My Eye Dr in Holly Springs. Bought two pair of glasses in '22-'23. I've had nothing but problems with the lens falling out and now the arm of the glass that fits in the ear, a spring inside attachment breaking off and the arm that goes around your ear falling apart. Manager Brittany at HS wants to charge me 80 plus tax for replacement/repair and argues on the phone with me that's the best she can do. If you're thinking about going here I'd think twice. She claimed the year warranty was over. But if a merchant sells a defective frame - and I've had quite few glasses in my lifetime with never a problem- if it sellls a defective frame it should make good. My husband had an appointment today 12/30 which had been scheduled for 2 months. They called him 30 minutes before his scheduled appointment to see if he was there yet (of course not, because it wasn't time for his appointment.) His appointment was at 3:40 pm, but he was delayed because of an accident. He received a phone call at 3:43 pm in which he explained the delay, but the office woman rudely informed him "Well we're going to have to cancel if you aren't here in 2 minutes." He told her the GPS showed him arriving in 3 minutes, so she told him they could not accommodate him. Are you joking? Literally every time we've been to this office, we have sat in the waiting room and/or in the exam room for 15-30 minutes... we have been more than accommodating of the office/doctors' schedule, but they can't extend the same courtesy for someone who took time off of work after 2 months of waiting to be seen? To start I haven't seen an eye doctor in 9 years so I was a delight to get my eyes checked once again and the staff of employees that work there are all very professional and extremely courteous and friendly and very helpful as well,they addressed all my concerns and will be going here for my annual eye check up for sure. read more

After an exam I ordered glasses for my new prescription. Unfortunately the glasses produced double vision and inaccurate vision - I could read and see better WITHOUT the glasses. I was offered a second chance for them to make it right but chose not to - if a professional cannot get it right the first time, I prefer to go elsewhere, which I did. First of all, I'm a nurse and very understanding, I NEVER complain and have never written a negative review. I am embarrassed for people that stand there and complain at the desk but OMG!! I scheduled an appointment on line Thursday evening and Friday morning I received a call asking me to sign a release of information from previous exam ( I forgot to do this). I tried to call Saturday morning and got the after hours number, I couldn't get through. When I arrived the young lady told me that they could not see me without my prior records... Why? What if I had never had an eye exam before, can they not perform their own tests? Apparently not! I had explained to the lady who called me Friday that I needed a thorough eye exam because I was diabetic and needed to be tested for retinopathy. She assured me they could do the testing I needed. Upon arrival Saturday I was told they would not do the exam without my prior records because they could only dilate my eyes, they didn't have the "machines" needed to perform the testing for diabetes. She said they had tried to call me several times to remind me the day before but I had no missed calls or messages on my phone. If I had it would have been my fault, but don't lie to me. Did I just pay someone to come to my house to take care of my handicapped child and drive 40 minutes because I was mislead into believing they could do a thorough exam for diabetes? Yes, that really just happened. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR EYE HEALTH REALLY TESTED. I think they type up the results from the previous exam. How else would they know what to put if they can only dilate your eyes, they don't have the "machines" needed for testing. Her words, not mine. I went to MyEyeDr after calling eye care places in the Cary/apex/HollySprings area. What I learned is that this is the store that has a digital lab which gives the highest quality lenses. I had frames that I bought in Europe that needed to be drilled and made properly and this is the store that could do that. I was shocked to find out that their lowest cost lenses (bifocal with coatings) came in at half the cost of the best lenses at Visionworks. I was wasting money going elsewhere! I paid more only to get less. I'm so happy I did my homework and found MyEyeDr! The staff is very helpful and friendly. We plan to return for my daughter's eye exam as well as glasses and contacts. Yes I went to this place expecting them to be great at their job as my wife said it's great I have my eyes tested and the doctor puts down recommended that I have anti-glare and transitioning glasses get the glasses 2 weeks later only for them not to have the transition on them and I call and ask them to fix it and they try to charge me 75.00 for their mistake no apology no sorry we will take care of that nothing just kept repeating we need extra 75.00 for it. Let me start with a warning, if you order glasses through them, and have in the past, they will ask you if you want the lenses the same as your last pair. Say no and start from scratch. I will get to why in a minute. I went in for an eye exam on 3/14/17. I wasn't impressed with the doctor at all. She seemed to be very scripted and robotic in the actual exam. Afterwards I went out and tried on several frames. I finally decided on a Lilly Pulitzer metal frame. They had it in the store in blue but Jill verified that they came in black and said she would order them for me. Jill said they came in black and the 2 stripes on the side would be pink but, "everything else would be black". See the picture to for a visual. She then asked if I wanted the same lenses I ordered at my last exam two years prior. Stupid me, I said yes. Apparently since my last pair, they have come out with this blue coating. It wasn't available 2 years ago, so how in the world are these the same lenses I ordered then? I'll tell you how...more money in their pockets. Anyway, imagine