On Friday I took my parents to a new exam that was very much needed. Upon arrival the staff was very helpful and welcoming. The process of their eye exams was quick and effective. There is also a variety of frame options available. Upon paying for the eyeglasses the price was out of our budget but sales associate Jesus was very helpful and tries his best to save us money and he did. Both my Roomate and I go to Stranton for our glasses. I n my opinion they are wonderful. We normally deal with Julie or Jose both of them are star employees. Due to a medical issue I have I fall often and my glasses seem to always get damaged. However Julie and Jose always take care of us and fix my glasses like new at no cost. Today while my roommate was having his frames repaired by Julie, I was browsing around and found a new frame I really liked. It is time for a new exam, so I needed to tell Julie I would need to come back since I was on my way to another appointment. Julie was so nice to take the frames and put the code in my file so when I go back in I would not need to find them again. The staff there are very nice and have always stood by their products. Julie and Jose have made the location on Murphy Canyon rd. My favorite store and they are both so nice and you can tell they love what they do. Julie seems to be very valuable, to that store she is able to multi-task with other customers and answer questions for other staff, without missing a beat with what she is working on. I went in on 2/21/2022, Monday and got an eye exam and picked out my two pairs of frames for my new glasses. I got the first set back on 03/04/2022, Friday, almost 2 weeks later as they said, time wise. The next pair was to be done on Monday, 03/07/2022. I go in to pick them up, and they report the frames I picked were out of stock. No call to me in the pass two weeks. The take a pair of frames of the wall and reported to me, they would put a rush on them. They told me by the latest, 3/21/2022. I call them before driving in, they report, that they are done and just waiting for U.P.S to deliver them to the store. Calling in every two days. They tell me, they will be by Friday, 3/25/2022. On Friday, they said, Monday, 03/28/2022. Still on Glasses. This place is a joke of a business. Will never use them again. They make up new stores why the pair of glasses are not in. BAD customer service. Future customers, beware of this place. Update - At 10:20am, on 3/29 I got a text, Good news, your order is ready for pick up at Stanton Optical San Diego. So I drive over at 2pm on my lunch break, I go into the store, and they tell me, No glasses yet. I show them my phone with the text. Been to Stanton over the last few years and was content with the product for the value and good customer service. Went in recently with my adult daughter who looks like a teenager to get her glasses adjusted. Noor helped her with her frame and asked my daughter if she had google. She then bluntly said to her that she would fix her frame if she would write a review as she was adjusting the frame. I find this very unscrupulous. I should have trusted the reviews that I saw before going but like always I try to give everyone the benefit of doubt. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS BUSINESS! You will end up regretting it and spending more for just trying to save a couple of bucks. I came in back in June 2022 and spent good money for 1 pair of glasses since my insurance was not available here. I paid for all the extra stuff like the anti-glare etc. in less than 6 months my glasses began chipping and just not looking good at all. Mind you I have worn glasses all my life and never has this happened to me. I took them into the store and right away they blamed me and questioned how I was keeping them clean. Because I didn't get the "$25 protection" they said they would not be able to get them replaced. I explained to them that I was never offered that or even knew that was a thing. So they said they if I paid the $25 protection right there and then that they would order me new ones free at cost. This was back on January 7 and I still did not receive my glasses even though I was calling weekly to check in and visited the store twice always been patient and understanding. Their excuse was that there was a blizzard in Texas that cause shipment to be delayed so that's why I never was upset because duh they can't control the weather. But come on this is going on 3 months? Are you kidding me. I am someone that needs to wear glasses 24/7 because of my high astigmatism so understand my frustration. I went in today finally again trying to see what's going on. The lady in the front of course is just not caring about my situation and then explains that the blizzard caused many shipments to get lost so of course this made me angry because I've come in multiple times, called customer service and was NEVER TOLD MY SHIPMENT WAS LOST!!!! I was just told that my glasses should be coming in soon and always the same BS! So I asked for a refund for the full product since now I have neither and was told sorry can only give you back the $25 protection price and now we can't re-order you your glasses. This company is quite ridiculous, they advertise the price of frames without mentioning how expensive the glass is, which would be fine if the glasses were actually a decent quality. the glasses i brought home had a scratch on the frame, but by the time i was at the store the following week the warranty was already finished so they couldn't reorder it without charging us, so the clerk's solution was to use the sample frame and switch the lenses over. After about a month my frame snapped at the top of the frame on the nose part. the glass apparently didn't fit right since it wasn't made as one cohesive set.. all of which i could just be disappointed on but now the screws are coming out of the legs from the bottom.. the quality sucks, i will NEVER recommend stanton optical.. i'm so dissapo read more

