Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would suggest not trying to use any Groupon offers as that only results in higher prices. You also won't get any two for 59.95 unless you have single vision lenses and want unattractive frames. The staff seem to have a hard time listening to their patients / Customers. I have to have progressive lenses, and I hate how far down the section for reading is and requested at least 4 different times that they place it a bit higher especially with the size difference of these new frames... Nope. It's further down to the point I have to hold my glasses higher up to even read. This is so frustrating, I should have learned my lesson from the last time. I asked for one pair to be sunglasses and when I got them neither pair were sunglasses. I regret everything about this visit. read more

They encourage you to send them a business referral. They will not give you a referral discount. The women are super flirty with the men but dry to the women. Didn't tell me my glasses would take 10-14 days. Very unprofessional and not informative. Please go somewhere else. My last time getting an exam from them. I told them that I could not see at all. Where to begin. Let's start with the 2 for $79, same day is the claim. But you can only get Plastic lenses only any upgrades are way overpriced. -Poor selection of frames. I think the whole store should be 2 for $79. Nothing special about any of their frames. I had to hunt for the 2/for frames in between all the others. That seems tricky. -The eye exam was virtual someone on the screen maybe not even in the country. Don't expect an in person visit with an optometrist. -Same day glasses but only 1 pair was same day. -They quoted me $180 for transition lenses and Eye Guy right across the street quoted $80. Anti glare way over priced at 86 dollars. Worst $79 I will never spend in that store again. I do not recommend. Davis highway is Vision city. If you can wait go somewhere else. Just not worth throwing money down the drain even z79 for two. I've been going to eyeglass world since forever but decided to try them for the same day benefit. Next time I'll wait. Be careful and do your research before you even get the exam. Bogo glasses are bogus! They wanted to charge me over $1,000 for bogo glasses! Absolute horrible experience. If you are in your mid 40's you will be told loudly that you do not have single vision so you will not get same day glasses. Customer service is the worse as they are not able to give me a status on the frames I ordered 5 days ago and you can forget contacting the physical store as they do not pick up the phone or return calls. absolutely awful.. there is no doctor here they cannot dilate your eyes so they give you a referral. they sit you down and connect you to a doctor i can barely understand in india on a computer to do my exam. there is no doctor in the room or building. and then i have to be my own cashier at the end and use a machine i'm not paid or knowledgeable how to use!? oh and to top it all off since there's no doctor in the building i didn't get my eyes dilated they have to refer me to another doctor because a doctor has to do it so now i have to pay for another eye exam because this building doesn't have qualified doctors in house.. are you kidding me.. what a joke.. i did not go to communist india for my exam.. i am in america.. never again. edit: the prescription they gave me was wrong! i am having to pay for a second appointment elsewhere where there is actually a doctor on site! i paid for the glasses with the prescription they gave me and i was blind as a bat when i put them on! once i leave here i am going to get a refund because i have now taken monetary damage due to medical malpractice! edit: foreign lady, sylvia, at the front desk that barely speaks in english was extremely rude! refused to give a refund! i am going to a lawyer for medical malpractice! i should have known better when i walked in and saw that every single employee was from a third world country and barely spoke english! if you read all of the one-star reviews they say the exact same thing you will not get the correct prescriptions here they will charge you and charge you and give you the wrong thing and not give you your money back! read more

Scheduled an appointment for 5:15pm. 45 minutes later somehow I still have two people ahead of me. There is only one person helping patients (poor girl!!) and I haven't even seen the optometrist walk by. Do they exist here or are they only trying to sell frames. For my first time, I was satisfied with my visit overall. At first walking in for my eye exam, there wasn't anyone who'd spoken to me for awhile since they were all with customers already, so i proceeded to look at glasses to kill time. After a while, someone approached me & lead me to the eye exam area in the back ( there should be a sign directing new people there on the front desk in times when there's no one at that desk ). The customer service was extremely friendly & helpful after that. It made up for the long wait in the beginning and towards the end at checkout. They did explain they were short-staffed so i understood. I only recommend to have a sign for those who walk in and are new on where to go, as well as greeting guests to accommodate them in the right direction. read more

My initial visit in December was to get corrective lenses for the very first time and it just so happened it was Roxanna's first day at Stanton and I was her first patient. Because I had never worn contacts I waited a while before going back because one wasn't feeling right. The person there tried to help but when I left I still had problems with the one contact. When I went back a week later Roxanna was there and she told me she would ensure my total satisfaction that day. She really listened to me even though I was having difficulty describing what I was feeling. In a very short time she was able to get exactly what I needed. I had a great experience at Stanton Optical! so its kind of weird seeing all these bad reviews. I made an appointment the day before and got to the store around 10 minutes early. I was seen maybe 5 minutes afterwards,I wasn't expecting to be seen so quickly. At first it's awkward being seen by a optometrist via video call, but i'm not one to mind. The eye exam was super quick and an all around easy process compared to other places I've had eye exams. When it came time to pick out my frames I had great help. Brian helped me pick out the perfect frames and even recommended places for lunch. Both of my glasses were ready in under 2 hours, never have I had that kind of service when it came to glasses. Everything was great except for one hiccup. Chose Stanton because they were open on a holiday, able to see me the same day for an exam, and had reasonable prices. The only issue was that I signed in on the wrong clipboard and it took an hour before I figured out why I wasn't being seen. Got this as a groupon gift for my fiance. The groupon couldn't be used because he also needed an eye evaluation for contacts, which was fine. For his eye examination, it was completely impersonal. The physician is not in the room with you and you're prompted via a physician on screen. Our problem was that his prescription was put in wrong. His lenses had to be reordered 3 times. Each tome the wait was 2 weeks in order to receive the new lenses. They ended up throwing away his old lenses so his glasses were useless. He was suck with old lenses and one trial pair of contacts. Because his groupon wasnt used, I was going to use it but after this experience I ended up canceling my appointment. read more