my shock when they came in 2 weeks later and had so much pink on them. No thank you! I then told Kathleen I had taken pictures in the Apex store of a frame I was thinking of ordering as a second pair. She pulled them up on her computer and said she would order them as a replacement. I told her I wanted them in black. She repeated "black" and I said yes. There was no confusion at all. 3 weeks later they finally came in and they were BLUE. I asked Kathleen what happened and she said "We got the blue ones from Apex. You said those were the ones you loved". I reminded her that no, I liked the frame but not the color. She then backpedaled and said they were no longer available in black, they had been discontinued. So, she didn't call me to tell me this, she just took it upon herself to get them for me in blue? No, it was a lie to cover up her mistake. So now that's 2 separate women who said they would order me one thing then ordered me another. Complete incompetence. That was it, I was done with that store and I will never step foot back in there. I went to the Cary Centrum location to try to rectify the situation. That has been a whole other disastrous headache, and I am still waiting, almost two months post visit, for it to be worked out. Now THIS was a great experience! Not only was I able to get a next day appointment, it was for a Saturday. Another optometrist had me waiting until the end of the month. That's when I went to the Internet and found MyEyeDr in Holly Springs, NC. Great staff members, didn't have to wait too long to be seen, and Dr. Garces has an excellent sense of humor! No one tried to get me to buy above my budget, and I was even able to split up my payments. No interest. Just made a couple of payments and had a new pair of glasses. I was definitely impressed with the no-pressure options. What features did I want in lenses, what costs were involved, what did my insurance pay, etc. Great experience! I referred my neighbor to them and she's referring her sister and her friend! They all loved my glasses and each wants a pair for herself. Had a great experience in here last month. My insurance worked with My Eye Dr. only so I didn't have much of a choice, but the experience I had was great. Quick and efficient eye exam, super friendly and helpful staff, and really awesome new pair of glasses. I, like many, dread the eye exams and everything that goes with it. The staff that works here did a great job to make it quick and easy. Picking out glasses at the end was also made easy by the helpful staff that both answer questions about your prescription and help you make fashion decisions. TL;DR: great optometrist, but get your glasses elsewhere. My wife has been going here for years so, when we got married three years ago, she got me to use My Eye Doctor as my optometrist. First off, I will say outright that I have nothing but positive things to say about the optometrist. She is wonderful, takes time to talk with you (not at you). She listens and takes the time to understand you as a patient. All procedures are clearly explained Before and after your exam. As a patient, I truly appreciate this. Once you get your prescription, however, go elsewhere. I've had nothing but problems. My first eye exam I got a pair of new glasses. I can't believe the prices of glasses and lenses. My wife said I had a poor perception because I bought previous glasses off an online retailer. This may be true in part, they are definitely in the high side even compared with other chain optical stores. That wouldn't be as bad if the service matched the premium prices. So I ordered these glasses and they took a little over two weeks to be completed because they don't do the work on site. Now, I freely admit that the concept of glasses in an hour is really nice, but that has skewed customer expectations. I certainly don't expect glasses same day, but taking more than a fortnight is rather disappointing. Once they did arrive, they simply handed them to me and said, "have a nice day." There was no attempt to make sure they fit properly, or had the correct prescription, or anything. It was... here ya go. This, however is not even my biggest complaint. A year later, I decided to splurge and get a pair of prescription sunglasses. I ordered them and was given a delivery date. I showed up to get them and they weren't done. Apparently the delivery date was changed and I wasn't notified. Okay. That's a simple snafu. It can happen. I show up on the revised date. They still weren't ready. The delivery date had changed again and I wasn't notified. Then, when the glasses did come in, there was a problem and they had to be sent back! I finally got those glasses about 3.5 weeks later. Needless to say, I was pretty irritated (which is my polite way of saying "irate"). They offered me a small store credit that I could use on my next pair of glasses. Thank you. I appreciate the gesture. However, when I attempted to use that credit down the road, no one had any record of it. I apparently needed to have evidence of that store credit because they had no record of it. Then, right before this year's exam my everyday glasses broke. I called to see if they could be repaired; they couldn't. Fortunately, they said, it was still under warranty and could be replaced. Awesome, right? Not really. They replaced my sunglasses, not my daily glasses. I'm honestly not as worried about that. It seems like an honest mistake, as whoever looked at my records saw I had a pair of glasses still under warranty and assumed they were regular glasses. Given their history, I wasn't surprised that when I arrived for my eye appointment two weeks later and the glasses weren't there. (This is when I found out they ordered sunglasses by accident.) What does big me is that they didn't order the replacement lenses even though I requested and they confirmed that I wanted frames AND lenses. How does it take 2+ weeks just to have frames delivered without lenses? Alas, I could keep going, but let me conclude simply by saying, you'll get more "I'm sorry" than service. Feel free to go here for your eye exams (hence my 2-star rating instead of 1), but don't waste your time or money getting glasses here. read more

