I work at a local nonprofit and on more than one occasion, Columbia Copy Center has saved the day with excellent service, meticulous attention to detail, and the best prices I have found throughout the borough of Manhattan. I had a print job that I had planned to do in-house but found (close to deadline) that it required more complicated handling --including precise positioning and several cuts -- than we had the capacity to do in the quantity needed. **This is not a review for their actual services** I was walking up Broadway with my boyfriend around 9am when we were suddenly assaulted by a homeless person who was clearly mentally ill or inebriated/on drugs. The person chased us across the street and then up the street for a block before we dove into Columbia Copy Center out of desperation. The man working there (I didn't get his name) immediately recognized our distress and locked the door behind us, right as the person chasing us arrived and tried to force his way in. The worker was extremely calm and helpful, keeping us safe and giving us the shop address as we called the police. Thank you, Columbia Copy Center! read more

I used to use this place all the time and loved it; I guess different management now? Went in on Sat. to send a 2-day FedEx envelope, was told it would cost $64 including a weekend pickup surcharge, or $48 for a Monday pickup. On Monday I went to the actual FedEx store on 116th St. and paid $24.30 for the exact same service. It's legit to add a convenience surcharge (maybe $5 - $10?), but this seems kinda nuts. When I asked what time the Saturday pickup time cutoff was, the guy looked at his watch and said "You're about to miss it." I guess the pickup is at pay-me-now o'clock. read more

I don't think anyone expects a great deal coming to a copy center. But, most people who use them are probably in some kinda of urgent situation. It's a local business, if that's your thing. Tip: if you're making copies, ask how the machine works. Sounds silly, but it's not the most intuitive thing and they charge you for all made, regardless if it is usable. read more

These guys are shady. I brought a package in that was 14x10x6 and weighed 3lbs. They tried to charge me $26 for their least expensive ground option. They then charged me $2 more for Insurance on a $100 insures item. Totaling $28+. I pulled up my eBay app and plugged in the something "they measured" and it showed as $14.00 shipping cost with a $2.00 eBay user discount... they didn't have a good answer as to why there was a difference. I had them refund me and went two blocks down to UPS who measured the box at 10x12x6 and 3 lbs.. for $14 and $100 Insurance included. read more

Meh, if you really need to copy something and you're too lazy to go to Staples, which is nonexistent in this area, this should be your last resort. I had to print one .pdf and have it faxed. I came here in a rush and was charged $5.25 to print and fax. Pricey. It costs .10 to print and $1.63 to fax at staples. Just go to Staples. read more

These are so shady. If I could give zero star I would. I asked for a scan, he photocopied. Then after he finishes, he charges me $7 which is fine. I opened my email. It's completely black and white. Why would anyone ask for a black and white scan? So I asked him to scan with colors. He said that's an additional $5 for the first page and $3 for the second page. seriously? read more

After forcing me to wait while he runs downstairs for something, he then comes up to say "sorry my lunch just began so come back in 15 min"...even though the door is wide open for clients to come in for service? I understand everyone takes lunch but I I told him he needs to finish helping the customer that has already been waiting patiently before he begins lunch. I had a really positive experience at Columbia Copy Center! It is definitely a smaller space but I found that the employees took a great attention to detail in assisting me with a scanning project. I had to scan and email about 60 pages and the entire transaction took less than 10 minutes. Just an FYI there is a 10$ card minimum. I was very impressed with the care they took of my documents and how polite the employees were. read more

The young man working there downloaded my photo file from my cell phone and uploaded it to the computer. I called the police, but he deleted the files before the cops were able to show up! I returned a week later to get 2 black and white copies only because I needed them. He decided to charge me extra. Columbia copy center needs to fire its employees are unprofessional and thieves. I should not have to pay a dollar extra for each copy I sent over an email. 2 black and white photos costs me $2.50 and should have been just .50 cents. Which is much more than what their sign says it's supposed to be 12 cents for a copy. This place is a scam. read more

Basic copy shop that is perfect for your printing needs. The guy who works there was super friendly and also incredibly efficient. I was able to email him what I needed print it and he had it ready within minutes before I even arrived. Saved me the hassle and the stress of a trip to Staples or FedEx. Went here to get a document scanned. The place is expensive ($3 for first page and 50 cent per subsequent page) but what bothered me more was that you can't scan the document yourself. The guy behind the counter does, and it's not as simple as scanned directly to an email address from the printer. He downloads the document onto his computer and he sends it to your desired email. There's no guarantee he wouldn't read it or even to delete the document after it's been sent. So beware, if you have a sensitive document you do not want to use the service here. read more

I have had one experience here and it was not good. Like most people needing to use this kind of facility, it was out of desperation. I followed the Yelp link to their website and was impressed to see that they had a nice feature where you could upload your print job, put in your info (including FedEx # if you wanted it shipped) and it would be ready for you to pick up. I show up to pick up my stuff and the guy has no clue what I'm talking about. He tells me to check the inbox on the computer and nothing was there. Finally I showed him the website and he said "oooooh I never seen this before". So basically if you're waiting for your print job to arrive via FedEx you'll be waiting a loooong time. Close to Columbia University, and the staff - awesome. I did not have cash and they accepted cash only, and they let me come back on my next trip to pay the cost of copies. Yes, it was not alot but, the opportunity they gave to other customers that came in to do the same thing afforded the generosity and trust this copy center extends to its customers. read more