I called to make an appointment after seeing a deal on Groupon. After inquiring, I was told that they DID accept my insurance. I could use that or I could use a deal they were running for a free eye exam and BOGO glasses. Either way, seemed like a good deal, even with an hour drive to get there. I waited about 15 minutes after getting there, then started filling out forms. While filling out the forms, a lady asked me about my insurance. I verified which one I had and she said they do not accept my insurance, and since I already have insurance I do not qualify for the free exam. I asked why I was told they did take my insurance on the phone. She said in a sarcastic tone, that it wasn't her on the phone and nothing she could do about it. Here is what I learned: Stanton Optical had me drive an hour just to be aggravated. Do not go to Stanton Optical. I will be happier. Do not trust anything Stanton Optical tells you on the phone. Stanton Optical will flat out lie to you on the phone. If they would not have lied to me, I would not have to give a bad review. There would be no review to give. They don't take my insurance, nothing can be done about that. A lot of places don't take my insurance. Stanton O ptical did not need to lie to me and say they did. There was nothing to gain. In fact they wasted the appointment slot. Unless they thought I would pay out of pocket to a company that lies to customers since I was already there. Just so you know, that was not going to happen... I went to the Fifty Dollar Eye Guy as a walk in and after telling them what Stanton Optical did, they made everything right at a better cost. read more

