Thank you! I think this is the second time a Visionworks store has saved me. Today, I fell walking to work and broke my glasses just 2 weeks after getting them. I sheepishly called the store who allowed me to purchase a warranty and pay the small copay. They didn't have the glasses in store, but within 10 minutes, I received a callback that they had found another store, told them my story and I could go in and swap out my broken frame for a small fee. We got to the Columbia Tech Center store by 7pm and by 7.15 my glasses were fixed/replaced and I was on the way. So grateful for this great service. Thank you. read more

I've gone to many other places and it never fails my glasses are off. I've been to this place twice. The first time was in March before the pandemic. My nose pads fell off. I went in and Diane quickly and efficiently replaced the nose pads as well as adjusting them. I have astigmatism with prism. Proper adjustment is vital other wise my glasses hurt more than help. Most places done do a good job but Diane got them perfectly aligned. There was also no charge for the nose pads. I ended up getting a cute pink glasses case. My second visit was a few days ago. My lens fell out. I rushed to the mall with some help. Diane helped me again. She quickly replaced the screws and put in the lens in no time. She is very talented and works quickly. I hope she gets a raise some day soon. I'll deff be coming back. read more

A brief history of your narrator: For the first 40+ years of my life, I had uncorrected 20/20 vision. I never had to worry about glasses. Then the mid-40's hit, I realized my arms were not growing and I could no longer hold things far enough away to read my phone or computer. The natural aging process hit me like they hit most and I quickly became dependent on glasses for reading and soon after that for seeing at a distance. Definition of (45+) Terror: The frames to your glasses break and the "spare pair" that you have is not the current prescription. You are about to start 2 weeks away from home where you are expected to make presentations to your senior management. Your last glasses prescription is over 2 years old. It's Sunday. How will life as I know it possibly continue? Definition of hero: Visionworks is open on Sunday, they have eyeglass frames that fit the lenses I have. The helpful staff person takes the time to fit my lenses to the new frames and I am out the door in 30 minutes. The Happy Ending: The meetings went on as scheduled, I was able to read my notes, share the information without looking like any more of a dork than usual. I didn't crash the car or hand over $10 bills thinking they were only $1 bills. I could read the text messages telling me where I needed to be and when to be there. Back from 2 weeks on the road, I get a new eyeglass prescription, take it directly to Visionworks and expect to have both a new pair of my standard glasses and a specialized "computer vision" pair on the way to me. These guys ROCK and by ROCK I mean they made my life a whole lot easier than any of their competitors could have. I will be coming back again when I need more glasses, service like theirs is hard to find. read more

The lab specialist is punctual and informs me if everything he is doing before he does it to make sure its to my standards. Sales team is professional and not pushy what so ever. Tim, the lab tech on shift assured me that he could have any frames I picked ready to go within the hour; brilliant news! As I wrote before after my 2020 visit here, my recent exam by Dr. Dizon and his nice team was very thorough, but unlike their previous location where the initial eye tests were done in a darkened room, this current location does not have a darkened room, so you get all the light from the waiting area behind your back, making it more difficult to focus without distractions. If nothing else, get a curtain to block the backlight. And for god's sake, how expensive could a rolling chair be to move easily between the four instruments!? My expensive prescription glasses has bubbles on the lenses. They said it is because of softener on the clothing that i used to clean it. They said i need new lenses for another $270!!!! I have been wearing glasses for 23 years this is the first time this ever happened to me! I wish they told me about this when i picked up my glasses 4 months ago!!!! It is not a good nor honest business in my opinion. I am very careful with my glasses. If they told me this in the beginning i would even buy their cleaning products! Edited 12/15/14- They replaced my lenses for free, even upgraded my lenses free of charge. Manager called me up after I sent an e-mail to corporate office and solved this problem. Still does not make sense how come lenses can get bubbled up like that, and didn't like the way they didn't solve it the first time. I understand with mass market shops like this or lenscrafters, it is hard to get consistent service, so it's also important to praise the good employees that provide good service. Ryan provided excellent service, even though there was not a sale to be made (and apparently he didn't get the holiday weekend off). short cropped hair, glasses, maybe six feet tall, three kids (after talking with him as he helped with my glasses) The good, they have a large selection of frames, I was looking to replace mine with a similar style, light wire, full frame, rectangle lenses. they actually did have one suitable. But I'm not quite ready to buy until my insurance is kicking in. I mentioned the problem i have with the current frame is that the ear pieces are worn at the end. the salesman says that based on the age, it's time to replace however I do have the option to repair them as temporary fix. Price to fix, zero. The Great, Ryan does the repair on the spot, no charge, no attitude or pressure to buy, no damage done to the frame. He says just remember to buy at visionworks when it's time to get new glasses. That's the right way to treat people and do business. read more

