I went to this place on recommendation from a co-worker two years ago, and I think it's pretty good. Amber is a great instructor, even if the material is essentially unchanged in the interim two years I have to get my CPR certification renewed. Now, the problem is the office building parking lot basically has no parking available. You have to stalk and wait for a spot to open up. The neighboring businesses are really strict with its parking enforcement (they seem to take some perverse glee in getting people towed), and that wasn't a problem two years ago. *Weary Sigh* read more

As a healthcare professional, I am required to keep my certifications up-to-date. It's a pain when the two year mark comes and it is time to renew but as anyone in the field knows... it's something we just need to get done. I first discovered Star CPR when I decided to get my ACLS cert 2 years ago, when I was still fairly new to the profession of being a Registered Nurse. The class was structured classroom style with PowerPoint presentation, video, skills demonstrations and all... perfect for prepping my nervous self for the test portion. Plus I got to renew my BLS at the same time by just paying the a reduced fee (than if I were to take the class separately) and taking the exam portion... no wasting more hours in a class to do so! So when it came time to renew both my certifications I knew I would be going through Star CPR again. Not only is it easy to scheduled and pay online but they have various locations classes are held at throughout San Diego. Plus, prices are comparable to if not less than others in the area. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. First time students need not be intimidated regarding the certification process. The staff really does help in ensuring students understand the algorithms and how to react in a real-life emergency situation. I highly recommend this company for any professional needed AHA certification. -BLS, ACLS, PALS, and layman CPR are all offered. Great place! I enrolled in their BLS renewal class online. They had multiple times/days so you can get the one that works with your schedule. Since I enrolled online, the whole process was fast. I paid $50 for the class that lasted almost 4hrs and got my BLS card right after the class! Kudos for Amber the instructor for making this long class fun! Registering is easy, the class is thorough without being overkill, and Amber is very knowledgeable and friendly.