You know when you see when other people have really awful experiences at a place and you go to that place and immediately regret it? That happened to me at Stanton Optical. I read mixed reviews and decided to suck it up and try it out since it's just an eye exam. I don't need new frames, I just need to get my lenses replaced due to scratches. THAT'S IT. When you first walk in the door all you see is frames. The counter is at the very back, so that should tell you how they value customers. We are customers after all, not patients. I came in before my appointment at 2 pm to see if they could take me early. They say they take walk ins and they didn't seem busy but apparently they just couldn't handle the patient load so they couldn't take me (fine, no biggie)...as I checked in I was explaining nicely how it was a shame I couldn't get in (I wasn't upset at all) and this employee (no name tag) said rudely "well the doctor needs a break at some point today." So I let that one slide because maybe she's stressed out. We've all had rough days. Then she said I could "go ahead and get the hard part over with" and look for frames while I was waiting on the doctor. I told her (again) that I don't need frames and I wasn't looking for frames. She looked at me like I had 2 heads. Whatever. So I waited and waited and waited and during my wait, another employee approached me and just started talking my ear off. I felt like he was hitting on me at first and then I just felt like he was super bored and needed someone to talk to? It was like 25 minutes of nothing but him talking about Pensacola and fun stuff to do and what he likes to do around town... ...okay? I couldn't walk away, I was in the waiting area! So at that point it was 2 pm when my appointment was actually scheduled. The doctor was not back from his apparently much needed break so a technician offered to start my test before he got back. (I never understood his name but it starts with a B.) Okay great let's do this. She took my glasses and did my lens exam with no problems. Then she said the doc would have to just sign off and we'll be done. (For the record, I was expecting an entire exam, dilation and all, due to some previous health issues. Dilation usually takes place during an exam. She did not check inside my eyes at all.) So she gave my paperwork to the employee at the front who apparently is in charge of the front of house/frames department. Her name is Mary. She was the only one I could tell was wearing a name tag. When the other employee gave her my paperwork, she was very confused. She wondered why I wasn't getting frames and kept looking at my file like I was some kind of specimen. This is my first visit!!! There's nothing in my file Mary! I want lenses! For like the 8th time since I walked in, I ONLY WANT LENSES. So she asked if I wanted the plastic lenses or more durable ones. I chose the durable ones which Mary said are $199. On their handy dandy chart, it appears that the $199 price comes with the frames, as it literally says "frames included." So I asked Mary about that, because I didn't need frames. She said the frames are NOT included, they're extra. (Huh??) I won't delve into that conversation because it was really unproductive. I asked why I didn't have my eyes dilated, and she said I "have to ask for it." What? Since when? How is someone supposed to know (other than those of us who do, obviously) that they need their eyes dilated?? They only dilate on request?! I also asked about contacts and they said the doctor would have to do that too. So why, at 2:25, has the doctor not shown up yet??? Why is my eye exam being done by a technician instead of the doctor?? And then he walked in. Dr. B. It gets no better. I asked why I didn't see him at 2 pm instead of the other person. He said "well I need a break at some point" Then followed up with "it's kinda a corporate company...so sometimes they don't tell me when I have appointments, and they list all the appointments the same way. Whether they're retail appointments or exam appointments." So basically it will be a roulette chance that you will see a doctor, or not see a doctor. Insane. So THEN he told me that he "didn't like the way she did it." He didn't like the way the technician got my prescription and he wanted to re-do it. It was 35 minutes past my appointment time. I had already been there for an hour. So he proceeded to treat me like he was doing me a favor!! He said "it's fine, we'll schedule you in and we'll get your exam redone." I was like no friend, I'm getting an exam NOW or I won't be coming back. Chances are slim anyway. He said he wants me to put in a "formal complaint." So I left. I will not continue business with this company. Something is going on at this place. Horrible customer service, no one is friendly, they're all confused...the vibe is just...bad. Don't. The exam is performed by an online eye Dr, They went thru the exam two times and both times when they checked the prescription he could not read an eye chart on the third attempt the remote Dr said ok your all done and did not check the prescription to see if he could actually read with the prescription, so then the get moved over to check frames and of course the only frames for the 2 pair of glasses and "free" eye exam are porn star frames and they only have 5 hideous frames to chose from, so they bait and switch my wife over to the expensive frames and with no confidence that the prescription is even correct my wife decided to leave and go elsewhere but of course NOT without having to pay $59 for the worthless exam on an incomplete unconfirmed prescription. What a complete bait and switch scam, this place should be called scammer optical. Oct 28 2020 I purchased two pair of reading glasses from Stanton Optical for my Wife, a year later a weld on the spring inside of the temple piece failed and the temple came off. I brought the glasses back to them and they said "The frame was discontinued" and I would have to purchase a new frame because the warranty was out, I said OK could you find a frame that the lenses would fit? They said "Leave the glasses and they would call me in a couple of hours. Six hours later I haven't heard back so I called the stores phone number, I was connected to a Nationwide automated phone answering system where I menu selected my way through "Talk to customer service" then "If you are an existing customer" upon selecting I was put in a hold status, I was on hold 20 minutes, I hung up thinking I was misplaced and called back and after being on hold again this time for 15 minutes I called back a 3rd time but this time rather than selecting "Existing customer" I selected "New customer" Immediately I was connected to the store, a store operator intercepted the call and I explained that I had left a pair of glasses that morning and was told I would be called back in two hours and I gave the persons name who I was dealing with. Back on hold again, another 15 minutes, now 15 minutes doesn't sound like much but you time it (I did) and see how long it really is.. Well, I hung up again and repeated the process, immediately again got the store operator first time (I asked the operator what location he was at and confirmed it was that store I went to) another "On hold" this time I gave up after 10 minutes. I told my Wife "Lets let the day finish out to see if I get a call before store closing" we did, no call. Second day: I waited until 10am, no call, so I went to the store to pick them back up, the person that waited on me had to find the one that I dealt with yesterday (I saw her in the back of the optical lab) to find out where they were, the person that waited on me came up front and took a bin from the top of a shelf out front and there they were, in the same drawstring cloth bag in a bin along with other customers glasses, not been touched. She asked me: "Would you like me to see if I can find a frame to fit them?" I politely responded "No thank you, but thanks for offering" (It wasn't her fault, she didn't do anything wrong but at that point I was so done with Stanton Optical) #1 Shoddy merchandise #2 Poor customer service, doesn't keep promises. #3 Phone system geared to new sales and not loyal to existing customers I would bypass Stanton Optical as a resource for glasses. read more

Great Service!!!! Thank you to Jessica who helped me so much when I came in to order more contacts right before we ran into a few challenges. As she completed my transaction I looked over and spotted a cute pair of shades and asked "Can I get these as well" and she rang them in, began to clean them for me and I said "Oh no, I need them with the prescription" *side note* I was on a very important call (which I apologized for) and she went to work getting the payment reversed and adding what I needed. The computer became a challenge and other managers had to step in to help as well and this took some time. Jessica was so patient and kind as they worked through the kinks and got me hooked up with more than enough before leaving the store. As an imperfect customer on this day ( I try to be easy and simple) The Stanton team in Pensacola showed me great service and I APPRECIATE that soooooo much! There is NO doctor on the premises. The appointments are by skype and they try and keep it a secret! They put our kid in the room and closed the door, we questioned how he had an eye exam with no one else in the room and got brushed off, and then asked our son and he explained what happened. I feel as if they should tell you up front that the doctor is not on the premises. We bought two pairs of glasses for our son. They put super thick glasses in thin frames and the frames broke. We paid extra for the insurance and we are paying for new frames, yet again! The replacement insurance is crap. It is nothing but high pitched sales, I felt as if I were at a used car dealtership buying the worst car on the lot. I will never, ever go back!!! read more
