DO. NOT. LET. THE. BARBER. NAMED. ROBERTO. NIEVES. COME. NEAR. YOUR. HEAD. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I look fucking ridiculous. My head is a patchy mess of different lengths. It looks like I let a 3-year old cut it. I WAS a repeat customer of this shop; I always saw Abel who no longer works there, and he was great! One time I saw a woman named Romie. She was good too. This Roberto guy is a payaso. My hair is a disaster. I will be rockin hats for the next 4 weeks, then going to a different shop to get my hair fixed. Never returning to the Star.

Vs what I got. And she looked at the photo twice! Not to mention the first photo I got cut at the same barbershop.

So I've come here for years. The veteran barbers are great with cutting hair. But lately the new barbers have been awful. The last three times (I KNOW) have been awful with this last time being the worst! And I still tip these awful barbers and I shouldn't! This past Saturday, I thought it couldn't get any worse but ended up getting the worst haircut of my life. Photo comparison attached. Haircut from the same barbershop on different occasions. It's a what I wanted vs what I got. Also, the new barber ladies I've been getting just have no sense in anything. There is a reason why there is a line of people waiting for certain barbers. Honestly, though you may have to wait even longer than when you initially get there, it may be worth it. This last lady didn't even show me the mirror to the back of my head when it was all done. Should've known. I don't know why I kept tipping them when they are horrible! Holy shit. I'm distraught at how bad it's been. I will definitely never come back here ever again.

Roberto is the best! He is efficient and effective. I have not found a better barber in The Greater LA Region who can do a fade so quickly and correctly. Ask for Roberto! I love him.

Barber cut me during the haircut

THE GOOD The first three barbers (the lady with short and colorful hair, the asian guy, and dark-skinned Latina) are arguably the best barbers here. I also like the Latina woman with curly hair and glasses (her chair is closest to the waiting seats), Rosario (the furthest chair), and Robert (next to the Latina woman with curly hair and glasses). They have different styles, but can provide a good fade and they know what they're doing. These are the barbers I recommend going to if you choose to come here The older Latino gentleman in the corner (chair #5) is decent (I cannot speak for the gentleman that wears a hat since I never got a haircut from him) THE BAD Chair #4 is an older Latina woman with glasses. I've received a haircut from her twice. Both times she pressed too hard with the razor and cut me. The most recent one is last night (picture attached). I DO NOT recommend going to her THE UGLY I have been coming since I was a kid and kept coming because I liked certain barbers. However, due to the nature of this shop (walk-in and first come, first serve), it is difficult to try and see the same barber consistently unless you get lucky or you wait until they're free and it is your turn Unless you are able to see the same barber, do not expect consistency. You can say the same thing to each barber, but each one will cut your hair differently CONCLUSION Because I am currently looking for consistency and quality with my haircuts (and after getting cut twice), I am choosing to no longer come here for a haircut

    Worst expensive beard trim ever!!!

terrible job!!! I went in and asked for a lineup for my beard. and it cost $23, Which is very expensive for what it is. it looks like my friend did it at home in his garage for five bucks. For a $23 beard trim my lines should be immaculate, sharp and stand out. Where is the t liners followed with the razor? cost too expensive to look this cheap. I should be looking like a movie star, not like WTF!!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone

This is Roberto's idea of a fade. Stevie Wonder could have done a better job

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this dump and especially Roberto the butcher unless you want your hair to look like this photo.

Been coming here for a while but today's cut was the worst experience I've had. When I asked my barber to take a bit off the top, she instead made the front of my hair extremely uneven and argued with me telling me to just comb my hair over. I tried showing her the corner of my hair where there's very clearly a huge chunk of hair missing so it looks like I have a fucking crater on my head, but she would just talk over me telling me that it's even lol. Someone tell me how this is an "even" cut. Now I know hair will grow back and I can always just wear a hat or something, but the fact that she kept denying that my hair wasn't messed up pissed me off. An apology at the least wouldn't have made me so angry. I haven't been this unhappy with a haircut and the experience in a long time.

First time trying out this barber shop in Korea Town. no wait and friendly service. $15 for a sharp cut. Nice!
    Laura E.

It was my first time at this barbershop in Koreatown. There was no wait. A Spanish speaking barber did my haircut (fade, taper, side line and trimmed the top). She was nice and friendly. She paid attention to detail. I'll definitely be coming back. Price $15. Cons: Not a nice part of town & dirty surroundings. Shop could use a spruce up. No parking, but I parked at the McDonald's parking lot next door.

    No product

The service is wonderful, very friendly employees and lovely conversation- two stars because my haircut is nothing close to what I wanted~ I brought reference photos. Didn't have the heart to complain though and still tipped well because I liked her so much as a person~she was very sweet and funny. My haircut may just be a fluke (the other photos posted look nice and reviews seem overall positive) but I am just sad because 1) my haircut is too short to fix and I just have to wait until it grows out and 2) my work doesn't allow hats I've included one of the reference photos I showed and two pictures of my cut- one of how I left the salon after it was styled and the other after it's been washed with no product in it. They did me dirty fam

I have a fairly simple understanding of hairstyles and proper hair maintenance. The barber Javin asked me questions about my usual hairstyle and went through suggestions regarding trimming technique. Ultimately, I went with low fade with and a touch up on the top. He mentioned my two hair whorls and overall head shape provided some considerations on what he thought would look natural, which I appreciated. In the end, the fade was perfect. Afterwards I went in for quick shampoo and conditioner which targeted my dandruff. While the location is somewhat out of the way for me, I can definitely rely on their dedication and handiwork.

Then I showed him a picture of me with the haircut I wanted (which was a burst fade Mohawk) and he proceeded to say "is that really you". This was at the beginning of the hair cut. Mid way he asked a second time if I had ever had this hair cut before which I answered yes. Also at the beginning he had mentioned how much are we taking off the top. I mentioned just a little bit and we can work our way down. When it came to cutting the top I feel he had gone too low. At that point I just wanted to get out of the chair. I waited 2 days to post this just to see if my hair needed to settle in since I went from a wild lions mane to what ever this short hair cut I have now. But no matter how much I attempt to style my hair it just looks dumb. My feedback to Hin is if you aren't confident in cutting someone's hair then please just say so. Or if your specialty is clean cuts then tell your client so they can make the decision of sitting in the chair. I may come back to try with someone else to cut my hair since I feel the people here have some skill.
