On March 27, 2026, at approximately 9:00 AM, I went to Staples to purchase a clearance office chair. What should have been a simple in-and-out transaction turned into one of the most aggressive, uncomfortable retail experiences I've had in a long time. While waiting in line, I watched the sales associate essentially badger the customer ahead of me about an "extended protection plan." This wasn't a quick offer--it was a drawn-out, repetitive pitch that continued even after the customer said "no" multiple times. It was obvious the associate had no intention of taking no for an answer. Then it was my turn--and the exact same script started again. I declined the protection plan immediately. That should have been the end of it. Instead, the associate kept pushing, repeating the same talking points over and over as if ignoring a clear refusal was part of the sales strategy. At that point, it stopped feeling like a retail interaction and started feeling like straight-up harassment. Let's be clear: the chair I purchased already includes a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty (Sharper Image). Trying to stack an additional $80 "protection plan" on top of that is, at best, unnecessary--and at worst, predatory toward customers who don't know any better. This isn't "good salesmanship." This is pressure-driven upselling that ignores basic customer boundaries. Management needs to take a hard look at what's happening at the register here. If this is how employees are trained to operate, it's a serious problem. I placed 2 print orders on Friday night, with expected delivery by 5:30 PM on Saturday. At 1:30 PM on Saturday, I receive a call from the store saying they cannot fulfill my order because they did not have enough paper for 1000 copies. My issue was lack of communication for more than half day. I had to get it done from somewhere else paying extra. Terrible service, terrible communication and by the way I am yet to receive credit for my canceled orders. read more

Horrible experience stood in line for 5 min+ just now just to ask a question about undated calendars. I had spent 10 minutes looking on my own. No one on the floor to help, guy at the register looked at me with a blank stare and just shrugged like I was speaking a different language. Absolutely did not care to call a manager or more experienced person to help me so I just left. It was not busy. There were a couple of people in line. You can have something delivered by Amazon before someone is willing to help you at this store. So sad, But the writing is on the wall for this location read more

Giving credit where credit is due. We had an issue with our order and the store did the research and figured out why it was cancelled. They fixed it, printed it while we were there and got it all out to us. We then shipped 9 packages and the second associate we worked with was very patient. He also gave us a tip on downloading Staples Connect app, which saved us a fair amount. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. It's a stressful season for them but they are handling it like absolute professionals. read more

The worst printing customer service ever. I have been in multiple times and everytime I have to wait 10+ minutes to even have an employee come over and ask what I need to pick up. Once they come over the whole interaction is less than 2 minutes to give me what I am here to pick up. Instead they have multiple employees behind the computer trying to work on something together. read more

Unhelpful. Employee refused to bring an item to the front (said there weren't any) so we had to go retrieve it ourselves. Print area also had a long line and only got help when she had to go to lunch. So still only one person helping. When I'd been in the store the previous week, they didn't even have the print cartridge I needed, so not sure why I'd go back. read more

Had some laminating done... the young man was friendly and fast! Had my stuff done, and cut, in 20 minutes! At a great price! Great place to go for all your printing, copying and laminating needs. Also found a great price on a new planner, while I waited! read more

I've had quiet a few problems at this location in the past. After not shopping with them for about 6 months I was forced to swing in as my Amazon order didn't arrive and I needed it for my business that day. I approached someone as the item I wanted was out of stock. Immediately the associate I spoke with knew about the product and knew exactly where the back stock was located. He even referenced a bad yelp review where someone scolded them for not having this item in stock ever. It was mine! I was very impressed by the way Derin handled the situation. He got me all of what I needed, walked me to the front and gave me a couple of his business cards in case I ever needed anything else. He even gave me his cell if I needed something ready on my way into work. Unlike past experiences the cashiers were engaged, pleasant and efficient. It was really refreshing to see their management step up, reflect on the reviews posted and make appropriate changes. It's not easy to change culture in retail. Derin going above and beyond will make me become a regular customer again. It was the first time I felt valued while shopping at this location. Friendly greeters are there the minute you walk in the door. I love this as when you go to a Office supply store you are there for a reason and can wonder aimlessly and it's like a treasure hunt looking for your item. Great service!! I started shopping here because the OfficeMax closed nearby and although I liked the OfficeMax, this is now where I will shop for paper, ink., etc from now own. The one think I really like about Staples is the way the isles are laid out. They run back to front versus side to side and for a long time retailer like myself, it makes it easier to find stuff. They have expert staff located throughout the store to help you should you have any questions. My quest this day was to purchase ink and paper which I did with ease and yes it was about the same price as OfficeMax...so I am now a Staples customer. read more

