I used to live just down the street from Star Cleaners, so they were very convenient to use. I don't have my clothes cleaned a lot, but when I do I expect them to come back they way they went in. I had three dress shirts ruined by one of their machines, all on different occasions. There were tears where the sleeve meets the cuff. If it was just one shirt, I could easily chalk it up to a manufacturer defect. But three? That's no coincidence. I also had weird greasy stains show up on my some of my shirts AFTER they were cleaned. These are shirts I would wear for business meetings and sales calls, solely. When I brought the stains to their attention, I was told I probably ate greasy food and dropped it on my shirt and they weren't responsible. No kidding. That's what they said. We've since moved to New Lenox and I luckily don't have to worry about taking my clothes here, anymore. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for a year and we are extremely happy with the price, quality and speed I get my items back. Drop off before 9, will be ready by 5 - no extra charge. It appears all laundry is cleaned onsite. The location not only offers discounts on Wednesday, they just rolled out a new mobile app that gives you a digital punchcard for a free cleaning and they have other promotions as well. I'm down with a company who embraces technology AND saves me money! The front desk is always friendly, quick and efficient so dropping off laundry on the way to work is a breeze. read more

I asked for a refund, but the young lady at the register isn't authorized to give refunds and recommended that I speak with the manger....REALLY? You mean the one that never returns calls. I've used this place before, and they don't do a great job..they don't do a bad job, they're just in the middle far as the cleaning goes.... What really got me, was the attitude. I brought in a party dress, and the Tom boy with her stupid turned around baseball cap, charged me $7.00 for it! ! I said, EXCUSE ME, but why so much??! She said, LONG DRESSES ARE MORE.I said, you better hold that dress up again... it's a regular-length dress!! So, she then lowered it to $5.00. .but it was like, I did something wrong. I'm very upset right now. I just picked up my dry cleaning order and I don't like the way my clothes smell one bit. When I removed from plastic I was hoping it was a chemical smell because I've had issues with a bad musty and mildew smell on my order. I called the manager Na yesterday to explain that I've previously had two slacks that I've brought in to be redone and paid for multiple times and to get back and have that smell again. I don't know if it's the chemicals they are using, adding more water or what. The staff is nice enough and my family has been regulars since they opened. We wanted to support a new business and this cleaners is convenient. We spend quite a bit on dry cleaning. Looks like it's time for us to move on and find another cleaners. I can't have my clothes smelling like this and overpowering my pretty perfume with this horrible smell. So disappointing. read more

We use this cleaner often and have always been pleased. Recently, a family member passed away. She had given my husband a tie that brought back from a trip many years ago. The tie was well loved and had fallen apart. My husband wanted to wear it to the funeral. For very little cost, Star repaired, cleaned and pressed the tie in a single day. It looked better than new. read more

Horrible place for cleaning your clothes. My pants were ruined and the owner was very rude to me. They may be few pennies cheaper but if your clothes smell bad and get ruined it is not worth it. I will not recommend them. read more

I have been going to Star Cleaners for 9 years, but it was today's incident that spurred me to take the time to write this. I brought in a load of work clothes to clean and press. I reached into my pocket, but did not have my money clip with cash and credit cards. I apologized for leaving my funds at home, and they took my load on IOU. I went to a work meeting and two hours later, I received a call from the staff at Star Cleaners who found my money band in the wash. I returned to the business, and they returned my clip with over $200, every ID, and every credit card. THAT IS BUSINESS INTEGRITY! I had assumed that I left it at home. Not one dollar was missing. The owner is always pleasant, and the staff is super nice and helpful. Thank you for truly being a service business. read more

My family recommended this place to me. 2nd time I've had a problem with them. This time they damaged my shirt. Spoke to the manager and received absolutely nothing. Not even a refund of the $2 it cost to begin with. 1 $2 cleaning...1 damaged shirt...no goodwill gesture equals no return business. None of my family will return either. read more

Prepaid for several suits to be dry cleaned, including a pair of pants dry which required one hem to be repaired. Picked up the items, got home & noticed the repair tag was still pinned to hem of the pants and had not been repaired. I returned the following day bc I still needed the hem repaired (to wear to event), as well as drop off addition items. Usually there is a pleasant gentleman at the counter, but on that day it was a woman with a nasty disposition. She started by accusing me of wearing the pants (with the blue repair tag clearly visible) & trying to get them to fix again for free. What? Then she claimed I never paid for the repair. However, the receipt showed that I did, so she just kept repeatIng "not my fault." I never said it was her "fault," I merely wanted the hem stitched. She told me "too bad...bye." It was quite unbelievable. I took the pants and the additional items elsewhere. I WILL NEVER GO BACK to Star Cleaners. Apparently it was my fault for paying money and expecting the simple alteration to be completed. **Star Cleaners is close to my workplace, so I gave them another chance after they "misplaced" several of my items awhile back. On that occasion, they said they'd call me when they were able to located my items. I followed up in the days following. I heard nothing & subsequently went to store only to be told my items had "probably" been "donated to charity." read more
