The TSA precheck service is terrible. They told me not to make an appointment. But when I got there, there were 9 people in front of me, at 10 minutes per transaction. Every time someone showed up that had an appointment it would push the line back another 10 minutes. Only one young man was working to process everyone. Estimate wait time was over two hours. I finally just left, without getting processed. When I got there, there were 9 people in front of me, and after waiting 30 minutes, I had 12 people in front of me as the appointment line kept growing and overtaking the non-appointment line. Note: even the appointment line was taking over 30 minutes. I ended up going over to Office Max on John R. It took me 7 minutes in and out! read more

Apparently, Staples current retail business model is to just take Amazon returns. I needed some random office supplies so I took the short drive this morning. I grabbed my stuff and headed to check out. Only one person working the front - cashier and Amazon returns. After watching the Amazon line keep growing with ZERO acknowledgment to the paying customers waiting to purchase stuff, I left. I recently made a purchase here for cartridge toner. At the register they attempted to charge at extra $10 when I mentioned they're overcharging. It turned out that the toner was defective spitting out spots on copies. I returned it yesterday accidentally leaving the drum on the cartridge toner. I called & went back to grab it immediately which was not there at the store which was odd when I 100% had a drum attachment before buying anything here & now I don't. In other words, the store will charge you more for certain items if they can get away with it, and if you accidentally return a defective item with one of your belongings, you will not be getting it back. read more

Do not use this place for Amazon Returns. You'll be here for half an hour. They were clearly trained by folks from the DMV and do a returns as slow as possible. And that's AFTER they make sure they' had helped out every customer buying something in the checkout line. Our place for printing paper, folders, zip-up samsonite planner, calendar fillers, postage stamps. They said that get would price match dependent on who is selling it and if it's directly sold my the main vendor, like AZ. It was $40 cheaper on amazon than here. There was only register open, woman opened another register but decreed us to someone else since we were getting a Netgear modem router. The boxes on the shelf are empty and the actual router must be provided by the cashier. The other lady had rung up 2 people while we waited. We had to go back to another register and wait back in line since the sales associate pulled us away thinking we only wanted the router. Ugh. read more

If I could give 0 stars i would. We've been using the Clawson location because we met Jeff, a salesperson years ago. He is very knowledgeable, no non-sense super easy going salesperson who has made himself accessible for advice on computers, printers, even knew our kids by name. We've purchased 6+ computers, not to mention countless printers for us/family because of him and only him. We trusted him and he has never steered us wrong. After calling him for another computer, he told me he was terminated from Staples because a customer called him the N word and, in turn, Jeff flipped him off. We are appalled at how Staples' "the Customers is always right" position by condoning hate and racism, and not standing behind by their employee. If I could give it a 0 stars I would. A lady with a cart and myself walked up to "James" register at the same time. Actually this woman was 2 steps ahead of me. I said "excuse me" to James as I had a quick question and he said to me in a stern voice " You will have to wait in line I am helping this woman here first" the woman looked at him and said "I think she just has a question?" James then says "If she wants to wait in line then I will get to her next" I'm so angry that he talked to me as if I was a child? Even the customers looked appalled by the way he spoke to me. This Staples somehow came through in the clutch when we needed a last minute print job. Now the day I went here it was chilly, cloudy, breezy, drizzly, and all around depressing but I can't help but notice that applied to the whole vibe inside here as well. It felt dark inside, and like they were having a "Going Out Of Business Sale" without actually having the sale. Impulse buys strewn about in the front of the store, reams of paper and flickering fluorescent lights gave this Staples a dreary energy. However, Tiffani came through in the clutch. It was looking like a hail mary to get a print done but she was able to quickly work it. She then saw me trying/failing to cut them with the El Cheapo paper cutter at the table and stepped up and had them all professionally cut in an instant. So thanks Tiffani. read more

