I wish I could give zero stars because one star is too generous. This manager at this location needs to be retrained on her customer service skills. My son needs a bifocal only for his right eye, I go to pick up his glasses and they have them in both eyes. After speaking to the manager there she told me that the system doesn't allow them to but the script for only one eye. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Had a pleasant experience. I wear contacts mainly but wear glasses also for a break. Great deal for ppl without ins. $99 got me an eye exam and a box of lenses (3 for each eye). You get 50% off frames with that deal as well so I got a cute pair of harvé benard frames, with lenses & anti reflective coating for $160. If my eyes weren't such a pain in the butt and I could wear standard flat lenses, I would have had them ready within an hour, but since I needed special lenses with a curve, I had to wait about a week which wasn't bad. They actually came earlier than I expected which was a plus. read more

This is by far THE worst place I have been to for glasses. I started this process in March. They fed me lies that I will get two for one and they will call me when they are ready. No one ever called me. Mid May I took it upon myself to inquire, they said they didn't have them yet. I walked in a day later and after much searching they found them. The order was wrong. One guy asked me to return a day later when he could fix one but the other one will have to be sent back for repair. Two days later, I went back and no one could find the pair. I went back the next day, the guy was there and he found them. Three weeks passed, knowing that ai will be moving 609 miles away and them promising the glasses will be ready and they will call me, they still were not ready. No one ever called me either. I called twice, checked on the website and there is no pending order for me. I walked in twice to no avail. The third time, the guy was there stating he will make sure to call me and he guarantees the second pair will be there. Guess? No one has called and they were not given to me. I called last week asking for a refund and to return the pair. They had no reference number for the call and guaranteed a manager will call. No one has called. I called again regarding the refund, same thing. They took my number, said the manager is at lunch and will call the second he comes in. No one has called. So, I paid for two glasses, have not received both. It is now three months of this horrible service. These people are thieves. Do NOT waste your time going there. They are all liars and thieves. Now I will get my bank to challenge this payment for services not rendered. I still can't drive at night for I can't see. They do not care. Save your money. Liars and thieves. read more

Current visit was disappointing and a rip-off! I've gone to Stanton Optical for a couple of years now. The doctors were always very helpful and thorough. My son and I went in to Stanton Optical on Sept. 15, 2018. We were called back for our eye exams. THERE WERE NO DOCTORS! Apparently, they now have E-Doctors. There isn't anyone to physically and personally give you an eye exam. There is a screen on the wall and a 'doctor' speaking to you asking questions. During the eye exam, you're asked if lens 1 or 2 is more clear. But the lens would change 4 times as the 'doctor' is asking which one is more clear. I had no clue what was going on. The exam was extremely confusing. There was a female tech sitting in the room. She did nothing but text on her cellphone the whole time. The 'doctors' didn't ask the usual questions like 'Have you noticed a difference in your current prescription?', or 'Have you noticed any eye discomfort due to allergies?'...nothing! My eye exam was completed and we were asked to step out of the room to prepare the room for my sons eye exam. We waited about 5 mins. We were called back and there was a completely different 'doctor' on the screen. Same blue background and white coat. It felt like an eye doctor call center! It felt like these 'doctors' are waiting to be called on for the next eye exam! It also seemed as thought they couldn't see us because they kept looking around. It seemed like they could only hear us. Had I known about these new E-Doctors, I would have never made an appointment. They made sure to take my eye exam payment before the visit too so I'm sure they weren't going to refund me had I decided to leave. I had an appointment with Americans Best a few days later for contacts lenses. I was given a prescription for my contacts and the paper also had the prescription for my eye glasses...America's Best and Stanton Opticals prescription for my glasses were different! I decided to wait and see how my glasses from SO felt. Well, I went in today, Sept. 26th, to pick up my glasses and the Rx is off. My son even said his glasses felt weird. We informed the employee and he said 'Take them for a test drive and let us know if it gets better'. I'm planning on returning to AB and having my sons eye retested. I'll also be having them check my new glasses to see what the Rx is on them. If it's wrong, SO will be fixing them. We walked out of SO paying over $500. It was a ripoff. AB has name brand glasses and a very nice selection! After Stanton Optical fixes our glasses, I will never return. Oh and I never received a receipt stating what I purchased. I realized it only after I got in my car. My son went back in to get an itemized receipt and he was told that they were too busy...there was no one there! So for the previous review