Revisit for a ...Uhum. B day visit, let's just say not 70, yet OK? 4:30 reservations OK not quite 70 but early bird ? Yes. And a $25.00 promotion on going at least takes the pain out of such an upscale meal. Seated immediately, at the Happy Birthday booth. We are not booth fans, but this one was actually comfortable. ( table 51 is recommended in this case) Drinks and water's were quick and impressive, the hickory old fashioned was really good, and strong enough but not overpowering. Spouse liked her Chardonnay ( Proverb ) We went fancy with a goat cheese bruschetta appetizer, very nice, and fresh. Spouse had the Mixed Grill that was shell fish and crab and all the lovely stuff she couldn't share with the Birthday boy. No problem I had the seared ahi tuna dinner with lemon asparagus risotto and baby heritage carrots, not the regular Hawaiian tuna. that is good but I didn't want the mashed potatoes and asparagus this time. Loved the carrots nice and glassed with a happy amount of charing and the risotto was fresh a nice lemon background and asparagus was " 5o the tooth" the only small negative was the tuna had no crust, even though I asked for rare, it was missing . Either not a hot enough pan or planchette not those extra few moments, I don't know. But still excellent. We were cared for by Stephen ( I think ) and team 1, I was offered a desert menu but I had a chocolate cake awaiting me at home, I still received a small sponge cake with whip cream and a delicious strawberry on top, with a candle. Damages were $ 135+ tax ( minus the bday discount) plus tip for the full amount. Well worth the expense , and we will do it again next year, I hope. read more

I've been to this place numerous times now, and the biggest thing I'll say upfront is: you never really know what you're walking into on a given night. Consistency is a real concern here. That said, let me break it down. Ambiance: 4/5 Context matters here. In the wintertime, you walk in and it's dark, cozy, and has legitimately good steakhouse vibes. In the summertime though, those vibes basically disappear. So call it a 4.5 in the winter and closer to a 2 in the summer -- we'll average it out to a 4. Still probably one of the better ambiances in the Hershey area, which isn't saying a ton, but credit where it's due. Service: 5/5 No complaints here. Multiple waiters coming around, water always filled, attentive throughout. Great job. Food: 3/5 This is where it gets complicated. The steaks -- they know how to get the cut right and cook it to your requested temperature, I'll give them that. But if you've been to top tier steakhouses, you know this isn't one: the plate is not piping hot, the steak not bursting with flavor, kind of dry, not juicy, not the best crust. The sides deserve some credit though -- the potatoes au gratin and asparagus are pretty solid. However, I ordered the red snapper, which came with mushrooms and a puree, and the sides were so small you could barely see them under the fish. The fish itself was cooked well, though I personally like my fish with some kind of juicy base. That may just be the style here. Overall: 3/5 Look, Devon is the best steakhouse Hershey has to offer -- but you have to keep that context in mind. If you're holding it to a high steakhouse standard, it's going to fall short. Consistency is the biggest issue. Some nights are better than others, and at these prices, that's not acceptable. Go in with the right expectations and you'll have a fine time. Go in expecting a top tier steakhouse experience and you'll leave disappointed. read more

I had a fantastic visit to Devon's! Clean, excellent restaurant right in Hershey! We had a reservation (highly recommended) it was early Saturday night and still very busy! I had the tuna steak, roasted heirloom carrots in honey sriracha butter and whipped Yukon gold potatoes. Our waitress was great- very knowledgeable about the menu, including the gluten free options. She said that for the current menu, all sides are gluten free except for the lobster Mac and cheese. No gluten free rolls or pasta options but many seafood and steak options. Mocktail options available as well! Plenty of free parking, which is always nice! read more

Delicious food! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We went earlier on a Sunday, about 5pm, and there wasn't many people. However by the time we left, it was full! Great ambience. We did book in advance so I would recommend that considering how popular it is! I had the Cider Glazed Scallops which were delicious- though the polenta tasted very very strong. Almost too strong. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was ok. I didn't find it to be anything special. The fresh oysters were delicious too! I shared the Calamari with my mum to start- it was delicious!! And definitely enough to share. The Monkfish and Mixed grill were apparently very nice too. Would definitely come back again- but only for a special occasions! read more