I can't say enough good things about Tony. I has some pretty serious issues with a large print order and he personally took on my project and saved my deadline.... I can't say much about the regional printing facility out of which Staples produces large projects.... That is assuming they exist because they operate without anyone able to contact them... My project is still 'in production' 1 week past the deadline. No notification, no explanation, no apology....nothing. Tony saved the day. What a great face for the local Staples. As we all know, everything in Staples is completely overpriced. What cost me $70 here would have cost me less than $50 anywhere else but because the items I needed were only sold here and my job has a corporate Staples account, I had no choice. I came here two days in a row and both times, it was completely empty. With these prices, I'm not surprised. Most Staples look the same...very warehouse like. Like another reviewer said, the vibe feels like they're going out of business when they aren't. I will say, the staff saves this particular location. Every single employee that passed me said hello and offered to assist me. The cashier was very helpful and had great conversation. I drove 25 minutes to this location because it was the closest to my work. When I got to the printing station (that no one else was in line for), the lady that worked there waited to greet me until she got her things done. After waiting a couple more minutes, she proceeded to ask if I needed help (yes, I wouldn't be in line if I didn't need something). I go on to telling her that I needed something printed. She responds by telling me that "any orders placed at the time would not be done until tomorrow." I then went on and said, "I only need two copies of my resume on card stock paper." She still said the same thing. So I left because that was ridiculous!!! I've always gone to Staples for my print jobs, and have seen a 5 minute turn around for regular printing. I could understand if the store was closing soon, but it was 8pm, and the store didn't close until 10pm. To top it all off. As I got to my car in the parking lot and proceeded to leave, I saw the same lady outside taking a smoke break. Very unsatisfied with this experience. read more

I went to Staples on 10/27 to fax 1 thing & buy a few other things. The fax machine didn't say if the paper went in face up or down, I turned around to ask the cashier James (yes I made sure to read that name tag!) who was just standing there, no customers near him, my simple question. I got 2 words out of my mouth before he interrupted me with "I don't know anything about that, ask the people behind the copy center!" I said, you don't know if the paper goes face up? He replied, I'm in the middle of something, ask over there, people ask me questions all day, looking like he was about to throw a tantrum. I went to ask at the copy center, feeling very uncomfortable & a little embarrassed because of James reaction to a simple question. The woman behind the counter was very nice, professional & helpful. I faxed my document & turned around ready to go buy my items. James was at his register with 1 customer, as soon as I turned he said "I can't answer questions, I'm busy" without even looking at me. It took a second for me to realize he might be speaking to me, I said, are you talking to me? James replied "Yes, people ask me questions all day, I'm busy, I can't answer!" I said, Well isn't that what you're here for? Amazingly he didn't reply. I again was so uncomfortable & embarrassed being spoken to like that in front of other customers & employees, it was awful. I walked away, went down an aisle to find what I needed but the thought of rude James ringing me up made me change my mind real quick & I left. I have been ordering all supplies for the company where I work for many years, I wish they would shop elsewhere now! To be honest, I rarely purchase printer ink from a brick and mortar store, but I had Staples gift cards I got from a conference, and I needed ink, so I figured I'd stop in. Store is your typical Staples store, kind of pricey but oh well. I got 5 small (square-shaped) post-it pads for $5 ($1 each) and bought black ink for my printer for $27.99. Got home just now and loaded the ink, and my printer is printing blank pages ... so, the cartridge doesn't work. Awesome. -edit: I think it's my printer that is all of a sudden defective :( not the cartridge. Got a replacement cartridge from Staples the next day (good customer service, at least) and tried it out ... no dice. Yay ... read more