Rude employees. I watched a male employee in printing treat a woman who was obviously technologically challenged in such a demeaning, condescending manner. She ultimately just walked out because she couldn't figure out how to print her documents and instead of asking if he could assist, the guy just walked away as if he had more important manners to tend to. But when the hard drive went out their lack of customer service was astounding. I have never received more uncaring service in my life. I get confused on how business cards will get printed when I'm placing an order online. I hesitate at the part where you choose whether or not you want it within the safe zone, and risk having white borders. Caitlyn, at the Print department, saved me the headache. I ordered a 1TB internal hard drive for a PC/Laptop. I asked 4 different employees including the professional in that section, and they all swore up and down that this drive would not work on a PlayStation 4. My PlayStation was having a common safe mode problem so I had to replace the hard drive. Easy to install and works perfectly on my PlayStation. They clearly don't know their products. Gotta know your products if you're going to recommend to buy them. read more

I came here last Saturday 11/10 around 2pm to laminate a business card. I was told price was $4 if done immediately or $2 if I want to pick it up around closing time. I looked around for a second and saw a completely empty store, with about 5 employees standing together just in the printing section doing absolutely nothing. I asked "why cant you charge me $2 and do it right now since you all seem to be free, it'd take you a second". He said "we cant because that's against Staples rules". Sorry Staff @ Southlake Staples. I brought in an ergonomic desk chair in Monday (11/26) that I had purchased from them two years earlier for $379 needing assistance with a problem I was having with it. I did not want a replacement. The center pneumatic post had sunk down so far that it was rubbing on the ground. I had already received a replacement part from Staples.com, but I was having trouble getting the original post off. I asked for a store manager and "Veronica" (I believe that is her name) showed up with her tattoos and piercings. She didn't bother introducing herself or really say anything, so I told her my issue and she said she could not do anything since I didn't purchase the extended warranty. (The chair I purchased had a five year parts warranty), but she didn't know or care about that. Another female employee showed up and she told me "they knew how to assemble the chairs, but didn't know how to take them apart". Another male employee showed up and said if he had a screwdriver he might be able to get it apart. At that point I told all of them it appears I am on my own and thanked the manager "for nothing" and left the store. Needless to say I was very disappointed in how the manager responded to my request. Apparently she needs some more customer service training or a different job! The people are that greeted me were nice enough and my experience was still loads better than what I experienced at the Dallas location, however I don't think i'll be going back to staples in general for any form of business needs. I was unsatisfied with my products both times and I am out of chances to give. It wasn't the worst I have ever had but it wasn't what I asked for. The card stock I wanted was unavailable, so they gave me standard which felt cheep and honestly the gloss finish seems to blur the pictures and give the effect that you printed it on a home computer on photo paper but slipped a little. The manager was not professional but he did give me my money back. The people who answered the phone were pleasant and patient though. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE store. Don't NOT I repeat do NOT drop off any packages here. I went up to front desk because it was my first time there is didn't know where to leave package. The guy wanted to know what was in it and he tried to open it. I told him it was just a drop off so I ignored it and went to drop off center. The lady wanted my drivers license and wanted to know what exactly was in the packages and she as well tried to open it. I started arguing that there is not right to know what's in it. I paid for the postage at home and it's a package going to amazon for a fucking return why would there be anything else in package besides something that needs to go to amazon for my money back. It was fucking ridiculous ups and office Depot never ever ever ask for any of that information to drop off packages. Just do not go if you care about your privacy. This store lost my business never going back. read more
