Had a lovely experience here. I came to look for a new computer chair for my home office. As soon as I walked in, I saw a gaming chair and it seemed very comfortable. I went toward the back where I was directed but felt the initial chair was best. It was a decent price and I went with it. I paid the extra $25 or so for warranty and assembly the employee threw in the delivery. The employee was excellent and very helpful. I have recently visited this location and am surprised to learn the amount of services offered: 1. TSA Pre Check In: the biggest discovery! This includes security screenings at over 200 airports. Game changer! 2. Tech Services: from repairs to maintenance 3. Recycling Services: electronics and ink recycling But the biggest discovery was free online returns for Amazon and other retailers merchandise. It has simplified my return process one hundred percent. I purchase regularly at Banana Republic and Gap. The return/drop off process is easy. On the respective retailer's website, I just hit Return and options appear: mail back, return in store or do a Happy Return, Happy Return offers several places such as UPS store or Staples. Then a Happy Return barcode is sent to my I Phone and present to store I selected. There is a time frame, usually return must occur within three days. At this Staples, there are two different spots to process Happy Return: one for Amazon in the rear of store and the other near the entrance. The employee scans my Happy Return barcode then each item and I'm good to go. Most retailers process refund quickly, some same day or within 1-2 days. Though normally I wouldn't frequent a place that crushed Dunder-Mifflin (this is a joke, people), this place is convenient, the products are decently priced, and the staff are all helpful. This location has added on TSA pre-check applications (I did the pre-app online, then came here and was done in about three minutes - quick and easy). They've had Amazon pickup/drop off here for a while now as well. I hope Staples stays alive simply because these services are great. And of course, Staples provides endless paper in a paper-less world (wow, two references to The Office in one review). read more

I used the copiers/printers at Staples Ft. Hamilton, recently. I was printing a graphic jpg and learned that the machines are pre-set to impose a 4-inch border on the image. This is insane! A 1-inch border is sufficient, and nobody wants their image cropped and reduced by 4 inches. It caused me to do my printing at a FedEx store. An observation. When the printing associates have free time, I don't comprehend why they're not maintaining the copiers which should be cleaned, keypads disinfected, and toner replenished. Too many times, I request products so I may clean the machine myself. And too many times the toner on my prints is much too light. There's no excuse for poor maintenance. read more

At a cost in excess of $100: 1. Had a legal doc to copy with 2-hole punch at the top. No 2-hole paper at the top available, only on "side" and would require too much time for 200+ pages; 2. The doc had to be scanned & emailed but wasn't received; when I called was put on hold for minute and then said to ck email and it was there--BUT 3. I forwarded to court before proofing and discovered pages were not in sequential order as provided--pp 4-5 were in inverse order as well as some pages at end of doc; the Court will not be able to accept it; and 4. Print of doc was too light; thought toner was turned down to light from dark, which frustrates readers when print is too light. Disappointing to say the least. won't return. read more

I came here tonight to buy Bose headset unfortunately they sold out. Geez. I had to walk 30+ blocks to get here because there was major traffic congestion. What was supposed to be an hour outing, I ended up outside for 3 - 4 hours. I was determined to get another headset. I settled for the airpods pro. I couldn't stop staring at the box on the bus. This location in every category is so much better than other locations like midwood and sheepshead bay in bklyn. The tech team are super helpful including Noel and other techs. ( Both that I had were great. They help you with all of your issues and are very patient for long periods of time. Honestly its some of the best customer service Ive had at a chain store. Then on top Christian the manager is helpful, professional and also very knowledgeable. Id like to add another star for him. I live a considerable distance away but I travel to this store because every time I come here the experience is good. Even when I went to lower level everything was super organized and neat. I have never felt more ripped off than today. I went into staples to print ONE document, that did not need to be colored. I requested for help at the desk at the staff sent me to the workstation. I went back asking if she could help me but she told me the workstation will only charge me a prepaid 10$ but not actually 10$. After printing my ONE document it charged me 14$. My document came out to 12$, which I think was ridiculous. It's 11 pages but definitely not worth 12$. She told me it's because I printed twice. Only one document came out & I knew I only printed once. Worst customer service. read more

This location is bigger (2 floors) than the one near us and lines move faster, has more inventories. No extra savings, prices are the same as all Staples. So whatever is on sale, it's on sale here. Slightly friendly staff. Cleaner, bigger parking lot. Close to some good eats in Bay Ridge and my fav CoCo tea! This place is the worst. Came here twice within a week to print something. The first time from their computer workstation, which is only connected to one printer. The singular printer was out of ink, so we told the two employees behind the counter. One of them went down to get a cartridge, came back up with a different package, went down again, came back up with the cartridge and didn't know how to put it in the printer. All of this whole time was ticking away on the computer, which charges you for every minute of use. While waiting for the cartridge we asked the manager of the print station if we could print in b&w. He said yeah, we sent it to print, and printer still needed the color cartridge. The manager literally said yeah I knew that would happen, not acknowledging that we had to pay even more for now sending two jobs to print. More recently, I printed one doc with three pages. I went to staple it, and the stapler was out of staples. I asked the employees behind the counter if they had staples and they said no. We're literally in a store called staples. I really going to this Staples location in Bay Ridge, i mostly go to buy blank Sony CD-R's and cases of bottled water because they always have good deals. They also have a nice section of Christmas items that come in handy when you have to get co-workers small gifrs. read more

