One of the guys who worked there, (forgot the name) was so informative, and helpful in the buying process on what's recommended for the plants and usage as well as quality plus the pros and cons of each. This garden center offers high quality trees and plants. They often have sales and discounts. I bought several beautiful trees. A Purple Chaste Tree, and a Muskogee Lavender Crepe Myrtle. I had previously purchased a total of 8 Italian Cypress and a dozen more plants from this location. 1 of the tree died and I was concerned the others won't survive. Manager Faton took the time to understand my gardening needs and offered tailored advice on how to care for my Italian Cypress trees. What stood out the most was his extensive knowledge about the tree. He provided insightful tips on care and maintenance, which made me feel confident that the rest will survive going forward as long as I follow his instructions. I am extremely disappointed with Star Nursery's service. My order was missing items, which prevented me from meeting my HOA's tree-planting deadline. Because of their incomplete delivery, I was charged extra fees by my HOA. There are many nurseries in Vegas, but this is a good place for beginners like me. Each plant is well explained and the prices are reasonable. There are several sites, and the condition of the plants is different at each site, so it is a good idea to visit several places at your leisure to choose the best plant. I left this morning feeling very unimpressed with the service I received from management. The employees who were on the floor assisting me were as helpful as they could be and were very kind but it seemed like management didn't even want my business. I walked in to arrange delivery for a project I'm working on; 80 plants. 80! That's a lot for me to go out into the yard and hand select, right? Well management didn't think so. The manager insisted that I could not just give them the list of what I wanted and pay. I had to go out into the yard with my 1 year old in her stroller on a hot day and hand pick each of the 80 plants I wanted. Not impressed. I called the Eastern location and was told that they would happily take my list at the contractor counter and deliver what I wanted. I understand inventory is limited at some locations but the Tropicana location could have at least done an inventory check and made sure they had what I needed (turns out they had less than half) before I had to trek around in the sun with my small child, who I was concerned about overheating. I will likely not be back to this location. I'll go elsewhere for my gardening needs. Sadly this location lost a pretty good chunk of revenue today. read more

First time here and was very pleased with their prices! They have an amazing variety and selection of all types of plants and trees. Inside the building they have all your sprinkler and landscaping needs, including a contractors desk. The only down fall is that they don't deliver or plant anything. According to the employee, this is how they are able to keep their prices affordable. That's a slight downfall as it's very tricky to plant things in Las Vegas soil, you can't just dig a hole and plant things here... you need a professional to prep the soil before hand, and that has the knowledge of which plants you need depending on how much sun and shade you get in the area you want to plant. Yay for Star Nursery! Reason for my visit...Where I live the HOA told all residents we had to remove our privacy mesh gate coverings as its a 'fire hazard' I was not happy and neither were any of my neighbors. So, now my extended balcony is wide open for the world to gaze upon. I am outside at least half my day and I don't like being exposed to whomever wants to see my space. Its an invasion of privacy in my opinion. I thought about many options and decided on some outdoor privacy plants that can enjoy sunshine from sunrise to about noon. I met with Charlie who graciously showed me so many outdoor plants that would work for me. So many to choose from! I wanted them all! He also helped me select the right size pots to put them in. We looked at so many options and decided on the Japanese Boxwood and extra tall pots. I purchased two of each. They are so full and fluffy, I just love them and cant wait to nurture them. They grow as tall as 6 ft! I am on a bit of a budget, so when I have more dollars I will be back to buy lots more! This is the first time I have ever purchased outdoor plants and I'm so excited. All together it was around 160.00 add 45.00 delivery fee, total 207.00 Thursday 6/17/21 delivery curbside! Super happy. Thank you so much Star! I like Star but their pots are ridiculously priced. They're having "half off" all pots right now, so I actually chose one, a plastic one, the cheapest looking one, I wasn't sure as their were NO PRICES on any of the pots! How is one supposed to decide without knowing the price?? Once at the cashier, I told her there was no price on the pot. She went and checked then returned saying it was 30 dollars. I hesitantly agreed to take it. Then I don't know why, but a minute later she said that she was wrong, that it was actually 40 dollars. FORTY DOLLARS for a PLAIN medium plastic pot? I can get a larger, more beautiful plastic pot at Home Depot for HALF that! They're nuts with they're prices on the pots. read more

Came here yesterday 4/14/20 to buy some plants, after being inside the last few weeks I decided planting would be perfect especially since the weather is absolutely amazing out, this place is huge and has a large variety of household plants, outdoor plants, vegetables, shrubs and trees I was absolutely amazed this place is a green thumbs dream, I chose some vegetables and some petunias, they had the petunias in sale for 98 cents each I also bought a large bush and some soil and pots, everything is priced very well for everything it's was about $120, I had a pleasant experience I will be back again for any other planting needs I have, thank you star nursery for a wonderful first time experience!!! read more

BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! If you are a minority you will be treated very poorly! I visited this location for the first time today and I've never been in a Star Nursery ever so I was kinda excited but after walking around a bit and getting confused and I asked for help the workers kinda just pointed me in the direction of what I was asking for. There's no letter's on the walk ways or numbers and also if the worker's claimed they were helping other customer's the customer's gladly told them to assist me and even then they still didn't want to. I then started to feel very out of place after gathering all my plants I needed a new wagon for my pots I asked if an employee could assist me with that I should've known better he directed me to where to get the new wagon‍‍‍. At this point I'm just ready to go so I leave one at the register and then go run to grab the pots with the new wagon and I'm at checkout now with everything and my register guys name is Gabe he ask's me how was everything I tell him honestly it could've been better I've never been here before and you guys aren't very helpful or too nice. He replies well yea that's just how it is around here unfortunately but sorry you feel that way wish there was something that I do to could change it. I told him it is you could be a little nicer, you don't have to be rude and be more helpful Lowe's has all these item's another customer already left and stated she was going there so yes there is something you can do. Then he asked if I wanted him to cancel the transaction while we were in the middle of the transaction and he said because I seemed so unhappy so I could go somewhere else. I was so livid so I let him finish and asked for his name and with a smug look he said Gabe said told me his General Manager's name was Sarah and then even offered to write the corporate number down for me. Mind you I didn't purchase $30 worth of items I purchased almost $150 worth of house hold plants to be treated like that is horrible. Then I called corporate to make the complaint about the situation and it seemed as if was overlooked which made me not want to support a company that would allow their employees to treat customers that way so I returned everything. When I went in to return the items his manager Sarah had to approve the return and I told her about how he through her name around so freely and after speaking with her for about 7mins I can see why. Yes she apologized and apologized for him but then asked me to shop around and she'll ring me out, that's not the point your employees are making your customers feel a dreadful feeling that should've be left behind centuries ago the way this situation was handled was distasteful and I really hope another living soul walking on Gods green earth never goes through what I went through or feels how I felt being in that Star Nursery. read more

Star nursery is a great garden store with helpful employees. They have a pretty big selection of various plants from small in hose things to larger outdoor items. I visited this location on their anniversary and received free tomato plant with a purchase. I was looking for two low maintenance house plants that helped purify the air. The staff was pretty helpful, the pointed me in the right direction and that was it. I loved the cute little red wagons each customer gets to pull all through the store. You can get a plastic floor cover as you exit the door to avoid any spills on your ride home. Also if you're ever curious about what low maintenance house plants to get, I recommend aloe Vera plants, snake plants, a spider plants and golden Pothos. read more

Passing through the doors to the outside section of Star Nursery is like passing through the Pearly Gates and entering heaven...gardening heaven at least. Did you know NASA recommends having 1 live plant for every 100 square feet of living space in your home? Well they do, and as a result, my love and I have started to get some indoor plants, in an attempt to build up to the recommended 32 sometime in the next 12 months. We often stop at the other garden centers, like Lowe's and Home Depot to check out unique plants, pots, and potting soils, etc. They are good in the gardening department, but Star Nursery takes it to another level! Star Nursey has a wide variety of indoor and outdoor foliage. While they are a little bare bones regarding décor, they have everything you need for gardening, with free recommendations from their very knowledgeable and helpful staff. This particular morning Conner helped us with our naive questions and made excellent suggestions for us. I found it convenient that they keep the large (heavy) bags of potting soil out front, with examples bags hanging by the registers, so you can easily get what you need at checkout. I appreciate these extra steps that good businesses take. The only thing I felt was seriously lacking was a set of automatic doors to open, while you transfer your cart full of flowers, pots, and plants from outside to inside. The outside grounds have so many beautiful plants that I might come walk around one morning, just to take in some fresh air! read more

I am actually APPALLED at how amazing this place is I genuinely cannot believe the amount of plants they have for such an affordable price! The staff were also very helpful as we are traveling from California we needed an extra tray to help carry the plants- and with no hesitation one of the workers got one for us. I've always liked Star Nursery. I like their variety of plants and supplies. I had a great experience with the guy at the irrigation desk, this week. I described a problem I was having with my drip system. He took time to listen...showed me the Solenoids he had and I was able to match it to mine. He then suggested that I replace the gaskets and spring. I bought a kit and installed it. It worked perfectly. This is but one good example as to why I like Star.
