Got a full set from Lily! She is amazing and did a beautiful job with my nails! I would definitely recommend her! The other full sets my daughter and I got done were by Jenny and Tiffany. The salon itself is nice and clean and everyone who works here is nice. I enjoy coming here.

Tried out this place about two months ago because I was in need of a pedi. Decided to get a pedi and acrylic done. Love my nails done by Tiffany. Came back three weeks later for a fill. Back again after three weeks for another fill. Love the quality of work she did on my nails. It's the longest my nails lasted with acrylic even with all the handwashing I do. Make an appointment and request for TIFFANY. She does nails and pedicures.

Always a wonderful experience here for my husband and myself! We live in mammoth Lakes and when we come to Star Nails, the team always makes us comfortable and we know we are going to be taken care of, even if we just walk in! Special shout out to Kimi and Helen Beautiful nails, THE MOST GLORIOUS pedicures, the nicest service!

Cris was amazing!! I showed him an inspo pic for my nails and he said "why not!". He was so funny and did my nails so quick! He freehanded the designs and it turned out so good! I love it!

I got the deluxe pedicure here. Amanda was amazing and able to get me and my friend in right away. The salt scrub was fantastic and I felt the price was very fair compared to other salons. Inside they have an amazing wave wall decor. My polish looks great and the nail shape was perfect. My friend also got the deluxe pedicure by Michael and he did a Halloween themed toe with spider webs. It was the most perfect artwork we have seen! Great experience overall. Near Starbucks too.

Got a cute natural ombre set-- the staff is always so nice and the head of the salon (i think her name is Sophie?) always makes sure to greet us :) she says to come back with pictures whatever designs we want and her techs will do it. I've been to this nail salon a few times now for pedicures with my husband. Normally we have had good experiences. We went a few days ago and now my husband has an infection on his big toe right by the nail. Like pus infection, not just irritation. While we were there this last time, his chair didn't work which is annoying as it's part of the pedi experience. I always get gel polish pedicures and their competitive pricing is why we were coming here. Well now, a gel pedicure is $17 more! And to top it off they have certain nail polish colors that are $5 more on top of that. So I ended up paying $44 for their basic pedicure with the gel polish I chose, $22 for the pedicure and $22 for the polish. That is way too expensive for this type of salon. If you are going to up your gel polish price to $17 you shouldn't be charging an extra $5 for certain colors. We will not be returning to this shop. It's unfortunate because we generally have liked the service we have received in the past, but with an infection happening 2 days after a visit, that is absolutely unacceptable. read more

First time coming to this nail salon and it was not a good experience. We called in advance and had appointments but it took 30 mins to be seated. I paid extra for their deluxe pedicure which is supposed to be an hour long and was done faster than my two friends next to me that ordered the basic pedicure. A few hours later, my son touched my nails and they completely smudged... Don't know why the nail polish was still wet after 2 hours? Overall, it was definitely disappointing. read more

Took my friend to star nails after going to a nail spot in la mesa area which bait and switched us saying they could do the nails she wanted when she sent them a picture they started the pedicure then told us they couldnt do the nails. Got to star nail sophie took amazing care of her nails. Worked extra long to make sure they were what she was happy with them. Would recommend 100 percent. read more

My friend went here to pedi and told me about this place. She makes an appointment for 5pm last Wednesday February, 2nd, for 3. We got there on time, waited 10 minutes. They started on my friend and my daughter, but I waited for 45 minutes until someone got to me. I understand that they were busy, but there was no communication with me. While nails were getting done I could tell she was rushing the whole time. So less than a week later my pinky nail is lifting and my friends nail broke. We really wanted to like this place. DO NOT go to the older guy that works there...probably in his 40's. My cousin and I went to this place for pedicures. She was sitting next to me, her nail lady asked her what type of pedicure she wanted (extra exfoliation, callus removal, etc) and whether she wanted gel. I only got a "have a seat," and ZERO acknowledgement after that. He rushed through my whole pedicure...didnt even scrub my feet, I still have calluses...and didn't put in any toe separators while drying. Once he finished, he went and sat at a nail station and started clipping his own nails. The whole reason I wanted to get a pedicure was because of my calluses....and had to ASK slippers on my way out. He obviously got ZERO tip and will never be returning. read more