This restaurant came highly recommended by several staff members at HHotel and Uber drivers, so we decided to give it a try. Our server was super knowledgeable and friendly. He even laughed when I compared their cheesy biscuit to Red Lobster's, but it was definitely delicious, especially with their butter sauce. I ordered their version of a Dark and Stormy cocktail, which was really good. For appetizers, I had the tuna tataki and crab cakes, which I ended up enjoying as my main meal. I also ordered a sharable lobster mac and cheese as my side, which was amazing. All the dishes were delicious, and the ambiance was great for anyone craving seafood. The prices were in line with other seafood and steakhouse restaurants. I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you have a large group, especially during peak season. In search of a high-quality dining experience in Central Pennsylvania, we found ourselves at Devon in Hershey. Our time was largely excellent. There was one negative that we'll get out of the way first. Smelling marijuana while dining, or frankly anytime, but especially when dining, is a big issue. While we don't know where the smell was coming from, it did seem to be coming off of a staff member - not our waiter. Speaking of our waiter, Chris did an outstanding job. He was genuinely friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, cocktails and wine. And the water... clean tasting and clearly filtered. For starters, we tried the caesar salad, shrimp cocktail and calamari. Each was very good but the shrimp cocktail was a clear winner. For entrees we tried surf and turf with crab cake and also with shrimp and scallops, grilled barramundi, bouillabaisse and mixed seafood grill. All were excellent. The 8-oz fillets were prepared perfectly to our liking. All of our other dishes were excellent as well. If there was one dish we might not get again, it was the barramundi. Coffee and desserts were also highlights of an overall great evening. We tried peanut butter chocolate tort, brûléed cheesecake, affogato and Hershey's chocolate velvet cake. Wow! We decided to order appetizers only. It was so fun! We had the artichoke and spinach dip. It was fresh and we enjoyed the pita bread that came with it. We had the tempura shrimp rolls- sushi with a delicious dipping sauce. The lobster bisque was rich and creamy with chunks of lobster throughout. Delish!! We ordered a side of lobster Mac and cheese which just hit!! Big chunks of lobster with creamy cheese sauce. Our last order was the seafood trio- 2 crab cakes, shrimp scampi and calamari. Excellent steak and seafood right by HersheyPark with friendly service, great execution, and comfortable seating. Be sure to get the bone-in ribeye with a side of the asparagus risotto and lobster mac and cheese. You can also sub in the ribeye for the fillet to make a surf and turf - definitely get the lump crab cake which is literally all lump crabmeat with no filler. The seafood cioppino is also excellent with fresh seafood and a flavorful, robust, yet light tomato sauce. The carrot cake is great finish. Our server was very helpful and sweet. Will be back next time we are in Hershey, for sure. read more

Devon in Hershey, PA Happy Hour? More like Horrific Hour. We grabbed seats at the bar in this oversized chain restaurant (apparently there are about five of them floating around the universe). I'm not usually a "chain person," but my friend had a gift card, so I took one for the team. Big mistake. He ordered the shrimp appetizer, I went with steamed clams. Drinks? Fine. Food? Well, let's just say my stomach qualified for the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team. Flips, somersaults, I could practically hear the judges holding up "10s." But my situation was nothing compared to my friend. His shrimp was so raw, I swear it winked at me before I ate a bite. I'm not sure how he managed to eat two pieces of what was basically sushi's sketchy cousin, but by evening he was deep in prayer to the Porcelain God. Seriously, how does a chef serve shrimp that still looks like it's alive in the ocean? And how did my friend think, "Huh, maybe the second one will be better"? Some mysteries we'll never solve. Moral of the story: these shrimp were still bottom-feeding when they hit the plate, and we were the unlucky ones who fed off them. Be careful what you order at Devon. The Seafood Mixed Grill was beautifully presented w/ the smoky, moist, salmon- the standout of the platter. I think fresh fish is where Devon excels & it will be my focus on future visits. The shrimp, scallops, & crab cake all good while the sides were average. The cauliflower, mashed potatoes, very basic & I didn't care for the dipping sauces. One can overlook these shortcomings when you send out enough crisp, delicious, little biscuits w/ butter florets sitting in maple syrup. Literally to die for! Incredible service. The bartender was friendly and personable. Our server was knowledgeable and quick. She took care of our every need. The food was incredible. The mushrooms were my favorite. The drinks were good. You feel the alcohol and not taste it. We got the mixed grill and the scallops and polenta. The scallops came with delicious pork belly. Yum! It's pricey but the ingredients are fresh and expensive. And the service matches the expectations of a menu with these prices. We and another couple went here last Saturday night. Previously, we have never had a bad meal and the service has always been excellent. Saturday night was a huge disappointment. Everything was overcooked. The rolls were too well done and a little blackened and everything seemed like it had been sitting under lights or otherwise getting too overcooked. In addition, the service was very slow. This place is too expensive for such a meal. We're willing to try one more time, but if we have another bad experience, we won't be going back. read more

