Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.

Never had one problem at all at the salon. Today I had an absolute awful experience. I don't know if Linh is not experienced in Gel-X fill (she didn't even clean underneath my fingernails at all and they came out all lumpy) or she just had a bad day. Automatically she was in a bad mood the minute I sat in her chair. She had on a "stank" face and the way she spoke to me was extremely rude (what did IIIIIIII do to you??). No big deal I thought, everyone has a bad day! But then she proceeded to do my nails and literally made almost every single one of my fingers bleed! Like blood was coming out! Coming to the salon should be relaxing, but she made me stress out so much that my hands started shaking! Couldn't enjoy the pedicure that I was getting done at the same time at all!!!! I'm including a picture, and mind you that's after cleaning up all the blood. And it's only my left hand, my right one is worse!!! Do not get your nails done by Linh, she's awful, rude, disrespectful and just not good at her job at all!!!!!!!! NEVER had I more worse experience in a nail salon my whole life, and I'm almost 40! P.S. she also had extremely dirty gloves on (stained yellow that they started turning dirty brown), that also were ripped on some of her fingers! Jeeze lady, can't even change your DISPOSABLE gloves?!?

A good set should be thin, not bulky or puffy, with a smooth surface (no lumps or dips), a clean cuticle area (no product on the skin), and straight, even shaping. When these things are off, it's noticeable right away. I'm not sure if it's the products being used, the application, or rushing, but for a mid-to-high price range, I expected better consistency and attention to detail. I was also told it was due to my natural nails, but I've had my nails done at other salons and never experienced these issues, so I don't believe that's the case. I really appreciate their willingness to fix the work, but I'd prefer a place that gets it right the first time without needing adjustments. Especially since those adjustments aren't the best either... Getting your nails done should be a fun, relaxing experience, not one where you're worried about the outcome each time.

Santee Nails also doesn't play this weird new-gen game of charging you for every little thing under the sun. The photos attached are only a couple out of, like I said, about a decade's worth of nail sets (and don't even include all of the pedicures done by Twin - AN ABSOLUTE SUPERSTAR!). The salon as a whole is always clean, bright, and something fun to watch. Even after she left for college and then came back, her Mom continued to do my nails and continued the same fabulous work. I recently moved out of town and refuse to see someone new, and will be back when I'm visiting again.

After asking the lady to fix my toe because she took the toilet paper that in between my toes she scraped the nail polish right off and she fixed it by trying to add more paint and I asked her to take it off and redo it because it was starting to get super thick and this is what it looks . like the Polish wasn't even around my toes it's all on my toes the color is cuz she wanted to rush and put the clear coat on top of it this will be the last time I ever go to this location horrible job for $33 my kids could have pain in my toes better and not to mention she didn't even clean my cuticles and I paid extra for that as well as the dry skin and she didn't do that either so I paid money just to have to go home and fix everything and not to mention a customer of theirs ask for a specific color and what was put on her foot was another color and when she asked them to fix it they argued with her which is fine but then a whole nother person that works there started talking about her to another customer right in front of me and that is just horrible I will not be going back to this location read more

I would like to just say I am a manicurist and usually do not let ANYONE do my nails....but about a month ago my 8 year old daughter and I were having a girls night she asked if we could get a pedicure I said sure but I don't know where to go! As we went to Starbucks for a treat I noticed Star Nails I said we will try there! As we went in we were greeted and sat right down ..... Remember I don't let anyone do my nails! Well that's when I met Quyen she was awesome and the other gal whom took my daughter made her so happy! In fact today we had another girls night and what do you think she wanted to do ..... Get nails done! When we got there they were very busy I asked for Quyen and was treated as I had known them forever! Anyways to all you who think they just try to up sell....that's not the case! Who wouldn't offer a better service wait probably someone who doesn't care about their work! I love coming here. I have been seeing Cindy here for a very long time. Been through several owners and today I was so impressed ! New owners again but they were so friendly and accommodating. Sofie and Thomas and Cat were awesome. Cindy still is the best! She does my fill/mani and pedi. But Sofie greeted me at the door and welcomed me and introduced herself. Next was Thomas asking if I would like a water or anything else to drink. He asked me if there was anything I would suggest to make the same place more welcoming. They just took over on Monday and already had new stations and shelves and nail polish station. Awesome! Can't wait to see how it grows. read more

I've been going here for about 5 years now and I feel like it's time to leave a review. All the ladies (and men) in this salon are so wonderful and friendly. They remember my name and the services I typically get. I've recently started getting Gel Dip some because I was healing my nails for 7+ years of acrylics and I'm hooked Sophie does myy hands and Trish is a goddess when it comes to foot massages. I literally just want to have a pedicure every week so she can rub my feet. Highly recommend coming here for your hand and feet pampering. The young guy with pierce ears was very rude and physically abusive!. If I didn't have my hands turned exactly the way he wanted them he would hit my hand and push it away! He had NO patience!! It was obvious he talked about me to the girls ..He was very hard to understand. He should not be working in this business!! I have never been treated so bad !! read more

Cindy always takes care of my nails and she always makes time for me to come in even on short notice. This was a new set as a coffin shape and a cuticle cut. I come in every 2 weeks for a fill and the girls never disappoint. I also had a pedicure which they did at the same time so that I could get in and out within the hour. read more

All they care about is your money & their tips, and on top of that, the nails don't even last. Im not even joking, I got them done yesterday and two nails already came off. This is unbelievable and such a waste of money. You can get such better service and nails at another place, I do not recommend this nail salon. read more

Sophie did an amazing job both shaping my acrylics and being patient when finding the colors. The salon had a variety of colors to choose from, so I found the perfect ones to use in my set. I like to get fancy pedicures once in a while but can't afford it with the $60-90 price range and options. For something low key, just to get your nails done simply with no fuss or fanciness, this was perfect. They did an efficient and clean job, and my regular pedi was only $35 with $5 extra for a salt scrub. Since it's just the two of them, the place is tiny with only three pedicure/massage chairs and two manicure stations. They're happy to take walk-ins as I don't think they get too busy.. but there were two customers before us and two after, so we just happened to come at the perfect time for just the two of them to handle everyone with little wait. I'm sure it helps to call for an appointment though. Their polish selection is limited. Again, if you adjust your expectations, this is a great salon. For non-fancy people, my daughter and I were happy and will be back. My wallet is especially happy!