that said the 'Doctors' were good and helpful...untrue. There are no doctors on the premises. Another review mentioned an employee named Christian. He was the gentleman that assisted us. He felt like a used car salesman. He kept pushing for me to spend more on the lenses for our glasses. Not once did that happen at America's Best. Christian also told told me 'It looks like you need bifocals'. I was shocked when Christian said that and he then said 'Well I'm not a doctor or anything. I'm just looking at your papers'. America's Best reassured me that that was not true. My eyes are fine. There is no sign of my needing bifocals. Stanton Optical needs to invest in employees that have some actual knowledge and stop hiring employees that act like they're too good to attend to you. BAIT and SWITCH. After being told on the phone that I could get 2 pairs of sunglasses for $69.95, I made an appointment and went down there. I waited 45 minutes as the man at the counter took care of everyone else as they came in even though I had an appointment. He then showed me to a small section of about 12 really ugly frames that I could choose from. He said if I wanted any other frames I would have to pay for those frames and the lenses would be about $200 additional .I turned and he was gone again. I spoke to another gentleman who told me that they could Tint the glasses for a small additional charge, but If I wanted sunglasses, it would cost about $245 each. It is your typical bait and switch. I hardly ever write reviews; just too busy to drag someone unless it is an egregious error, but I need to remember to compliment exceptional customer service when warranted. I have patronized Stanton Optical on Glades Road several times in the past, mainly for the value and fast turnaround, however this time, the manager Inna, went above and beyond. I popped in to get a quick eye exam and I planned on just getting the "two pairs for $69.00" special. Although it was super busy in the store and she was going home for the night, she bent over backwards and stayed late to try to get me in and out. In the middle of fitting me for frames, I got a call that there was a family emergency. I dashed out without actually selecting or paying for the frames. Fast forward and now that things are back to normal, I stopped in today (almost a month later) and not only did she remember me, she asked about my family member, helped me find the frames I had previously selected. She stopped what she was doing to fit me and to close out the transaction personally. In a world where sometimes we are reduced to a number or we are treated differently based on the dollar amount of the purchase, Inna went out of her way to make me feel like a valued customer. DO NOT USE STANTON OPTICAL!!! My Girlfriend and I went in on Feb 14 to get eye exam and Contacts prescription ( advertised as free exam) cost of Exam $89 ... paid $187.40 for contacts told Contacts would be delivered in a few days. Two weeks later after interminal wait on ridiculous phone call ( automated system said no order on file for both of us) was told their servers were down around the time of our visit, exam and payment. We were then told they would look into it and get back to us. After 1 week with no reply or correspondence I called back questioned again was told same thing about my Contacts but her's were in. Yesterday March 4 we went in to location after speaking on phone ( again interminal wait and frustating attempt to speak with live person at Boca location made an appointment. Her contacts were not there and they had no information on mine, blaming it on lack of response from Corporate. I asked to speak with manager, was told he was aware of situation( he had no clue). I was promised they would get back to me by later in day, of course I didn't hear anything. Im requesting refund and strongly suggest everyone not to patonize Stanton Optical. Frank In addition and to make matters worse My Girlfriend had an exam same day paid $95 and was told her Contacts would be a few days ... after repeated phone calls and emails we were told they were not in stock and would be in 3/20 after not receiving any communication we called 3/25 and was told they are not in but a return phone call would be made with an update by 5:00 that day not surprisingly we are still waiting!! read more

I went in for an eye exam for contacts and was told it would be no problem to fulfill my prescription. It has now been three months, I still do not have my contacts nor my prescription. I will be taking action through the state of Florida to get the prescription that is due me. I have had countless calls and promises from both the staff and corporate offices. What a joke this place is. Went in for an eye exam for my child, which insurance paid for. Even before the eye exam was done they had already told us to select a frame, buy one get one free promotion. We selected a frame that was $129.00. After our exam they realize that my insurance covers up to $130 for a frame - all of a sudden we are no longer eligible for their "promotion" price. So I immediately question it because why wouldn't they offer the promotion? They were still being paid by the insurance. The guy immediately goes for his manager - at that point I am ready to leave as this was obvious a high pressure sales tactic and we are not fools - just give me my prescription and I can buy glasses anywhere. The manager comes with an immediate condescending attitude, which no one needs and I left with my kids without even giving him the time of day. My advice to anyone - go somewhere else. This place is not worth your time of day. At this day and age you can get good customer service and prices anywhere. read more