**first time visit** My friend and I had appointments today for mani/pedi's. My friend was helped right away while I sat with my feet in water for 20 minutes before I was helped. I didn't really mind because I was enjoying visiting with my friend, but my friend and I ordered the exact same services and my gal was finished with me before my friend was done. This included "the extra massage" and my friends massage started before me and finished after me. The massage was lame too. Don't call it a massage if all you are going to do is rub lotion on my legs. They were busy, I get it, but don't rush through the job. My nails and toes turned out just ok. I like to tip well, and I did so today - even though the service wasn't great- but I won't go back. I think they allowed too many walk-in's and just couldn't handle appointments too so I was rushed through. Such a bummer. read more

Yvonne has been doing my nails for over a year. I followed her here to Star Nails. She does a perfect pink and white dipping powder French. The white is perfect and she makes the nail bed smooth and low, so growth is not obvious! This is important in order to make them last over 2 weeks ... still looking good! The salon is nice and in a convenient location. You will be amazed at how good your nails can look! read more

I really enjoyed the service that I received in this nail salon. They did charge me a little bit more for some simple flower designs but it's understandable. It was 45 for simple nails and 12 extra for the design, a total of $57 for the whole nail set. Aside from the price, I was satisfied with the nails. read more

I was recommended by someone on the east county Facebook page to see Sophie. I made an appointment & when I walked in, she greeted me by name even though I have never been there before. She was super sweet & the customer service was amazing, not just with her. A lady came in & they charged her phone because it died while she was shopping. They offered everyone tea or water & it was just great vibes all around. My nails on the left hand were kind of uneven but it may just be the dip powder. I noticed when I got home. I will be back, though, simply because of the great service. She messed up on three nails & insisted she fix them, even though I told her it was okay. read more

I'm a regular here and recently had a unique situation that was ultimately fixed…read more I came in with long natural nails, but one (my pointer finger) had broken. Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.

Never had one problem at all at the salon. Today I had an absolute awful experience. I don't know if Linh is not experienced in Gel-X fill (she didn't even clean underneath my fingernails at all and they came out all lumpy) or she just had a bad day. Automatically she was in a bad mood the minute I sat in her chair. She had on a "stank" face and the way she spoke to me was extremely rude (what did IIIIIIII do to you??). No big deal I thought, everyone has a bad day! But then she proceeded to do my nails and literally made almost every single one of my fingers bleed! Like blood was coming out! Coming to the salon should be relaxing, but she made me stress out so much that my hands started shaking! Couldn't enjoy the pedicure that I was getting done at the same time at all!!!! I'm including a picture, and mind you that's after cleaning up all the blood. And it's only my left hand, my right one is worse!!! Do not get your nails done by Linh, she's awful, rude, disrespectful and just not good at her job at all!!!!!!!! NEVER had I more worse experience in a nail salon my whole life, and I'm almost 40! P.S. she also had extremely dirty gloves on (stained yellow that they started turning dirty brown), that also were ripped on some of her fingers! Jeeze lady, can't even change your DISPOSABLE gloves?!?

The technician who worked on my feet was detail oriented which I appreciated. I had a pedicure which included soaking my feet, cuticle care, trim, and small massage. I opted out of nail polish. That was $30. My father received a simple nail trim and that was $20. The customer service is the reason my rating wasn't higher. My father is in his 80s. He sat waiting for someone to come over while I was immediately attended to. When his tech came over, not only did she seem to keep looking for her next opportunity but she quickly left when done. It made me nervous to see my father get in and out of the chain and even worse when he reached down to get his sox. I kept thinking he could easily have fallen. When I ask for them to hand him his sox as I was sitting next him getting my feet done, the tech was called back over and basically tossed the sox on to his tummy. The reason this stood out to me is that other places we have gone have been more helpful and seemingly respectful. Seeing other reviews, we may have just hit them at an off day or perhaps I was being too sensitive. For me the price and experience didn't quite match.

Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.

In the background, they had a relaxing musical playlist that included nostalgic 50s tunes and fun 90s pop music. After my nails were finished, I decided to enjoy a 15-minute neck massage, and it was heavenly. She used oil along with a soothing, pain-relief heating ointment that felt amazing. I spent a lot on mine and my daughter's nails and we both were very disappointed, went to another salon the next day to have them removed. My pedicure went great, but wouldn't recommend for a full set.

After asking the lady to fix my toe because she took the toilet paper that in between my toes she scraped the nail polish right off and she fixed it by trying to add more paint and I asked her to take it off and redo it because it was starting to get super thick and this is what it looks . like the Polish wasn't even around my toes it's all on my toes the color is cuz she wanted to rush and put the clear coat on top of it this will be the last time I ever go to this location horrible job for $33 my kids could have pain in my toes better and not to mention she didn't even clean my cuticles and I paid extra for that as well as the dry skin and she didn't do that either so I paid money just to have to go home and fix everything and not to mention a customer of theirs ask for a specific color and what was put on her foot was another color and when she asked them to fix it they argued with her which is fine but then a whole nother person that works there started talking about her to another customer right in front of me and that is just horrible I will not be going back to this location read more

I would like to just say I am a manicurist and usually do not let ANYONE do my nails....but about a month ago my 8 year old daughter and I were having a girls night she asked if we could get a pedicure I said sure but I don't know where to go! As we went to Starbucks for a treat I noticed Star Nails I said we will try there! As we went in we were greeted and sat right down ..... Remember I don't let anyone do my nails! Well that's when I met Quyen she was awesome and the other gal whom took my daughter made her so happy! In fact today we had another girls night and what do you think she wanted to do ..... Get nails done! When we got there they were very busy I asked for Quyen and was treated as I had known them forever! Anyways to all you who think they just try to up sell....that's not the case! I love coming here. I have been seeing Cindy here for a very long time. Been through several owners and today I was so impressed ! New owners again but they were so friendly and accommodating. Sofie and Thomas and Cat were awesome. Cindy still is the best! She does my fill/mani and pedi. But Sofie greeted me at the door and welcomed me and introduced herself. Next was Thomas asking if I would like a water or anything else to drink. He asked me if there was anything I would suggest to make the same place more welcoming. They just took over on Monday and already had new stations and shelves and nail polish station. Awesome! Can't wait to see how it grows. read more

I've been going here for about 5 years now and I feel like it's time to leave a review. All the ladies (and men) in this salon are so wonderful and friendly. They remember my name and the services I typically get. I've recently started getting Gel Dip some because I was healing my nails for 7+ years of acrylics and I'm hooked Sophie does myy hands and Trish is a goddess when it comes to foot massages. I literally just want to have a pedicure every week so she can rub my feet. Highly recommend coming here for your hand and feet pampering. The young guy with pierce ears was very rude and physically abusive!. If I didn't have my hands turned exactly the way he wanted them he would hit my hand and push it away! He had NO patience!! Cindy always takes care of my nails and she always makes time for me to come in even on short notice. This was a new set as a coffin shape and a cuticle cut. I come in every 2 weeks for a fill and the girls never disappoint. I also had a pedicure which they did at the same time so that I could get in and out within the hour. read more

All they care about is your money & their tips, and on top of that, the nails don't even last. Im not even joking, I got them done yesterday and two nails already came off. This is unbelievable and such a waste of money. You can get such better service and nails at another place, I do not recommend this nail salon. read more

Sophie did an amazing job both shaping my acrylics and being patient when finding the colors. The salon had a variety of colors to choose from, so I found the perfect ones to use in my set.
