Loved my experience at Stanton optical! Baylee helped me out and hooked me up with a great deal!

Look! I'm back. I've had issues with this store and Stanton Optical as a whole yet again. I've called to request a copy of my Rx, so I can purchase contacts anywhere but here. I've called 4 times, and each time, I get the same run-around "Sure, I'll send it off in 15 mins." And each time, nothing has been sent. I haven't had time to go into the store itself, because it's the holidays and I've been slammed - the last place that I want to go to at the end of my day is Stanton Optical. But alas, as their employees can't manage to do their jobs and lack in customer service to any degree. Why is this place still in business? read more

Misleading, poor follow up service. I bought two pairs of glasses about 8 months ago. Paid for the extended warranty (image attached) on the lenses after the technician explained that it would enable me to replace the lenses for up to two years for 20% of the cost. I went in with the glasses wanting to change the lenses (which had scratched - despite having paid for a "hard coat") and was told that since my prescription had changed the extended warranty didn't apply. The extended warranty only replaces lenses at the original prescription. Read the small print, don't believe what you are told here. read more

I LOVE Santee Stanton Optical! It was my first time here and had been a couple of years since my last eye exam. I scheduled an appointment on their website which was VERY easy and took only 5 minutes. The costumer service CANNOT BE BEAT! When I entered, I was immediately greeted and checked in. I only had to fill out one form and then was ushered into a room for a pre-check of my eyes (to determine if I needed to start browsing for frames). I can't remember her name but she had short blonde hair and was super helpful and kind. Matthew was also another great staff member! He helped me break down the pricing on my glasses which was reassuring to know that I wasn't going to go broke on this new glasses endeavor I was taking. He was very accommodating and had a great attitude! I ended up walking out of there with two pairs of glasses and a pair of sunglasses for way less than $300! Talk about a steal! When I paid for my frames, the doctor took me into an examination room where I performed the actual test of my eyes to see which prescription my new frames would hold. The test was very simple and the doctor was very personable but still very professional! She put my mind at ease and talked me through every step. There is an enormous selection of frames that lined all four walls of the building. It was my first time needing glasses so I really appreciated the range they offered. Style, color, kids, you name it they probably have it. My glasses took about an hour to fill since it was lunch hours. Which I though was still really quick. I think this place is totally misleading in their adds. The eye exam is NOT free. They ask for $45.00 up front, "in case you dont buy glasses". The selection for free frames is about 8-10 out of hundreds. And then we were told it does not include the lenses. $160.00 later we got 2 pair of very cheap glasses with substandard frames. All I can hope for is that the perscription is correct. After reading other Yelp reviews, Something I should have done 1st. I see that getting your prescription correct doesn't always happen. They mislead you to get you in there then the "salesmen" upsell you. Stick to Walmart. read more

Very good service. The optometrist is very detailed and take her time to measure as best as she can. The front desk enployees are friendly and helpfull. The $79 package is very limited and prices goes up very quick once you choose a diferent frame and and ad ons to the original prescription. I choose to pay cash and get that pair of glasses to keep it on my cars and will use my insurance somewhere else to buy one good pair withh all the extras. read more

I stopped by in the afternoon needing a new pair of glasses after my only pair broke. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, I explained that I was traveling on business the next day and they were able to give me an eye exam and two new pairs of glasses in two hours. I am extremely satisfied with their professionalism and will be buying future glasses from Stanton again! Went in bc I was way overdue for some new glasses. Got an appt the day and time I needed, did a virtual eye exam with the doctor and all went well. Amenah was super nice and helpful when trying to decide which frames complimented my face shape. Baylee was up front when i picked up and sized all pairs to my specific needs and did a great job. Friendly, courteous staff. They were very helpful and attentive in assisting me in finding the frames I liked, even calling other stores to find a frame that they only had 1 of in the store. The Eye Exam was simple and went very quickly but was very thorough. My wife also had a great experience with her exam. My wife and I need Bi-focals so I have to wait 2 weeks to get our glasses but that is still quicker than we expected . My last Eye Exam and purchase was with E/W and they were rude and had to mail my glasses to me, which took 1 month, and I had to take them back twice because the first time the 1 frame was wrong and the second time the left lens was wrong. In closing I would like to say: So far I am VERY happy with Stanton and I will never go to E/W again. So take that Mr. World! STANTON!!! read more

This place sucks ... I scheduled my appointment 2 weeks ago and left work early to arrive on time. I get into the parking lot and they call me and cancel. Saying the doctor had an emergency . I walked in and they write down on a piece of paper the same deal they have on the window. So then i made an appointment for a week later on saturday . I go in and i told them what happened last time and they didnt seem to care. I get checked in and show them my insurance and they say they dont accept it. Even though the guy i scheduled with reassured me that they do. This place sucks and i will never go back . I will also tell everyone i know where NOT to go for glasses . read more

