People are not lying when they say this is one of the worst places to go if you actually want anything right or on time. The lines are always long, the employees are totally unhelpful, and nothing ever works. Pay for same day printing? Too bad, the machines broke and nobody bothered to call you and let you know before you came in. Want to mail some packages? Oops, the printing machines are broken so you'll need to walk a few aves over to the post office (worth it, its big and clean and functional!). Its clear they don't have the resources to run this place or the equipment properly. Given the clear high volume and need of the community for these services, it would really behoove Staples to get this store in order. read more

Just an update; So I filed a complaint in Small Claims Court back in March. Was given a court date for May 1st, 2014. I showed up, STAPLES Inc., did not show up. I was sent to an arbitrator who after hearing my complaint & looking at my photo's & videos ruled in my favor. I received a check for the damages via UPS yesterday. The system works! The WORST service ever. I emailed my stuff over to them to help me manage my time for the day. I put my number in the email in case they needed any more info. Not only did they not call to let me know the job was done(since they never did it), when I got there they said it wasn't ready because they couldn't open one attachment. Why did they not call me? I would have figured out getting there earlier. Then the snobby( or stoned) guy could not have moved slower in the not offering any help to my situation. Thank god I brought my drive. He used that to print my job but then disappeared. I had to get someone else to retrieve my stuff. Ask someone else for a bag, then another person to actually charge me. After my disastrous experience with a junior-supervisor over a bad print-out, Rick the senior supervisor made all things right. He offered to redo the print job and the company give me a complimentary $10 coupon. Rick is the type of person I enjoy doing business with because he cares about customer service. Ask for Rick. I asked this guy for an item and he has me standing here waiting while he hangs out by the register. The store manager then tells me the item is at the register when I get there it's the wrong item. So the manager goes to the back and brings out the wrong item again, without letting me see it before he hands it to the cashier. read more

This Staples is extremely understaffed. You will be waiting for over 30 minutes of you want to print or scan something.

Needed to print some documents so came here in the morning to see every single self serve computer and printer out of order. When I went up to ask the customer representative about it, he first SHUSHED ME while pretending to be on the phone, and when I asked him again he said "it crashed 15 minutes ago we don't know". Figured I'd try to return in the evening...... Still out of order. 6 hours had past and they hadn't fixed it. Truly useless. read more

This is not a review of the staff; the one dude stationed at this location did his best to manage four different customers while also dealing with several malfunctioning malfunctioning machines and zero help. Here's an idea: instead of spending significant amounts of money on fancy looking machines that don't work, get a couple of old school multi-functional models and a pay for another human being to come help this guy out. read more

This copy center is horrible. I went in yesterday not one of the customer use copy machines was fully functional. The majority of the staff was hanging out in the back room having a great happy time. One staff was trying to assist with the malfunctioning machines...the refunds and complaints. The had run out of 8.5x11 paper for the copy machines! I needed to send a 10 page fax...after many attempts it went through in two parts. However the recipient got 30 pages! They charged me more than $15 for this "service" ! On the "Complimentary Self-Serve Fax Cover Sheet" it says, "We'll do it right the first time - guaranteed." Wonder what that actually means. read more