I'm sticking with a solid 3. We've been coming here for several years and while it started out great, like many places it's been yo-yoing between great and just good since lock down. Some nights we went it was perfect, but on our last 2 recent visits, it was just ok. Stopped in on our anniversary and had a newer waiter who asked us if we had dined before, we said many times, and he proceeded to explain the menu over and over again, as if we were new. Took our orders and around us we could hear other waiters mentioning the birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions with other guests. (they put a card on your table that mentions if you're here for a special occasion) We had a Happy Anniversary on ours but not once was it mentioned by our waiter. You used to also get a small complimentary dessert based on the occasion and that seems to be gone now unless you order one off the menu, they put a small candle in it. Flash forward a few months and we're back in for my birthday. We had coupon for a free entrée UP TO $25....None of the entrees were $25, all were $26.99 or above. Our waitress said they meant you had to order an entrée of AT LEAST $25 so its essentially $25 off your dinner entrée bill. Knocked off another star for false advertising. Ordered the mixed seafood grill and was disappointed again with overcooked dry salmon and blackened scallops. Husband's Steak was cooked fine so maybe it was an off night for seafood. We'll be taking another break, maybe stopping back in a few months to see if things changed but with Iron Hill and other restaurants in the area, we're going to explore other options. read more

Last minute decision coming here and don't regret it at all. Ambiance was breathtakingly beautiful and warm and although reservations are highly recommended and place was packed upon arrival we got seated within ten minutes. Our server was cheerful and upbeat, gave us great recommendations regarding to items on the menu and off. The food was all too good and only complaint was that I didn't even have enough room to eat it all. I came in simply for a night cap and a small appetizer, my brother insisted on ordering most the menu and of course with the aroma and looks of each dish that arrived I could not help but to try a bite of each plate. We were here for a pre-theater dinner and the location was perfect because it's right across the street from Hershey Theater. Our group went from 5 to 7 a week before our reservation date so I had to call and asked for accommodation. Even though on the phone I was told we would be put into a booth that might get crowded, we got a table when we were seated. Our show was at 8 pm on a Friday. We arrived at 6:15 pm which was the reservation time. I think we waited for about 20 - 30 minutes before we got seated. We placed our drink order first then the waiter took our food order. My regular old-fashioned ($15) was proper and strong. The complimentary biscuits were delicious. We waited for about 40 minutes before our food arrived so we asked for our checks. Everybody enjoyed their food. I got the scallops from Devon's Classics on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. The scallops were browned on the outside and still tender and moist inside. The other components of the dish were carefully treated as well. The portion was just right for me. Because of the food and the service, I think the wait was acceptable but I can see if we had been in a rush we would have been very annoyed. Leaving enough time is always a good idea when you need to go somewhere. We parked in the garage (free!) and didn't move our cars when we headed to the theater. read more

I wanted better lighting and comfy seat if I'm dressing up) .something about a booth is romantic. We got the booth! & they put a pretty card on table so waitress would say, happy anniversary. Cocktails: peach martini was amazing! Hubby got some bourbon. Dinner: lobster bisque was salty, so I gave it to hubby. It has a few pieces of lobster. Wonderful dinner at Devon to celebrate a birthday on a busy Saturday night! We made reservations in advance and noted that we were celebrating a birthday. Our reservation was ready on time and without it we might not have gotten a table for hours since it was very busy. The table also had a happy birthday sign on it which was a nice touch! We had great service throughout the night. The waitress made helpful suggestions and even gave us an extra appetizer since they mistakenly made us the same appetizer twice. They also handled my shellfish allergy very well which was appreciated. They had delicious hot rolls as an included appetizer. And my dinner tasted delicious even though it took a while to come out. The broth (to me light tomato sauce) was the best ever sauce I have tasted in either the states or Europe including Italy.
