If you are going here without insurance, looking for inexpensive glasses-Go to America's Best. I have a recent prescription, and contacted Stanton about their buy one get one free glasses event. I was encouraged to make an appointment with an eyeglasses specialist that would help me find exactly what I wanted. The frames they show online are not in the store. Frames start at $19 and then skyrocket. The two woman there very not very friendly, or helpful. After looking through all of the frames with high price tags, I was never offered any help. Finally the older of the two women asked me what I needed help with. I explained my situation, stating I was only looking for glasses with a particular price bracket. I showed her my prescription. She said that frames are as low as $19-BUT my lenses start at $249!!! I didn't even allow her to finish with the outrageous prices presented to me. I walked out. My boyfriend and I went here for our eye exams and to pick out glasses on a Saturday afternoon. Emily helped us and I can not say enough good things about her. She was absolutely FABULOUS! Great customer service and very personable. I observed her greet every single customer in a positive manner, she definitely goes above and beyond with making customers feel welcome and important. I scheduled an emergency appointment to get contact lenses before a basketball game. On my way I saw an email come through saying my appointment was at 4:05. I thought I had scheduled 4:45. So I called customer service and spoke with them about my appointment, the customer service department said I could schedule at 5:05 or just show up for walk-in. Since I was already on my way i decided to show up. i arrived at about 4:30 and the place was empty. I spoke with the front desk and was told I missed my appointment. When I told my story and the front desk person told me they were the manager and there was nothing he could do. I said that was ridiculous and asked to speak to the doctor. He told me that was not worthwhile as HE was the MANAGER. I had to hold back laughter at the absurdity of what was going on in an empty eye clinic. I asked again to see the Dr. as he would likely be more competent than this "manager". as I said that a car rolled up and the manager excitedly said "See there is the 4:45. We don't have time for you.". At this point I wasn't going to give them my business anyway so I told this little moron off and left. Save yourself the headache and find a real eye clinic. I still can not see. Took 2 months to finally get my glasses. They had to keep sending them back for the wrong proscription. Buy one get one Free. Ya right You could get better looking glass frames at the dollar store. Spent $235 dollars for glasses I can't see out of. No fitting or frame adjustment when I picked them up. On a positive note The staff is under staffed They tried to do there best to help me out. I blame corporate for this stores problems not the staff running the place. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They do NOT offer same day glasses as they have advertised. They also do not tell you anywhere in the fine print that ALL of their deals do NOT include lenses. Which is $199 for 2 pairs. As of now I have waited OVER 2 WEEKS for glasses that I was told would be 10 days. When I call to find out where my glasses are, I am given differing answers but no one can actually say when they will be in. I will be contacting the BBB and highly suggest you take your business else where. Heck at costco you can get top name glasses for less then here even if you have to purchase the Costco membership!! read more

Was told when I came in for my appointment that my insurance was out of network (I have a very common insurance btw) and that it would cost around $200 for an exam + copay's. This amount seemed like it was a rough guess by the gal I was talking to and she did not seem confident that was going to be the final cost. She also seemed in general just annoyed that I was asking how much it was all going to cost and kept saying it was 20% off. 20% off of what? That doesn't tell me anything. None of this whole interaction made sense and nothing was being explained to me well. So I told them this wasn't going to work for me since I don't just have $200 (or more who knows) to spend out of pocket so I walked out. I don't think the person helping me understands how out-of-network billing works at all or if they do they were not able to communicate it clearly. I also had to make a comment as I was leaving about how insanely bright their lights are in the store and they all gave me looks like I am some sort of crazy person. Well I am not crazy and the lights are super bright and some of the lights even look like actual flood lights. Why? Not really the ideal setting for getting eye tests done which can make you sensitive to light. This place is super weird, the employees are unprofessional and I will not be coming back. read more

Not even worthy of 1 Star. My lens are all blotchy and hard to see thru. I went back to Stanton because I have a two year warranty on my glasses. I was told they couldn't do anything to fix them. I asked them to replace the lens, it would cost me over $100 for the lens. I asked for the manager she said the same thing. I will never get glasses here again. read more

This place is a joke. First of all an eye exam with some lady on a TV Screen. Do you think that was an accurate prescription? Then wanted the special of 2 for 59.95. Well the only frames that were for the special were like 3 and looked like coke bottles. Then made a purchase for $225.00. Got home and decided I think not. Called an cancelled my order, and they charged me again. Called back and they said they could get it straightened out. Later received an email showing a CC Receipt that read refund. This morning sent them an email with a screenshot of my bank account showing the (2) duplicate charges and no credits. He still insisted that he did not owe me another refund and he only charged me once. This has now costed we $350.00 to get screwed and now I will have to make a claim with my bank. This also caused me to overdraft my bank account. Do not go to these people they are thieves. I will never be back. Do yourself a favor and go to Americas Best! I'm really disappointed in my experience today. I went in to get an eye exam to see if my prescription that I had gotten two years ago(somewhere else) was still accurate. I thought I would be seeing an optometrist but was treated by a young gal that took my "pre" tests. I thought, there's no way she can be an optometrist. There were three other gals in the office doing various tasks, and only two of them seemed to know what was going on. I ended up getting an eye contact lenses fitting because I've been wanting to get contacts for a while and thought, why not. The girl helping me had to get help from one of the more experienced gals to "fit" my eyes apparently, which entailed taking pictures of them. I felt like the whole process was un organized, confusing and unsettling. I honestly should have just left but I didn't have the balls. After the contact lenses fitting I had my regular eye exam by someone on a remote video screen who was then going to send my results to an optometrist who would give me the results within 10 minutes. I had to ask how long it was going to take because the girl didn't think to mention that, just like she failed to mention the process to me so I could feel more comfortable with what was going on! They tried to get me to buy glasses but I didn't really want to buy glasses yet because I figured I would just be getting contact lenses and didn't know how much they were going to cost and I already have a ton of glasses. My main concern coming into my appointment was to check my prescription and see if it needed altered. When I finally got the cost of the contacts I was shocked. I wish I would have known they were going to be that expensive! $175 because I had to get a 6 month or 1 year supply. They tried to pressure me into buying frames but I just wasn't ready! They said I had to get them same day to get the 50% off!!! I went ahead and put the Contacts fee of $175 on my credit card because I was so anxious at that point I wanted out of there! And I didn't want my time to have been spent for nothing!! Now I'm having buyers remorse and wondering if my contacts will even come out correct. Ugh! I feel so dumb! read more