Worst location I have ever been to! Waited in line to get postage for over 45 minutes and ended up leaving! They make customers enter all their own information into their mailing system which causes a massive slow down because no one understands their computer system. Truthfully, this place deserves 0 stars. For anyone looking to apply downstairs, I advise you to think twice... I used to volunteer here & since I've been here, I've witnessed nothing but negative energy from them towards both customers and other workers. Genuinely, I used to try my hardest in everything I did but nothing was ever good enough for them.. Most of the workers have an attitude problem with everyone, ESPECIALLY the supervisors. They are so unprofessional, they've insulted me and my fellow workers CONSTANTLY while we were there... I wasn't even getting paid by them for them to talk down on me everyday that I clocked in. They've also insulted the loss of one of my relatives during that time, and my supervisor was about to let me go because my socks were showing in my uniform only ONCE... I don't understand because I was always the nicest I can be to all of them. They are unfair, judgemental, & BIAS... That place all together is just overall mean and horrible PERIOD. Not to mention they had me do things that wasn't even in my job description but I did it anyway!! I needed things printed for work on two occasions recently. I came to this Staples and was assisted by Rick and Rafael, respectively. Both were incredibly understanding of my need for a rush order and both were complete job-savers!!! If I didn't get my stuff printed in a timely manner, I could have lost my job. This is about the copying/printing area. In theory, one can print from email, DropBox or USB drive. In fact, one can not. The people working there were nice and plainly trying to make things work, but it appears that the equipment is just lousy. Unfortunately, I've had similar experiences at other Staples, so I don't think this problem is unique to 125th Street. Really unfortunate, but I won't be returning. read more

Negative stars for wasting my money and everyone's lives. After going all over the city just to print one email I got to this hellhole. Employees were hanging out outside and informed me they open at 12. "You're a half hour early", they said before opening the door and going back inside. Yes, I know what time it is. What national chain opens at noon anyway? Ok, it's a Sunday-I get it. Waited outside as a large crowd gathered trying to get things done at a reasonable time, which maybe should hint toward the need for an earlier opening. Once the doors were opened, nothing was on. The computers had to all be booted up which took 15 minutes as some repeatedly booted over and over. Once they finally came on, the browser wouldn't read my email and when it finally did and I tried to print it, every printer was down. The manager said we couldn't print anything (THIS IS A COPY AND PRINT STORE) and said we could email our stuff to them but it would take AN HOUR to print something out. Meanwhile, my card was being charged for internet time and a copy that didn't print. Seeing as this is how they run a business, I can only imagine how long it would take to refund my card so I just got up and left. You would think all the time the doors were locked they could have at least turned on the computers so they were ready. Instead it was just a mass of confusion and pissed off people. I walked down the street to Fed Ex and was literally out in five minutes with my copy. read more

Staples needs to hire more employees and stop being cheap!!! The employees they have that I have encountered are nice, knowledgeable, and friendly, but overworked. I visited the store recently and waited in line for 25 minutes!!! This is unacceptable!!!! And don't even think of trying to mail something via UPS or the USPS (express mail, priority mail) through Staples. You will be in line forever just for them to tell you to create a label. After that, then you can mail your package. It takes less time at the post office or at home to do so. I don't like wasting time, so I only come to Staples now when I buy something online and want to pick it up in the store. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is their closest location to me but I refuse to come here ever again since they always fail to help me. Once you walk in their faces are bothered by your presence. You will wait on a long line for printing services but you will probably waste your time or wait a lot more. They do not want to work. They all direct you to use the self services even if you cannot do it yourself. I have come here to print a couple of pages but with an specific format with an special paper and I have told them it has to be printed from one of their computers because they do not allow me to change the paper myself and because the format would be wrong. I waste a few cents showing them what I mean and then they say I have to change the format in a computer and I tell them that the format is right but the self serving machines do not print it right and anyways I want another paper. You would think they would do what I say since I have already waste time and money and it's just a couple of pages but no. They offered me to drop my document to be picked up another day because they were busy. However, they are walking in the back doing nothing and even make customers wait on line just to be this unhelpful again. Someone needs to teach these people customer service skills and hire people who really want to work. read more

Wish I had read the reviews before I came. Needed to use the color printer. Computer was extremely slow, costing me more money of course. Prints came out terrible because the printer was low on ink, which I didn't know beforehand obviously. Prints I made are useless. No one was around to help. Very well organized and clean store. I was not only greeted as soon as I arrived but asked one of the workers on the sales floor to ring me up and he promptly hopped on a register. My only complaint is the incessant up-selling during checkout. I know Staples probably requires the cashiers to do so, but it's an antiquated, ineffective policy that does nothing but annoy customers. Oh, and it was absolutely dead in there. I hope that's not a sign of low business, as I would hate to see this store close down. read more

