We purchased our beautiful Lillie Rae from Star Pups. My husband and I was just browsing and not intending to buy, but she stole our hearts right away. We had a great experience with Nancy. She was very knowledgeable and took her time with each customer. We are happy with our purchase of a toy Morkie. The only down fall is Lillie Rae is difficult to potty train outside. She was used to using the bathroom in the crate. This has been quite the challenge but we are hoping that she will eventually learn not to use it where she plays and sleeps. I know...you should always rescue, not buy. But with corona & all that the shelter was literally out of dogs. So I went to Star Pups & ended up with a beautiful little Goldendoodle. He's in perfect health, was already crate trained and has been a joy to me in this hard time. The shop was clean & all the dogs were adorable and seemed very healthy. The staff was friendly, taking all the necessary precautions, and seemed to really care about the dogs. So yes, buying a puppy isn't the best thing...but if you're going to this is a great place. Be careful, they pull a bait and switch. We put half our money down on a puppy and financed the other half. We went to pay it off 6 months later and to our surprise it was not financed it was leased. The puppy was approximately $3700, we put $1800 so we were under the impression that the balance was $1900 with interest. Now, being a lease the buy out was $3200.00. So at the end the total for our dog was $5000. If we would of continued with the lease the ending pay off of that would of been $4600. You can do the math. I've been to this establishment more than once and I don't agree with how they conduct their business. The manager Sherman is a con artist who is just trying to make the most money from the highest bidder. The dog I was interested in a few months ago is now listed at $600 higher and the price is now nonnegotiable. Seemed as though the manager was taking advantage of the Coronavirus and charging more based on demand. Did more research after this and found that in the past Star Pups ran into legal issues and was fined by Palm Beach County for providing inadequate warranties to consumers and for housing animals in conditions that don't meet the proper standards. I purchased a "Siberian Husky" from Star pups with a medical background that came up clean. My dog seems very healthy and very active now. At first the pup was super shy and would hide or shrink back at the sight of a hand reaching out to pet him (maybe abuse?) Me and who I thought was the owner settled on a price around $1,100 just for me to find out about hidden fees and cost that actually was running me in debt $2,200. Very slick at making me think I was getting a deal when in reality I was paying way more than I thought. I'm leasing the dog and plan to keep him so all I can do is keep paying but if you purchase a pup from here, be wary of pricing, health issues and breed uncertainty. The two guys seemed very helpful though very much like they were trying to push the dogs out and sell sell sell. I love my dog and am satisfied with my new family member but I had been taken advantage of and that's not right. They do indeed have beautiful animals with many personalities plus I have witnessed them grooming the pups time to time. Not sure if they are eating well enough but if you want a pup fast that you can take home same day then swing on by just be cautious of EVERYTHING. Don't let them intimidate you to buy. I recommend everyone go and purchase their fur baby from this place! I purchased my cocker spaniel from them on Sunday & I am in love! the service was great and Nancy is AMAZING! She will answer all questions and let's you play and spend a lot of time with the puppy while at the pet shop to make sure you and the dog are compatible. she made the checkout process so smooth and fast & she even gives you her cell phone number in case you have any questions once your fur baby is gone and home with you. She even allowed me to call her after hours at night to answer my questions on potty training. She gave me so many tips and pointers. She is amazing and you can tell she loves the puppies because when I took my baby home, it was so wholesome watching her take my little guy out and hug/kiss him goodbye! I LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