Damn this place is a fucking joke from the beginning... Just a bunch of scam artists. And too boot they don't release your prescription. Back in 2018 I went in here because they offered free exams and a cheap pair of glasses hassle free.. so that day my exam was free but my cheap glasses they promised at a specific price turned into a 375.00 expense.. long story short, I left because every computer in the store was broke.. so here we are in 2019 on the 18th of January in Salem at vision works trying to obtain my RX from Stanton.. on the phone for 20minutes and shit you not was disconnected 3 times only to hear them say that they weren't able to fax my RX to vision works because there computer system was down!! Fuck me, when is there computer system not down?!?! I understand there are people out there who might be enticed by Stanton's deals or on a budget but shit... They will scam you every which way possible, even something as simple as obtaining an RX which technically is your personal info. So please save yourself the trouble and hassle and do business with someone else we're.... Like vision works.. read more

If I could rate this company with a half star I would. Do not give this company your business. I have bought three pairs of glasses from Stanton Optical, each of them took at least four weeks to get, one pair took six weeks. The only reason I bought three pairs was that I was up-sold their 'frame package' which was my first mistake. If that's not discouraging enough, I soon realized that Stanton's business strategy is one that includes lying to the customers about why their glasses are not ready. On one order alone, their excuses included, a fire at the lab, a hurricane and a new supplier. This company is not only mis-managed but they are unethical and I predict will be out of business soon. Wow, where to begin? This is the second review I have written about Stanton Optical. In May, I went in for an eye exam and new glasses. Eye exam was basically skyped and my vision in it wasn't clear and I told them so but the staff said that's normal (huh?) and the prescription would be right. Wrong! When glasses arrived (wrong frames BTW) my vision wasn't clear. Told staff again. It'll adjust, they said. Don't worry they said. Every time I had to go in, they said the same thing. It's now mid September and I still can't see with these glasses and am now getting headaches when I try to wear them. We'll make it right, they said. Come back in and we'll have a real person do the exam and we'll even throw in a pair of sunglasses with all the bells and whistles for free. I now hate coming in, I told them. It'll be okay, come on in, they said (Katrina actually). So I make an appointment, show up exactly on time, and am ignored by ALL the staff working that day. I listen to them trying to see bells and whistles to a guy who just keeps telling them he just wants a plain pair of basic glasses. After 10 minutes of listening to them badger this poor guy and COMPLETELY IGNORE ME (not even a we'll be with you in a minute) I left. I called and told them to have Katrina e-mail me because now I want everything in writing. Katrina hasn't contacted me at all!!! She's apparently the GM but who knows? So all her we're so sorry for your experience was just company BS. So I contact costumer service and Marcelo contacts me and offers the same thing (sunglasses must be Stanton's loss leader for unhappy customers). I email him back and ask to be contacted by his supervisor, and surprise, surprise, haven't heard squat from Marcelo, the supervisor, or Katrina since. I have asked twice, in writing, for a refund so I can go somewhere I can trust since I DO NOT TRUST ANYONE AT STANTON OPTICAL AND NEITHER SHOULD ANYONE ELSE. They have ignored my request for a refund. It will cost me more than they will refund to go somewhere else and start the process all over again but I am willing to do that. This has been the ABSOLUTELY WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD getting new glasses and their customer service skills are non-existent at all their levels. Excellent experience. Staff were friendly and polite, and were very open to helping me select frames that worked with my face and hair/eyes. Many places like to tout all the frames as good options and will not give opinions one way or another, but the staff here was willing to outright say which glasses looked better on me than others and which didn't work at all, which I really appreciate. Everything was well organized and they were willing to walk me through pricing and selection every step of the way. I've been stressed about getting new glasses for months but I'm glad this was the place I ended up going to, it was a great experience and felt more friendly than most places. Another bonus - my glasses will be ready the day after my visit! They make lenses in-house so it doesn't take weeks, which is a major plus since I will be leaving town soon and didn't expect to be able to get them so quickly! I was also able to make an appointment the same day, only a few hours after I first called. The fastest experience I've ever had between scheduling, exam, and receiving the actual glasses. read more

While I cannot speak for others my experience with Stanton Optical was not what I had expected. 1st of all, the "technicians" are not what I would call qualified to perform eye exams...I spent over $300 expecting to recive said lenses...I did not. I fact I received the basic CR-39 (CR-39) lenses that are the base lenses, not the poly-carbonate/ transitions I had paid for! In fact I was sold a pair of eyeglasses that where worse than my current prescription, which was why I was there in the 1st place! I would not recommend nor do I understand how this business model can operate from such a critical aspect of providing the customer the EXACT correct eye exam! Having their eye exams done via a teleprompter located in Florida does not impart much confidence in the process let alone understand what that technician is saying since I don't understand such a foreign dialect of english! Look...If you need some fashion statement I suppose this place is fine...However if you actually need an accurate pair of glasses look elsewhere. I spent the last 3 months attempting to and finally receiving my hard earned money returned to me! I cannot stress enough that the buyer beware regarding to and specifically about this Stanton optical location. read more