I had a really bad experience at this place. I have no idea how they hire representatives in the front desk. The store has variety of glasses but they will try their best to get as much money as they can from you although my insurance cover good amount of the costs, the total for my glasses last year was around $400 because I added insurance on it. I went to this year and made the same mistake to make a new glasses. While was doing that, I wanted to redo my scratched glasses and the front desk claimed that I don't have insurance on it. I came back next week and the other agent told me I have insurance to re-make my glasses. Good news right? That's what I thought. It took me over a month going back every couple days and I decided to just give up. It's either they didn't find my frame in other stores to order it or they lost my paper copy of the prescription. Tho one of them said he found it but the one who take care of me was on vacation. I had to wait and he said he will keep looking but he never calls back. At the end I decided to forget about the frame and just re make the glasses. Well, that another story about how rude and unprofessional they were. My new glasses frame, the one i got this year, started to fall off after one month but i'de rather to go to a new place next month than dealing with Stanton headache again . Terrible experience from the minute I walked in. Made an 1145am appointment to get an eye exam and new glasses. No one acknowledged me standing at the front desk for about the first ten minutes to just check in. I should have left right then! Finally 1210 someone decided to come over and check me in. I made it clear I wanted to do the free eye exam with two pairs of glasses for $69. I was told at the front desk that the exam would be $45 and that once I picked out my frames The $45 would go towards that. AFTER my exam they told me to go pick out two pairs of frames which I did and then hit me with $199 for the LENSES! What they didn't tell you is that if your prescription is over a certain amount You don't qualify for the two for $69 deal. So after all was said and done I felt very taken advantage of with their sneaky promotions. Not to mention your glasses take 2 weeks to come in. This is the worst place to but glasses. they tell you it is $ 69 for two pair . I had to to pay $184.. After receiving one pair. I had to wait 34 days for the second to arrive, I have had my glasses for less than 4 months and I brought them back to be cleaned because they had a small scratch on them, ( however I paid extra for scratch resistance glasses. ) they tell you they have a lab on site but actually they send you glasses out to be fixed, (so I was told ) I brought them on the 12th of Jan 2015 and it is now the 31st of Jan 2015 and everyday they tell me they will call when they get them ......................... they told me 7-10 days at the most . I chose Stanton Optical because of its affordable eye exam price and my lack of eye insurance. Big mistake. I should have changed my mind when the man on the phone was pushy about scheduling an appointment, but I ended up calling back and scheduling anyways as other places in the area had higher prices. I arrived early for my appointment, that I scheduled a week in advance, and was given paperwork to fill out. As I am reading all of the documents, I notice a strange waiver asking for permission to video and photograph me. I asked the lady at the front desk about this and she said as there is no real doctor in the office they want to use telehealth to conduct my eye exam. No thanks. (Why was this not mentioned when I scheduled the appointment?) So I tell the lady never mind but she tells me I can come back in an hour to see a real doctor. So mistakenly I leave and come back. Apparently in that one hour their online system crashed, and they never had me finish any of the paperwork. They take a few pictures of my eyes very quickly and I wait to see the doctor, who ended up being the worst part of the experience. She had no "bedside" manner and didn't even introduce herself to me. Now I can't even tell you which doctor to steer clear of. The appointment lasted no more than 7 minutes. She asked me if I liked my current prescription (I did), clicked one maybe two slides to see which I liked better, and said okay try these on. She took little to no background information and tried to rush me out the door. I have been to a few other eye doctors and every time the appointment takes 20+ minutes where they test multiple slides and help you find the absolute right fit, not her. She wanted me gone. She said I adjusted the power just a little bit (I even showed her my original prescription). I then get taken to this tiny room with a mirror to try on my contacts with two other people jammed inside. After trying on the contacts and confirming they fit, I was sent on my way with an illegible paper script, only to realize she wrote the wrong year on it! While this is understandable as it the year just changed, I had to wait 20+ minutes for her to fix it. And after all that waiting she simply put a line through it and wrote the new year. My prescription looks forged! She didn't initial it or take the time to write a new one or anything. After this nightmare of a visit, I finally leave deciding I will never come back...little did I know I was back about an hour later. Turns out the doctor decided I no longer have an astigmatism in one