B: One girl working the desk spent 10 minutes talking to a regular about how their days were going. She saw me but rather than saying she needed to help a customer she just kept talking with her friend about the weather. Came here to obtain my fingerprint clearance card, as this was the closest location to my house. Staff was very nice and all social distancing and COVID precautions are followed here. I received my card within the week! Would recommend them for fingerprinting services. They're also a full service shipping and marketing company! read more

This place is simply the WORST. Our family has been going there for years. The last two owners were great but a couple years ago they sold again and it's been terrible ever since. They nickel and dime you on everything. I went in to mail a package. They suggested that I tape it more to make sure it's safe (mind you this is a padded envelope) and offer to tape it for me. I said yes, thank you. After taping it (no more than 6 inches of tape was used) they tell me there will be a "tape fee" of 75¢. I had no choice but to pay it since it's already on my package but c'mon.. 75¢ for six inches of tape? Get out of here. They way overcharge shipping. Costs generally almost double what it costs at other places. I could give a million examples of the business sense this place lacks but unfortunately I have to go. Need to go mail some packages.... I never write reviews, but my experience at Star Mail was so poor, I felt compelled to warn others. DO NOT TAKE PASSPORT PHOTOS HERE!! They will be rejected at Chandler Passport Acceptance Facility, because the dimensions are not correct, according to the facility at Chandler City Hall. Panicked, we had to rush to a CVS and retake the photos. Unfortunately, we mailed two of the 5 applications in the mail because they were a renew. Now we don't know if they will be accepted or if we will be able to get our passports in time for our family vacation that we have already paid for. The customer service here was unsympathetic and unapologetic towards their mistake and the added stress and money their mistake has caused. They wouldn't issue a refund on all the photos that were not accepted. This company just cares about money and NOT about the products they provide, nor customer service. I want to give the owner some feedback here because I really have been happy with this place in the past. The staff struggles. Yesterday I went in with a few simple items to mail. The guy behind the counter had his hoodie on and could barely give me the time of day. I asked if he could compare prices for me and he let out a huge sigh before answering my question. I ended up leaving and driving to the higley post office where they helped me weigh out my options in a friendly way and with a smile. They are so close to getting it right here - but the customer service is lacking - just getting someone with a smile and a helpful spirit would be a game changer. read more

This place is awful. The owner/employees are so nice --- too nice. And they are shockingly S L O W. They talk too much, move too slowly, and can't seem to be efficient. Just today: a young man waiting in line finally got to the counter. He just wanted to mail an envelope. But the worker then interrupted serving him to go take someone's fingerprints. The poor kid stood there for probably 10 minutes before getting to complete his business. The worker then polls everyone in the place to find out what they needed so she could do "triage". Quit wasting time and move it! Unfortunately, in this part of town there aren't many options. I hope that when the new Fry's shopping center opens that there will be a place that can deal with mail and be quick, efficient and uncluttered. I am never going back to Star Mail - ever! read more

I came in to get a new fingerprint clearance card because I needed a different type for my master's program. The woman who was helping me was so kind and patient. I explained to her that on my previous fingerprint clearance card I had to go back twice to redo my fingerprints because they are very light and I have always struggled with fingerprint sensors, etc. We ran each hand and finger multiple times and got it done. I went in on Christmas Eve and I just got my new card in the mail today! (New Years Eve) so everything was completed within a week! Great and fast service. Thank you!! read more

I went into star mail needing documents for my I-9 verified. However, I didn't have my birth certificate/social security card in the state (both of which are needed for I-9) and if I didn't get this done, I would've lost the job I just started, given that I couldn't get my birth certificate or social security card in time. They were outstanding with the situation and helped me find another form of documentation to finish the process. I would highly recommend Star Mail for any mail/notary/fingerprint/I-9 services. AVOID THIS PLACE. I was charged $39.64 to ship an envelope by the CHEAPEST FedEx option within the US. I checked online and the standard flat rate for FedEx is $8.50!!! 4x! This is shameless gouging. We were shipping this for another person and had just left MD Anderson Cancer Center so i wasn't thinking too clearly and just paid it.