I use this store for work purchases mainly. The store itself is just like any other location. Not a bad thing. Each time I shop here I leave feeling not great. Last time I was here I knew it was going to be a busy day so I ordered online a few days ahead. Nothing was ready when I got here to pick it up. Someone went and gathered my things in no less time than if I'd done it myself. Today I ran in just for labels. Found them right away thanks to the helpful signs. Go to check out and the cashier seems unfriendly but I hit her with a hello and how are you. She answered fine. She rings it up, I pay, she gives my change. Now she's just looking at me. I'm expecting her to put the labels in one of the bags next to her but she just pushed them towards me. I picked it up and she wished me a nice day and I did the same. The interaction felt like I was bothering her and seemed rude. I don't think I'll be back. read more

We used this store for EVERYTHING baby shower related, spent hundreds of dollars, and then one day there was a new employee named Beth, who was literally insane. I don't know if she was having a bad day, or is always so crazy, but she was so rude and all of a sudden prices were different. When we asked to speak to the manager Greg about her behavior, he was equally as rude, even though he had seen us in there for months. We contacted corporate, and NEVER heard back! Staples sucks. I have been to this store a few times and the employees are helpful if I have a question (and once in awhile they ask if you need help as they walk by--which, as a former employee in another state, I know they're supposed to do ALL the time). But as a customer, I don't mind, because if I'm there, it's typically to get what I came for and get out as quickly as possible--having worked for the company, I know the layout of the store and where everything is so I rarely need assistance. This review gets 2 stars ONLY because I've shopped here for years and it's close to home. Today, I had an awful experience that deserves one star, or no stars if it would allow me. I was in a rush running an errand for work, and quickly found the copy paper I needed thanks to the help of a nice gentleman. He truly went above and beyond and didn't just point in a direction, he took me down that aisle. I thought that was awesome, I wish I would have caught his name. So I go to check out with my two reams of copy paper in my arms, and this employee at one of the registers is just.. staring at me? I assumed it was eye contact for "next in line" so I inch forward and she barks at me, "UM, I have a customer here." Embarrassed at the awkward situation, I backed up. The line was just me, but every other register was taken. A minute later she tells me I can bring my stuff to the counter, while rolling her eyes, mumbling about how the other customer disappeared. She asked for my phone number, I politely informed her I don't have a staples account/reward program. Since I was in my work uniform she rolls her eyes and says, "no, your work company does. Phone number??" Now she's STARING at me, like I'm an idiot. I let her know I didn't have it on me, and to forget about it (since I was in a hurry to get back to work), and she had the nerve to say even louder, "they get credit for transactions." To appease this persistent cashier, I pulled my phone out, went into my contacts, and gave her the number. The number I told her to forget about, the one I didn't want to give out because that's my choice? I hope this isn't a commission thing, because this woman's attitude was awful. After a painfully tense silence while I ran my card to pay, she set my receipt on top of the copy paper and looked at me like I was gum on the bottom of her shoe. I looked at it then back at her, she offered no bag. For two heavier items she could have double bagged. I was so over the whole transaction I grabbed my paper and got out as quickly as possible. I wish I would have gotten her name, she was middle aged, had blonde hair, and had an extremely poor attitude and no grasp of customer service. Staples should really do something about this, the company I work for places two large orders every month. They should probably pay closer attention to their employees, or they could potentially lose clients. read more

The staff at the printing & scanning center were very helpful, friendly, and efficient! I needed a 15" x 20" acrylic painting on watercolor paper scanned. It went through their large format scanner with ease. The images are very crisp at 600 dpi. I'll easily be able to use the files in Adobe Illustrator to create foldout map wedding invitations from the scanned painting. Thank you Staples team! The prices are very good too! It cost $4.71 to have several versions (jpeg & pdf) of two paintings scanned altogether. read more