I had an appointment on January 24, 2015 at 8:40AM. I arrived early since I was a new patient and the front desk staff was warm and receptive. They asked if I would like a cup of coffee. Wow this place really lost it's customer service skill. I've been going to this Eye Dr for years, and this place has been terrible this year. Recently I had an emergency with my eye, that my Dr recommended to go see my eye Dr to take a look. I called MyEyeDr to try to get an early appointment, they kept referring me to NC Retina instead. NC retina kept telling me that they require a refferal from my eye dr. Tried calling them back explained the situation they kept telling me "Oh we will get that out to them" Please keep in mind this is now going on 3 days waiting. Called them back and asked when is the Dr going to send the referral? The person on the phone rudely said "Dr is busy she will get to it!" Not sure why they raised their tone with me as it's been 3 days. Needless to say it's now been 3 weeks and never heard from them. Would not recommend. I've never experienced worse customer service. During our appointment reminder call the receptionist was very short and rude, but made sure to tell us we NEEDED to be there 15 minutes early. So we showed up exactly 15 minutes early and the front door was locked with a sign saying they were closed. I called the phone number for the office and it also said they were closed. We went next door to grab breakfast and then checked back at the eye doctor office on our way out. They just so happened to be open now?! We go in for our appointments and then they were unable to accommodate us with our sleeping newborn in a completely covered stroller saying it was against COVID guidelines. They wouldn't budge even though we explained he was a premature newborn that was unable to have an outside babysitter due to it being the middle of a pandemic. Through all of the doctors appointments we've been to since the beginning of 2020, we've never experienced this level of disrespect and unprofessionalism. read more

There's never a more desperate time to get an eye doctor appointment than when you roll over your glasses in your sleep and break them to the point of super glue and electrical tape holding it together. I came 15 minutes early and they took me the moment I came in basically and were crazy efficient/quick with updating my prescription...got my frames and sunglasses picked out ordered and in my hands in 6 days which is half the expected turn around time! Very sad service! I went there today to have my eyes examined. I had a 3:40 appointment. There fore, I had to take off work! When I got there , I was told my appointment was cancelled and they were too full to take me. I received a card in the mail that this was my appointment and I called and left a message to confirm on July 29th. All of the employees were standing in the side room eating. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! They got us in quickly for an appointment which was great, however they told me due to NC law I had to come in the back with my 14 year old because she was under 18 YET told me I could leave my 2 1/2 year old out in the front lobby for the front desk guy to watch her!!!! WHAT?!? Okay so after the appointment I find another vision insurance card and call them and give them the info, the girl tells me "we dont handle billing in our office so I will send out your info and it may take a few days". So, I call 3 days later to see if they have run it through my insurance yet because the glasses are ready to be picked up and the same girl from the prior call says "oh I don't see anything in your file so I'll give your number to our office manager and have her call you back as soon as she returns, she just stepped out to go to the bank" I called at 1pm, they closed at 5pm...THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALL until the next morning to say I owed $$ still, which didn't add up per my insurance coverage...needless to say I paid the balance (on top of what I paid the first visit) then I asked for the bill with the break down of charges and I had to ask for a return because they tried to charge me full price for some eye photo they offered me 1/2 price the day of the appointment (and the girl had just gone over this on the phone with me--so either she wasn't paying attention or didn't care) On top of all of that the workers wouldn't even come out and fit my daughter with her new glasses, they had the front desk guy give her her new glasses and he seemed clueless and didn't even know how to "fit" her for the glasses. I had to have her move her head around and determine if they were snug enough around her ears, and of course they weren't so he had to take them in the back and have the other worker tighten them and STILL NO ELSE came out and they were NOT BUSY, there was only ONE other customer in there!! At least the front desk guy was nice. Oh and when he asked the main girl to come do my return she NEVER acknowledged me, NEVER apologized for the mistake or anything even though she was the one that went over the bill with me on the phone before I came in! The workers are very nice, even if they push you to buy contacts through them. I buy through 1-800 contacts, as I have for years, but every time I told the doctor, she made me uncomfortable and gave me attitude. It seems every time I had an appointment, I showed up 10+ minutes early, only to wait an extra half hour (or more). They misdiagnosed me. I over-wear my contacts, depriving oxygen to my cornea (which gave me dry and red eyes), but she blamed it on the seasonal allergies, and prescribed me unneeded steroids, eyedrops, and scheduled more appointments. She even switched me over to a more expensive brand of contacts. It seems to be all about the money. After going to a different eye doctor, all it took to fix the oxygen deprivation was a different type of contacts (hydrogel silicone) and NO MEDICATION NEEDED. If you would like to spend extra money, time, and feel like just another source of money, I would recommend going to myeyedr. of Holly Springs. read more
