we took our truck in to fix a problem with our heater/ ac. ....caused by a malfunctioning motor under the dash. We were told that we had to have a $100 inspection in order to diagnose the problem. we also wanted an oil change on the 2010 f150. Bottom line , we were emailed a report about the lights, wipers, tires etc....for $100. They said to fix the problem we took it in for would be $1500.00.....that's in addition to the $260 they charged for the oil change and "diagnostic inspection". They couldn't even get the model of our vehicle correct...we have a 2010 f150, they billed us for a 2010 King Ranch. We will not return.. read more

I showed up for a battery issue with my car. The gentleman that looked at it told me he could fix it in one day. The last 2 people I spoke with told me it would be a few days. Star fixed it in less than 24 hours and I'm pretty sure that they put gas in the tank. I was on E and my car takes premium. So, I would definitely use them again!! My son attends college in Taccoa Falls and one evening he was returning to the campus, when the Ford F150 he was operating had a malfunction, where the gas peddle went straight to the floor. The vehicle his dangerous speed, but he was bale to bring the vehicle to a safe stop on the side of the road. The gas peddle would not disengage, so arrangements were made to have the vehicle towed to a vehicle repair establishment. A check of local repair business uncovered Star Auto and Electric, which had good reviews. When the tow truck driver arrived, he agreed that they were good people to have work on your vehicle. I have heard a lot of good things about this place over a few years so when my vehicle started having electrical issues, this was the first place that came to mind to repair it. I've had so many issues in my 3 dealings with them that I don't even know where to begin and I couldn't possibly cover them all in this review. Let's start with the customer service. At first, the employees were extremely polite and kind. However, as soon as I had a problem with the service of my vehicle, that changed. The lady I spoke with on the phone about my issue was rude at points and even laughed at me. I'm unsure if she was a manager or the owner. Either way, it was extremely unprofessional. Now let me speak about the actual service of my vehicle. My issue was that every few weeks a headlight would blow out. I thought that it might be a short somewhere or something to do with the battery. When they called and said it was the headlight switch that needed to be replaced, I was a little confused. They're the ones that are supposed to know so I went with it! I paid them the $420 to replace it and took my car home. They didn't even replace the busted headlight, I had to take it right back and get it replaced as well. While it was there the second time I asked them to check the turn signal because it was still having issues. I took it back because I needed my vehicle and paid $110 for the headlight and inspection of the turn signal. A month later I had to take it back because my original problem wasn't fixed. I went through 2 headlights in a month! This time they said it was the alternator and it had to be either repaired or changed (they didn't know which) so max would $470. I asked if they would help me take care of that since their supposed first fix didn't actually fix anything at all. They refused and stood by the new price for the alternator. I told them I'd pay for the inspection and take my vehicle elsewhere. In summation, I've spent $600 over three separate occasions and my original problem still wasn't fixed. To me, that's a lot of money for them to not stand by their work. I also have a few gripes and nitpicks. When I spoke to the manager or owner about the payment for the alternator she mentioned that they would credit me $45 because they overcharged me the previous time. As appreciative as I am, that's a lot of money to be overcharged. If I had not come back they never would've credited me. They also tracked mud onto my carpeted floorboard. In conclusion, if you want to save yourself a headache and save your wallet, I'd suggest you take your vehicle elsewhere. read more