Been a regular here for at least 10 years. Eye exam for myself and my 6 year old daughter. Staff and doctor were fantastic as always. Daughter got new glasses and the lady who helped us was amazing as well. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Liars!!! They tried to tell me they worked with my insurance co and that I had $250 left, but I should buy them and submit my bill to the insurance co rather than have them submit and I could get a free pair. Guess what? I called Moda and #1, I only had $60 bucks left and #2. They don't work with Vision Works. So what would have happened? I would have paid $300 plus for these glasses and not got a dollar back. Awesome. Great way to do business. While I was there being lied to I noticed a lot of older folks buying glasses there. Went in last night to pick up my glasses since I got a call they were ready. When I walked in one of the girls, a heavy set women with short black hair (didn't catch her name) walked over and I told her I was there to pick up my glasses. She very rudely said that they were super busy and I'd have to wait. There were 2 people in the store, both being helped. She went back to her chair with the customer she was helping. Me not really sure why shouldn't couldn't just hand me my glasses, waited..with a 6 and 3 year old... we tried tons of glasses on.. played on my phone.. they ate a bag of Pirates booty popcorn.. after about 30 min of trying to entertain 2 kids a lady walked in and up the counter.. the other girl working left her customer and handed the lady that JUST walked in her glasses from behind the desk. I immediately went over and said umm..why have I been waiting 30 min when she just walked right in and got her glasses? She said to me because she didn't want a line to pile up. No apology, nothing. She continues to help the lady that just walked in, cleaning her glasses, making sure they fit.. finally I said please just give me my glasses so I can get out of here. She handed them to me and very rudely says ..yeah here! I'm not sure why I was treated like this?? I wish I never stepped foot in this place. Ruined my night being treated like crap. Seem quite helpful. I got my eye exam here and have come back to get glasses. It would be nice if they offered some kind of discount for using the eye doctor on sight. The process on their low end glasses are good but as you work your way up about the same as everywhere else. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a guy who works there who could communicate with me in ASL (American Sign Language). Never in my life that I had equal access! I did have interpreters before... but not the same!!! I'm strong believer in equal access! This guy, Louis, is amazing!! He could understand me clearly!! Love him!! Hope he gets to work there a long time! I will refer him to all of my friends! My wife and I both needed to renew our prescriptions and get new glasses. We went to Visionworks at Clackamas and we were very pleased with everything from the Dr.'s exam and throughout the rest of the process. We were treated both professionally and courteously. We both ended up getting prescription regular glasses as well as perscription sunglasses. When we went back to pick up the glasses and have them fitted the gentleman (Tony), who is the lab person there, was awsome! He was very patient and knowledgeable. My wife has long eyelashes and they rubbed aginst the lens of every pair she has owned for years now. She had almost resigned herself to trimming her eye lashes but after about 20 minutes Tony was able to take care of the issue and at the same time adjust the glasses so they fit perfectly. Very insufficient staffing for a mall store. I have been waiting for 1hour and basically ignored the entire time. I was next in line but somehow got skipped while the lady helped the next person who came in after me. If my insurance covered better for me to go elsewhere I would in a heart beat. Certainly not a place I'd recommend or return to. Apparently they don't care how long a customer has to wait and my time means zero! Very disappointed. I researched several eye care businesses before I purchased my prescription eye glasses and sunglasses. I decided on Visionworks primarily because of their two for one sale. It was expensive but competitive to other stores. I ordered almost all the accessories I needed which always runs up the cost. Bernie the Ophthalmologist introduced herself and was a joy to interact with. Bernie has very good taste and ability to explain which frame is best and why. A friend was with me and both agreed on the same frames. This made selection so much easier. Having two beautiful women agree on the same thing, and telling you how handsome I looked. I picked up my eye wear seven days after purchasing. I will need to go in to have each frame readjusted, but, this is normal. Good job Bernie and Visionworks. GCG read more

The guy that helped me was completely rude and condescending. I found out later he was the general manager of the place. They have no interest in what your insurance covers. When I showed him my insurance coverage so I could buy something it covers he actually said "I have no idea, that's not my paperwork." The gal he passed me off to when he thought I might actually buy something was much nicer, but I wouldn't shop here if it wasn't one of the only places my insurance works through. He also called me his "patient" which I'm pretty sure is illegal when you aren't a medical professional. Go elsewhere if you can afford to. read more

Dr. Derstine at the Clackamas Town Center Binyon's (now Visionworks) has been our family eye doctor for years. He is patient, thorough and professional. I always hated eye exams until I started going to him! I have multiple eye issues (allergic to preservatives, lots of astigmatism and meibomian gland dysfunction - very dry eyes) and he does a great job helping me manage them. I may not always get my glasses here but I always make sure to have my eye exams here. read more

Dr. Derstine was fantastic. I was having a severe reaction to some allergen, and my regular MD couldn't solve it. My eyes had been watering for weeks. I went in to see Dr. Derstine, he gave me a thorough exam, and prescribed eye drops that solved the problem. read more

I have worked in retail for about 15 years and it very annoying when your not greeted by the staff when you enter the shop. I was in there for about 5 minutes trying on glasses. There was two ladies near the counter talking about their personal issues and they definitely saw me entering the shop.
