I had a broken, detached door knob on my front door.The door is old and two handymen from other companies told me it was unrepairable. The second one actually put epoxy in the knob hole ,which lasted about a week before the knob fell off again. Bulent, from Star Locksmith, on the other hand, is an experienced locksmith who looked at the problem and agreed to try to fix it. He said there was no charge if he couldn't.He fixed it quickly, explaining the spindle was the wrong size and the door needed a new knob. He left three new keys after he adjusted the lock as well. After reading these reviews, I called for an estimate for a job- he said he happen to be in Cambridge now and could be there in 10 minutes. He was. Trusted them to do the service when I'm not at the property. Claim to fix it, but when I visit, the door lock still doesn't work properly. Had to get another locksmith to fix the same problem and they were a better deal and better job. The other locksmith I ended up needing to hire told me Star Locksmith installed a mechanism backwards that doesn't work ideally with the door lock system we had. New person changed the whole lock to a new mechanism and resolved our problem completely for less than 400 while Star locksmith charged me more for just a repair and didn't actually repair it to work probably, they argued that they did the job because the lock is fixed, but I left me with the same problem that I had before I paid them for the job. read more