We should be able to assign no stars for this location! I tried to place a very large print order for a my school during the holiday. Unfortunatly the associate that was working in the printing department had no understanding of what I needed done. She was slow and lacked customer service skills. It took me an hour and forty minutes to place my actual order. All the while, the phone in the printing department constantly rang while the employees walked past ignoring the phone. Customers that lacked basic computer and printing knowlege were not offered any assistance, they were pretty much turned away. The manager from the Staples Supply department had to come up to the printing department at least 3 times to relay customer phone complaints. One cusotomer was calling all the way from California with regards to a package that she had mailed out from the 125th street location earlier that month and she noticed that the package had still not arrived. The print department managers disregarded her concerns and said that there was nothing that they could do about it. The sales associates all move as slow as molasses when it comes to helping customers. I placed an order and was told that I would have to wait to recieve a quote for my order and that I would recieive a call later that evening. Unfortunalty, I never recieved the phone call and when I tried to contact the printing department of course I was given a run around and placed on hold. I did not want to have to make the trip back down to 125th street however, I am sure that I will have to go in person to get the wheels turning on this project that i need completed. I was outraged by the lack of support to the elderly population. There should be staff avaiable to help assist these cusotmers that do not have an understanding of how to use emails, copy machines and other devices. They should not be turned away so eailsy. This Staples location is awful, and I am specifically talking about the rewards program. The staff has given me incorrect information, not allowing me to cash in my supposed rewards valued at $20. When I call the 800 number for customer service as directed by the store and speak to a manager, they were quite rude and blame the staff at the location. The ink return program is misleading and has been advertised falsely. I have been buying ink at Staples for fifteen years, and yet they make it so complicate to get a few dollars back for returning ink it makes my head spin. I have been a rewards member for fifteen years, and have yet to reap ONE SINGLE REWARD or benefit all this time. This overly complicated system is a TOTAL SCAM. read more

This is about the print and copy center. Went at 9:15 am Saturday 9/24 to download and print 2 pages. The computers will not accept chip cards. One person working behind counter, 10 people lined up. Not helpful, refuses to leave counter area, tells me that Staples swipe machine have problems with chips. Tells me to buy staples card to use machines. Staples card dispenses 3 or 4 damaged cards. Staples card machine will not accept chip card. Eventually get manager to held, which took 10 minutes of myself and others going downstairs. Get card w/ cash, told I can get refund of balance. Takes forever to log in. Get my two copies. Get refund of balance of staples card. Leave. Resolve never go back. read more

wasted my time trying to get a job in this place . first off not only do you do a application u have to pass an assessment test which the recruiter told me i passed with "flying colors " . went in for my first interview and then a week later did my second not only are they unprofessional by rescheduling interviews and having you wait a hour when u go for a interview after u had a time to be there but then loosing your resume that you gave them at the first interview . they are acting like they are hiring for the white house or something i'm a college student , single mother , high school graduate , have experience and great customer service went business dressed and sick and didn't even reschedule . these people could've told me on the spot u don't have the job instead she rather say she doesn't want to "waste her time hiring me if i can't work the hours she needs me to work " which i told her i can . haven't heard back from them but i'm pretty sure if they are waiting till september to say i got the job for this seasonal position they lost a great hard worker because they want to be on a high horse and have high standards in the heart of HARLEM . it's not like they need the most educated smartest person in the world for this job . on top of them having me come in for the second interview which i didn't think was normal and asked the general manager about she caught an attitude " cause that's the process " .... rick here was a pleasure and i would've loved working for him but the other manager obviously will bring this place down . if you look at their other reviews this place isn't the best and now i see why because they don't hire people who would get them good reviews instead want unprofessional people and this is why the world is the way it is it's hard for high school graduates who want to work to find work but those who have no education and hop from job to job get jobs in the snap of a finger . read more