I would rather have given 3.5 stars, but I'm being generous....this store is supposed to open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and we arrived at 9:05 a.m. today; we were attending a funeral in that neighborhood and I wanted to quickly get an item from Staples beforehand, since we wouldn't have time afterwards. We pulled into the parking lot (which is quite large) and the store was still closed, with two employees waiting by the door. Finally - at about 9:10 a.m. - the manager arrived. I rushed into the store and the young male employee told me (very pleasantly) that they weren't yet ready for customers, but I quickly explained my situation and he immediately helped me find the item I needed. Just updating this. I just tested out their "order online / pick up in store" from their website and it worked out very well. They have a separate desk area, so you don't need to wait in line (obviously) and you simply sign a piece of paper, after you tell them your name and item(s) you ordered. Not a fan of leaving bad reviews, but the quality and delivery of the product did not live up to its expectations. Though the wait time was super quick, upon getting my poster I was told that their team forgot to laminate the poster. The guy then proceeded to laminate it but a large section of the poster now has bubbles; that's not what I paid for. I will most definitely revisit for a return or reprint. I then went ahead and bought an easel (poster stand), but all the boxes were open. I got home and the stand barely holds the poster and doesn't have the instructions to setup the poster holder (top portion of the stand). Also, when I asked the rep behind printing services for help for an easel he just pointed and didn't offer proper help or ask for help. Disappointed. The workers are mostly friendly, but just don't depend on them to be super knowledgeable about the tech stuff. Avoid going there during back to school. Don't return Amazon packages here. I returned a package worth $116 to Amazon. The Staples Copy Center clerk refused to physically take the small box and required me to drop it off in the large plastic bin which is to the side of the counter and which ANYONE can access. Surprise, surprise.... after 10 days, there's still no UPS record of it having been shipped at all via UPS tracking and now Amazon will charge me for the package stolen from there Staples drop-off bin. I hope other people wise up and stop trusting their packages to be shipped here, whether it's an Amazon return or not. read more

I needed to send a fax yesterday and was astonished that the per-page charge to send fax at this Staples is now $1.70 per page. My seven-page fax to a local number cost me $12.88 after tax. I could have had the documents delivered overnight for that astonishing rate. Those will be the last dollars of mine Staples will ever see. For years, I'd come in to this Staples to make a copy, send a fax, pick up a school supply, and always end up getting a few other things - pens, envelopes, printer cartridges. I'm reminded that most independent drug/hardware/dollar store/cell phone repair stores in Brooklyn will charge you no more than 25 cents per page to send a fax. They know that if you come in for a last-minute errand, they might get your business on a few other things, and they are right. So they keep the price on such things low. Goodbye, Staples. read more

Store is overpriced but its the only place in the area to buy your toner, paper, and they have a decent computer repair department. No one seems to know where anything is. For back to school items i suppose its allright if you cant get to target. We are very limited in this area on our choices of shopping. This Staples was having some problems when I visited. There were cardboard boxes of merch that needed to be put on shelves. The line went from one side of the building to the other. There was no staff available to help me find anything. This place has it's own parking, which was convenient. I just wish there was a better place around Bay Ridge to get office supplies. read more

I went in last Sunday for a router. They did not have my item in stock but the clerk was very helpful in finding alternatives and in suggesting I make an online order that could be delivered home or to the store. The cashier was a tall, geeky kid with intense eyes. He kept trying to sell me insurance on the device. After saying no several times, I simply stopped talking until the transaction was done. The employees are nice but not very knowledgeable; specifically, in the print center. One employee was unfamiliar with what a USB drive is and the other didn't understand she was cropping all of the prints and adding a border, despite the prints coming out undersized (oh yea and with a border). If the year were 2003 and if Staples wasn't a functioning print center then perhaps this level of incompetence would be forgivable. This location has nice spacious parking lot. That's where the benefits end. Don't come here If you need to ship something USPS international. The staff is not capable of using their software for shipping USPS international. Then all other general drawback of Staples start to apply. The pricing of school supplies is ridiculous. I'm generally not a fan of partronizing a retail chain since customer service generally falls short of being non-existent. However, on my most recent visit to this Staples in need of their printing service, I came across the most helpful printing specialist who patiently helped me through the entire process. While she was helping me, the entire store was packed and hectic with parents/kids assuming its for back to school supplies. Although she was unable to complete my print order until the following day (there was way too many other orders ahead of mine), I left with the confidence that my order was in good hands and my judgment was correct when I went to pick up my print order the following day. The only issue I had was that the paper selection (card stock) was quite limited but the customer service was definitely appreciated. read more
