out Eric lied and DID NOT tell me it also included a rebuilt of the engine.... when I confronted him that this is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL, he had nothing to say for himself. The owners excuse was that "the salesmen didn't know...." yeah? Well, Stan, I'm sorry that's not gonna fly with me. That wasn't even the biggest issue, though, the alignment they reassured me about was a LIE! The vehicle's entire framing/suspension was busted! When I demanded they put me in a new vehicle, they closed the deal on me and have left me carless. I figure it's only because ALL of the vehicles on their lot are busted like this.... THEN, Stan (the owner) had the nerve to ask me for the emission of the vehicle back and I said, "why? So you can sell it to someone else?" No. I don't think so, Stan. You won't be getting emissions back because you WONT do somebody else as wrong as you did me... Anyways, they lied to me about an engine rebuild and sold me an lemon vehicle. I am taking legal actions now because I have a HUGE case on my hands and plan on putting them out of business. Dealerships like these are the reason why used lots have the reputation they do.... Never ever even think if going to this joke of a dealership he WILL SCREW YOU OVER. We bought a car from Stan's last October, during the last ten month that we have owned it we have probably driven it twenty times because something has been wrong with it. The second day I drove it the entire exhaust fell off from the headers back. He did have his "repair shop" B&M Motorheadz "replace" it. The exhaust again fell off and was told to take it back to Motorheadz, this shop should not have a license to operate either, this time the guy Frankensteined the entire system using odd parts welding the entire system and not replacing bolts. Yesterday we bit the bullet and took it to a reputable dealership to try to rectify the situation. The mechanic at the dealership showed us the 3 page repair report that would have costed $4000 dollars and told us the engine was on its last leg. He said that it was an unsafe car to drive off the lot he said the best thing was to have it crushed. So all said and done we lost $5000 dollars on that car and had to get another one that increased our monthly payment $100. Thanks again Stan's. Hope someone screws you over like you have all of these people. read more

I had gone to Stan's in a pinch to trade in my beaten up Mazda on a 2004 PT cruiser. Before walking in the door I had talked to Dino who told me very politely that as soon as I was ready to come see him. Unfortunately he was busy and let us work with Danny... Who was too consumed on how much money he would or wouldn't be making on the sale and he passed us along nicely to Scott. At this point Scott was the one to take us on the test drive. He was honest, very patient, and extremely nice. The car had some battery issues making it difficult to start. He insured me that they would fix the battery problem for me no problem and took the car back and requested a new battery free of charge! Scott and the new car were definitely the upside to my visit to Stan's. However, I had to return back to the dealership three times due to a faulty fax machine, and lack of attention to detail to be asked to fill out additional paperwork on the vehicle. This place is a TOTAL joke. I bought, and paid cash, for a car in November of 2015. It is now January 20th, 2016 and I am still yet to receive my title. They said they "mailed it" but the post office has no record of this transaction. Meanwhile my son is driving around on expired tags until it is located. Stans has you sign a ton of release forms for a reason. I should have passed on the vehicle I bought from them. If I were not able to work on this vehicle myself it would have resulted in over $2k in repairs right off the bat. As it is it has spent weeks in a garage having the engine and exhaust torn apart. The exhaust was heavily repaired by someone in the past and the repairs were awful. I am unable to replace the failed exhaust part without also replacing the entire drivers side exhaust and the rear portion as well. These repairs are extremely recent looking, and leaked heavily. I do not know what Stans would have done for me as I'm not even going to ask after the last reviews posted here by other users. Sometimes when you buy a used car it's a bad deal, and I know that. I'll be taking my beating and crawling away from this one. I just wanted to make sure that everyone else had the ability to learn from my mistake. read more

My partner and I stopped by this afternoon to buy a car, straight up 6k CASH!!! The gentlemen, or lack there of that was "helping us" showed us a few cars. As most concerned consumers would do, I took it upon myself to check RETAIL Kelly blue book. The car he showed us was more then double it's retail value, and that was in excellent condition which it wasn't. When I mentioned this to him, he got completely offended, told us to leave, and that I was(and I quote) "unedumacated." WORST experience, WORST customer service. We decided to then go to rockys, where we were treated with respect, and drove away with a new vehicle happy!