eye, changed my prescription to one toric lens and one not, and adjusted the power without telling me of these changes. She knew absolutely nothing about my long history of trouble with contacts, so when she said she barely adjusted it, I didn't inquire further, but apparently, she did more than she said she was going to do. Not to mention I cannot read her handwriting/formatting to figure out how to order my own contacts online. So I drive all the way back there to figure out what happened and the man at the desk said oh yeah it's normal for a doctor to just not give someone astigmatism lenses anymore (without even telling them apparently). So ended up ordering my contacts there (as I could not figure out this paper prescription and was unaware I was buying two DIFFERENT types of contacts one for each eye). When asked how long it would take for the other to arrive, the man said 2-3 days. It ended up taking 1.5 weeks! I was never contacted about my order and had to keep calling the hotline to figure out if it was ready. When it was finally ready, it said 2 of 3 orders are ready. I ordered 2 things. So I call their number and after two phone calls, a deceptively realistic automated machine person, and two transfers I find out that my order is ready and to just ignore the incorrect hotline. What a nightmare. Rather pay more for actual customer service. I will never go back to a Stanton again. read more

My appt was on 12/14, I got there and they didn't know who I was, I even showed them my confirmation (which also next day I got text & email saying I missed my appt.) The man that took pictures of my eyes was about 75 years old and rushed me so... I'm sure I blinked in at least 2 of the 4 machines. Then I was put in a room with a computer for exam that was so inept, it gave me the same letters over and over by the time I was tested I knew exactly what was there. They took my old glasses to a machine to test but when they gave me my prescription they refused to tell me if my vision had changed since my last glasses came from somewhere else. When I said I hadn't found glasses I liked he tried to tell me $95.00 though the special was exam + 2 pairs of glasses for $59. when I reminded him of that he said fine then it's $45.00.... I'm sure my prescription is wrong and will have to go to a real Ophthalmologist for accuracy. Then my husband who has been a customer for years went in and asked them to replace a screw on glasses that came from there (though he had changed the arms from another pair from Stanton) they refused... Then I said I didn't want 2 pairs, so they offered me 1 pair for $225. I then said I was tired and leaving, they offered me that same pair for $189. It was like buying a car. They wore me down. My son & l got 2 eye exams with the 2 glasses for $69 morphed into $737.00 I was supposed to receive my second pair of glasses on February 25/2017 .It is now April 10/2017 have not received my second pair of glasses however I have wasted at least 24 hours talking to the staff,visiting the store talking to the manager to no avail. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Not only do they scam you, they are so unprofessional and unfriendly. They "forget" to mention insurance to make you forget, so you have to pay the full co pay. The $99 for 3 visits, does not include an eye exam for new contacts, which they "forget" to mention until you're paying. They said they put a box of contacts on hold for me, and when I show up they said they gave them away, after driving 40 minutes to get them. One year later, as of 7/10/2014, I went to this store (Stanton Optical in Boca Raton, FL) again to refill my new prescription. I put my order on the same date. more than 3 weeks later, on 8/4/2014, they still couldn't do my glasses. They admitted they just didn't have the skill to do my prescription. Somehow, I went to another store (Italee Optics authorized store), they got my glasses done within one week. Stanton Optical admitted they just didn't have the skill to do, they admitted they are not as good as other stores. So, you know, this is not a professional store, probably they only can do glasses that you can buy in a local pharmacy, just a pair of off-the-shelf glasses. You don't need to pay that big money for that kind of glasses. If you really want to go to that store, I HAVE SOME COUPONS. They gave me a few hundred dollars of coupons to compensate their mistakes and whatever they couldn't do as others. I can let you use my coupon to save some money. Stanton optical in Boca has horrible customer service. Not only do they not return phone calls ( including the manager) they are not honest about the length of time to make your glasses. I was told 7-10 days. When I called at the 10 day mark they said 10 days really means 2 weeks. I called in 2 weeks and was told their machine was broken. Asked for manager to call me back and requested a refund and neither happened. Had to call bank to dispute charge. I see why they were on groupon... Must really need business. Purchased glasses from Stanton Boca Raton in November & after 3 months noticed blotches forming on the one lens. Upon calling Stanton I was only THEN advised that the lens warranty only covers 80% of the replacement & that I was liable for 20% of the full retail price, being $71.40. This restriction on the warranty was NEVER disclosed to me at the time of purchase so BEWARE. I have had issues in the past where the optician replaces the lens without any charge as this is why you pay the warranty, right? Or so you would think, but not with Stanton Optical.
