Star Garden is the best Chinese and Thai food in the Sunbury area. However, one of my favorite dishes is Cashew Chicken. I ordered it with snow peas, no carrots and add bean sprouts of which they were out. It was good but, there must have been an entire stalk of celery in it. Basically, I was given chicken, Snow peas and an overabundance of celery. (See photos). Now, keep in mind that two of us ate from this but, just by what was left you can imagine what it originally looked like. Very scant in sauce also. Tasted good though. This is a family owned place with a lot of local customers. We passed by here and the food was great. The owner was super nice.

Went into eat, sat down were given menus and then we were forgotten about. The staff took orders and waited on take out customers and left us sitting for over 15 minutes with no drinks. We left without ordering or eating. read more

If you are looking for good Asian cuisine, this is the place. I am from the Philly area and am traveling to Danville often. It was only a 15 minute drive but worth it. This place is a little hard to find, especially with road construction going on. I would say it's worth the search. I had the lunch special combo, pad Thai shrimp. It was loaded with shrimp. I was extremely satisfied with the amount. The only downside was there was no veggies in the pad Thai. Most I've seen come with bean sprouts or broccoli. I had the egg drop soup which was very good and a large amount. I'm a big eater and I left satisfied. The hostess/owner was very polite and on her game. What ever you needed you got. Tried Star Garden for the first time this evening with a large carry out order- placed the order online for a later pickup. Our plans changed and we called to see if they could accommodate an earlier pickup time and they quickly agreed. We ordered: #8 Cream Cheese Wonton, #9 Steamed Dumplings, #12a Chicken Stick with Fried Rice, #15 Wonton Soup, #42 Chicken Chow Mein Fun, #37 Chicken Lo Mein, #82 Shrimp with Broccoli, #108d Orange Chicken, #116 Mongolian Beef*, #F1 Chicken Pad Thai, #F19 Thai Red Curry-Beef*, and #24 Fried Rice. Everything got rave reviews by parents and kids and the servings were generous. The Beef dishes were tagged as spicy in the menu. We noted that we would prefer the more mild side, and they both had just enough spice to be interesting but not to need a glass of milk. The Cream Cheese Wonton was the best I've had in years. The best Chinese in the area and good Thai options, although a more limited Thai menu. Great service, very adaptable, and the food was hot and ready when they said it would be. My husband and I were looking for some tasty Chinese food for lunch and I came across this spot on Yelp with great reviews. We decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. The owner/hostess was an enthusiastic server. I could give her great reviews alone for her greeting and customer service. The food was hot, prompt and delicious. The surroundings are very simple and unassuming, but the meal made up for any lack of fancy decor. Not only did it taste good, but presented in an appealing manner. As a previous reviewer stated, it is great Americanized Asian food, fresh, hot and seasoned well. It is much better than any other of it's kind, at least on The Strip. We will certainly go back when in the area and I recommend to give it a try. read more

Great Chinese and Thai food!! The owners are accommodating and have a passion for what they do. Stop in today if your looking for a quality meal at a reasonable price. The menu is extensive. My husband and I were impressed by the presentation of the food and the high quality ingredients that the owners use. Everything was prepared to perfection. I ordered a healthy meal of steamed chicken and broccoli and my husband enjoyed the roast porked and cold sesame noodles. The portions were so generous, we had enough for lunch the very next day. The restaurant is extremely clean. The counter, dining area and even the bathrooms, are well cared for. Although this restaurant is tucked away, you shouldn't overlook the location. There is a smaller parking area, however, we did not find it to be an issue. There were many happy customers buzzing in and out picking up take out orders. The food is good, however, the customer service is terrible! The lady who answers the phone is extremely rude. She is very hard to understand, so my fiance had to ask her to repeat what she said, she then stated that she did not have time for our order and hung up the phone. I decided to call back and see if I could get anywhere, when i called, i was told,"We have no time to take order, bye!". Unfortunately, they are the only Chinese restaurant open nearby during COVID. O.K. These days there are few hidden gems in the chaff - quiet little nooks where customer service and fresh, reasonably priced good food is more important than a flashy neon sign and retro industrial motifs. Star garden in such a place and by far the best meal for its price in the region. Tucked unobtrusively on a busy road, it is not much to look at from the outside, but from the moment you enter the doors, you know you ae in the right place as a steady stream of locals come in to pick up their to-go orders. We love our Chinese and Thai food and do not rain praise lightly, but a mere $30 and 10 or so minutes produced a Asian feast with hot tea that stuffed us to our very core with leftovers for tomorrow and even a little hand cooked gift for our dog who waitied patiently outside. Fresh. Fresh is the word to describe our meal with none of that reheated funk which we find in so many small mom and pop asian places. Run. Don't walk. After passing this place dozens of times on the way to New York from Virginia, finally decided to stop in. Very friendly service and kid friendly place. The vegetable lo mein had my 3 year old eating vegetables and loving them! After noticing that I was ordering all vegetable options the server also made our fried rice without pork, which I didn't think to ask but was very much appreciated! Everything we ordered tasted great and the kids enjoyed watching kid shows on the tv while we ate!