Amazing service, state of the art technology for exams that are such a time saver, large selection, and most of all convenient. Used VSO benefits and had enough to mostly cover one prescription pair of glasses and one pair of sunglasses. The appointment times were plentiful Eye exam was thorough and fast Service was excellent and attentive Price was slightly steep but the glasses are quality and you get what you pay for. I came in to this location 9 FEB 19 JUST for a full exam. The gentleman that was assisting with my exam was great! Going into the exam room I was thrown off that there was a person doing the exam remotely. After my exam the guy tells me it'll be a 20 min wait for the offsite doc to sign off on. my prescription. Cool! No problem. He tells me that he'll email me my prescription because it would take a while longer. Cool. While I was waiting to price out, this Clark Kent looking dude came to attempt to bait me into buying glasses. I said no thank you. I just want to pay. He mumbles something about having a coupon and getting to super cheap for me. I say no, I came in JUST for the exam. He goes to get who I assume is the manager...and HE tries to get me to buy. I say no. He says, how about a second pair? I said no thank you. I have 3 other pairs of glasses. So he gruffly holds out his hand and goes 89 bucks. I finish my sale. 2 days later..no script still. So I contacted corporate. 4 days later nothing still. I talked to Carolyn today who said she'd send it haha but didn't. I finalllllyyyy get a number to corporate where the individual on the other end tells me that the branch is having system issues and that they'd been informed (since the beginning of Feb) to have customers contact corporate since they couldn't print. The pushy sale thing is off putting. I was quoted 225 for a single pair of glasses. You're better off going to walmart. Its the same price. ****Edit! After speaking with corporate, I was informed that there was a technical fault within their system and they weren't able to print or enter anything into their computer system. 2 weeks ago, I went into their location at stonecrest to get an eye exam and came out with a Rx. I have astigmatism and their Rx said i didn't. That should of been a red flag. Using their Rx, I ordered a pair of glasses online through Zenni, like have been for the past 10 yrs. With their Rx, I have to wear the glasses on the tip of my nose 2 inches away from my eyes to see anything. I just returned from a real optometrist who is onsite and found out Stanton Rx was too strong. Their Rx was over by -1.25 on the right eye and -1.50 on the left eye. $45 eye exam down the drain. $90 for a pair of high index glasses down the drain. They don't have an optometrist in house. The exam is done by remote control and the off premise doctor is supposed to read results and write a prescription. I was there for two solid hours trying to get glasses-i have never spent that long. And most of that time was waiting on the optometrist, it seemed. The optician I had was very good, but he can't finish an order without the doctor's input. The icing on the cake was being slightly overcharged because they rushed on the receipt knowing how long I had been there. This is my first time using an optical shop that was not a true optometry office, and I won't do it again. If you have vision insurance, there's no advantage or discount to coming here. If you don't, and you have a lot of time to spare it may be worth considering. And this shop can do walk ins, which could be convenient for some folks. read more

I had an eye exam here a few months ago, and the exam was as unprofessional as it gets. My eye exam was with an offsite doctor through video conferencing. The doctor would give me two options "this, or this", but would display 3 options to me eyes. So yes, it was very confusing. Needless to say, the doctor was cutting in and out the entire time, so it was difficult to ask questions. I am posting this several months later because I need a contact exam, and Stanton Optical was so bad, I have to find somewhere else to get my contact exam :/ read more

Steer clear from this place! I went to get my eye exam and it's was on a zoom call. And then they try to sell you the most expensive glasses and tells you that your glasses will arrive two weeks after the eye exam. I only received one email for one pair so I went to pick up that one pair. Tell me why when I took off my contacts to try on my pair, the prescription was so blurry and I instantly got a headache. The lady there tried to blame my contacts for the blurriness of the glasses. Uh no, I've had glasses before and this place is one of the reasons we need universal healthcare so places like this don't take advantage of people with their vision!! I asked for a refund and was told that I'll get it in one week. I'll report back if I ever got it. I'd should've gone to Costco where there's a live person doing your vision exam. I walked into the store today for new glasses. I initially went for the advertised special but found different frames I liked. Daniel, was very welcoming and helped me look for frames. I spent over an hour trying on glasses without any pressure on constant hovering. He did offer suggestions without feeling like a 'sales person'. What really stood out was when other customers entered the store. He politely excused himself to acknowledge other customers but I still felt like a customer. After selected my frames the lense selection and glare protection was a breeze! There was no 'upselling' that I have experienced at other eye glass stores. The manager , Michael, was also very friendly to all customers in the store. The selection of glasses was huge, to say the least. I plan to tell many about the great service and selection. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE. I got there at 8:55 am for a 9:00 appointment an no one was there so I sat outside on the curb waiting. At 9:02, two women arrived and proceded to open the door. I got up off the curb and proceeded to enter the store when I was SCREAMED at that the store was not open and they did not clock in yet. I said my appointmnt is at 9 and the store opens at 9. I guess you're late. They screamed at me again that it was NOT 9:00 and then closed and locked the door on me and made we wait outside until 9:10. When I was finally allowed to enter I asked one of the women what the other woman's name was that screamed at me first and she said rudely "Her name is she did not clock in yet". I will never go to that store or any other Stanton optical stores ever again. This was beyond unacceptable. I have never been screamed at like this in my life by 2 extremely unprofessional store employees. Stanton needs to take a long hard look at whom they are hiring and do a better screening process and hite people that know how to speak to customers. The eye exam was standard and quick. They said that it would take about two weeks to get my new glasses in which is extremely fast in general but especially with Covid circumstances. I understand in person exams are not safe right now and preferred that it was virtual, but the doctor hung up so fast I couldn't ask any of the questions I had, which is the only reason I'm taking off a star The real star of the day was Jesus!