I drove out of my way to go to this store because it's a Superstore and I needed a printing job done for our moving announcements that I wasn't sure was going to be an easy in and out "do" and after all this is a "Superstore". Seriously, a Staples that is closer to my home hasn't impressed me so I drove a bit further to try this one based on Jennifer's review. Score! The gal working in the print area pulled it off my thumb drive and complimented ME on it being a perfect fit for what she needed to do the job. I had a proof and was out of there in five minutes and they would be ready in two hours! I'm getting the feeling that all Staples are a bit run down these days in comparison to some other officer stores as far as upkeep/cleanliness but the product line is still there (although it is clearly invitation time of year since they didn't have 100 of the envelopes I needed in ANY of the three possible colors) nor did the manager offer to call around and find them for me which struck me as odd. Rude employees! Said hello. Was ignored. Store was not busy. "Tiffani" was annoyed to get up from her chair and do some work. Went in to print one shipping label from a hard drive. Self print doesn't work with my external hard drive. I was told that typically a "rush" job takes an hour but she would accommodate me this time. How gracious of her. I know printing one piece of paper must me exhausting when the store is empty. I will never be back here. Unless you love this type of "customer service" i would stay away! read more

Customer service for printing was kind of rude. The guy was nice enough to suggest printing my drawings "darker" so that it would show up more strongly. But it picked up and added extra marks on there (that wasn't in the drawing), so I asked him if he could lighten it up instead. The front desk lady cut in and said to me: "You can't keep on coming in here to have your stuff copied exactly like your drawings. It won't pick up all your pencil marks." She didn't even know what happened. I have not been here since last year and the comment was uncalled for. As a customer, you can ask to print as many times if the replication is defective. You DO NOT have to accept whatever they give you, customer service included. read more

Visits to the office supply store definitely don't top my list of favorite things to do. I try to avoid them at all costs, except when I need to buy ink for my printer -- its expensive, staff is usually scarce or uninterested. Its funny, especially since I was one of those geeks in high school and college that got all excited to buy fresh notebooks, binders and pens. However, visits to Staples seem a little bit less painful because of their rewards and their ink cartridge recycling programs. You earn cash back on purchases and $2 per ink cartridge recycled. And then you get their fancy (and almost too frequent) emails that often offer really good deals, surprisingly. (I often thought of office supply stores as being really overpriced). Thanks to the emails and coupons they send I was able to score a fancy shredder for around $35 online; and in store, a $100 HP printer for less than half price! When I went to get the printer in store, staff was scarce at first but then I found the manager to see if they had printer I wanted in stock. He found it for me immediately and also explained some ink program HP does. From there, he told me to holler for him as I looked around for other necessities. Check out was a breeze with a super nice girl. Actually, every time I've come to this particular location, the checkout crew has been really friendly and nice. I guess when I do have to make the dreaded trip to stock up on ink (and maybe feel nostalgic about back-to-school shopping), I'll have a Staples location that will make that experience a little bit more enjoyable. read more

I can't thank Josh at Staples enough! I had to get my save the date cards printed in a postcard style based on some designs my fabulous friend created for me. With two separate designs, I knew it might be a challenge. I first went to Staples and waited about 45 minutes for them to try to revive the recently exhausted printer with no luck. By the time I returend home, I received an email asking me to please come back and the sample cards printed turned out beautifully. I returned to Staples and Josh in the print center took his time to get my save the dates right. He tried 9 to 10 times (due to various printing problems, mistakes, and complicatins) and we sat there for over an hour waiting before we received 100 beautiful save the date cards that were better than we could have imagined. When things didn't turn out right, we mentioned them and he made the changes (although I could see he was getting slightly frustrated) while keeping a line of other customers happy. He was the only person working in the print center and gave everybody equal attention. I left very happy and will be back! Do not waste your time anywhere else. read more

A great place to buy cheap office supplies at expensive prices. Needed a metal mesh pencil holder and desk organizer. They were like $25. Got them for $9 at Target. Staples has such terrible prices they don't sell anything to consumers. Not even those crappy particle board furniture pieces made by seemingly made up companies like "Sauder". So nothing gets sold and in turn the prices get marked up creating an endless cycle that will only end in bankruptcy. Go to Staples if you want to die inside. read more