The only reason they are getting a two was for the male employee , out of all the employees he is the only one to give us a smile. The female receptionist was not happy about being there on Labor Day. She has no knowledge of the contact promotion not her fault, her fault was a bad attitude about it. She kept checking back and fourth with someone in a office "Daisy" and that person never came out to talk to us, only relaying information to this girl for 20 mthat was not happy. Lousy corporation! Long story short the promo was bs and the girl that was going to do the initial exam didn't look like she had good hygiene. We left and told them we had no confidence in Stanton. It's really too bad as they are around the corner from my home. On another note they have very cheap looking lenses. Stanton responded just by a plain sorry. I see similar reviews. read more

I made an appointment for 9:45. Arrived right on time and had to wait ten minutes for them to check my temperature. Then I sat around for an hour for my exam. I finally got fed up and just left. I have never been to a location where I had to wait a whole hour after my appointment time and there was no end in site for the wait as there were at least two customers ahead of me. Weird that they have you make appointments if they're not going to bother sticking to them. I won't be back. read more

He even took time to explain different types of lenses and helped me choose the best one to fit my needs. He helped me go over Costs and insurance benefits to make sure that I was getting the best deal. I highly recommend working with Nick when you go in. I've been going to this place for almost 2-3 yrs now, to do my glasses. I always get the upmost help from the people that work there. But I've seem to always run into 1 person that been working their since I've been coming. Amenah is her name. She is outstanding. She always tries to go above and beyond for me. I came in the other day to renew my glasses/prescription, and she helped me out a lot, and at one point I found out that the lens I have were not going to be around for another 2 weeks and I have to leave for a vacation, and she offered to see if other places might have it, to get it sooner. I declined her helped but it was really nice of her to ask. 10/10 Customer service and the prices are all there and laid in front of you. Easy, fast and affordable. I went there today and was thoroughly impressed - EVERY staff member was ready to help, friendly, inviting, concerned, and most of all PATIENT. The team REALLY cares to make sure you get the lens that you are fully satisfied with. They each went out of their way to search the whole store for the exact lens that I was looking for, unlike some places that seem irritated with indecisive customers. Nick was especially helpful with getting me a great deal, didn't try to up sell me on extras I didn't need, and was patient even after closing hours until I found what I wanted. After two hours of a rushed eye exam and a lot of waiting around we were going to talk about frames when I asked if they took my insurance (which their website says they do) and they don't. They offered me their plan and even with that I had a copay of $25 just to get the results of my exam. Uh, my insurance is a $0 copay for exams. I left immediately and won't be back!! I went in for the $99 special for two pairs of transitional bifocals + eye exam. Unfortunately my current job does not offer vision insurance so I needed to make my money go as far as possible. From beginning to end, manager Destiny and her team made us feel welcome, important and taken care of. Everything was disinfected as the exam went along and even with all of the restrictions in place we were very comfortable the entire time we were there. The employees are upbeat, professional and happy in their work, and they worked with me as far as price without making me feel like a poverty case. I HIGHLY recommend this location for your optical needs! read more

Chose this place because it was a convenient location to my area. I was off work on a Monday and called them at 9 AM when they opened. After waiting until 11 am appointment, another 40 minutes in the store for an eye exam and 30 minutes after picking a pair of frames. This is my first pair of glasses, and after paying for the rest of what my insurance wouldn't cover, I walked out for about $120 for frames and lenses. They didn't have my glasses in stock so we were told 7-10 days. Today was day 10, and I had not heard from anyone yet so I called. Only to be told it would be another 7 days. They were able to expedite the order, but overall I was not impressed and will not be returning. read more

Shoutout to Dr. Rosa, Destinee, and Jonathan. They made what could have been a nightmare into a great situation and a good deal for me. I needed to renew my prescription for my contacts quickly. I was linked by my insurance providers website to Stanton Optical's website during a late night search . I hastily made a next day appointment for 11:30 am in hopes to get in and out and contacts on order. In the morning before heading out, I called to confirm my appointment just because it was last minute. It showed up in their system and I headed on over. When I arrived someone else was already being helped but I was greeted in a short time by Destinee who has a bubbly and fun personality. I was handed off to Jonathan who was not only friendly but quick and efficient in checking me in. All of the patient check ins are done on the iPad which was convenient and allowed the staff to engage fully with anyone else in the store while cutting down on paper waste. Dr. Rosa is one cool dude and I was sad to learn that he is retired as I would love to have him as a regular eye doctor. Concluding the eye exam with prescription in hand, I approached the counter to pay. My heart dropped when I learned that Stanton Optical did not accept my insurance. Usually whenever I have my yearly eye exam I always make sure to ask but I was in such a hurry with my busy schedule that I completely forgot to confirm. I explained my situation to Destinee and she completely understood. She worked out a discount with me and was able to provide me with paperwork to give to my insurance for a possible out of network reimbursement. The simple fact that they were so understanding and treated me like a human will keep me going back even though they are not an in network provider. There was no sales pressure felt at all yet I was given options to add on additional without feeling like they wanted my money. I will 100% continue to order my contacts through them rather than another company and when I'm due for frames, I'll for sure be coming back.