If I could have given this place ZERO STARS I would have. The puppies did not look well. They were very lethargic & showed no interest in having any interaction with anyone there. The pens were not cleaned out & had several piles of feces. With the filth, no lights on, front door propped open, it appeared that there might not have been any electricity on. This whole place screamed "STAY AWAY". This is just about the appearance and my first impression of the actual store. NOW, the biggest problem was the "owner" & his "buddy" there. These are 2 young MEN that appeared not to give a "RATS ASS" about those puppies. I was in there 8 minutes & still was not acknowledged by either of them. I finally pursued to obtain their attention by asking about one of the puppies and may I see it. The one that appeared to be the "Big Cheese Owner" just did not want to be bothers. He wanted to know if I was going to purchase it. I replied, "Not without interacting with it". He was just so OBNOXIOUS. I just was about to loose it, so I decided to leave. I told him that I had driven 37 miles to come and see his puppies. It was the 3rd place that I had stopped at and I really wanted to purchase a puppy somewhere that day. I did tell him that I would not purchase any from his establishment. He said a few wonderful things with a very snotty attitude and a judgement about myself. I am a 63 year old female who has been in business for 37 years in Palm Beach County. So in other words, I am not a person that has not been around and I really hesitated in writing this review. I don't want to ruin anyones business. Bottom line though is someone needs to care and worry about those puppies. In my opinion, these guys are not going to be in business very long. It already appeared like they were going to "fly the coop" and shut down. They will never be able to sustain any successful business that will give them any sort of income to pay any rent let alone everything else it requires. Business is not as easy as people think. Get up and clean the place and above all at least acknowledge your customers. By the looks of your other reviews I am not the only one that has the same opinion of your establishment. People please if you do purchase a puppy make sure you do your do diligents and have YOUR vet check it out. Puppies cost so much money today. Plus check out the paperwork and follow through on the reviews of the breeder. We all fall in love with a puppy, but do not put yourself through the heartache of a sick puppy. read more

I had a very good experience here at Star Pups. I was looking for a male Boston Terrier and had been checking websites looking at pictures. I went to SP's website and looked at the "other available puppies" tab. Lo and behold there was the cutest Boston Terrier. It was a girl but I was ok and she was perfect. Sherwin was very helpful, walked me through the process. She arrived in a few days. I did not want to wait for the vet to arrive at the shop to give her an exam. I was eager to get her as Hurricane Irma was approaching. Sherwin drove the puppy himself to the vet to get her exam and final shots. He called me as soon as he was on his way back to the shop. I met him there and fell in love as soon as I saw her. I took her to my personal vet. She is in good shape. She is healthy, alert, beautiful and very smart. Overall, I am very pleased. read more

She is one year old now , I just found out she has hip dysplasia and she has to be on medication for the rest of her life and it cost 100.00 a month . I called the owner Danny and he promised to compensate me , well so much for that promise , Sherwin avoided my calls and told me the owner would call me back . Lies and the dysplasia is hereditary and it's severe she drags her1 back legs because she can't walk now . This business is a puppy Mill . Star Pups is a puppy store and not a grooming place. We first went there at least a year ago and within this time bought three puppies with them. We were told how they fully guarantee their pups until we had a problem with our King Charles Cavalier Spaniel puppy. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. Their Vet did not do anything that helped this so we took him to our own Vet. After spending $400 for X-rays and medication he was finally healthy. When we started asking for a refund is when the attitude changed dramatically. We brought them our Vets notes and everything our Vet had 4 times and they kept saying it's not enough. It was obvious they had no intention to honor their guarantee. We were going to buy a 4th pup which was a female King Charles. We were told she had a cough and two times they let us hold her. Then we were told she wasn't eating on her own and finally we were told they weren't going to sell her to us and we know it had nothing to do with her health. We bought her to save her life since we all know what happens to pups that are sent back. We had an agreed upon price that took in the $400. I just pray she is sold no doubt at a higher price so she lives. We were finally told that we are not welcome there any more. Not once in this time did we see any of these pups given love by the two men there. They were moved around and handled back and forth with no love. We sent emails to the owner that never once responded. It's very sad when money and animals are involved. No one there cared for the pups. It's just $$$$ to them. We cared and I still think of that poor pup and pray she's well. Don't go there for your puppies or you will find out the hard way how they really are. read more

Stay Away Far Far Away!!!! I wouldn't buy a puppy from here ever. I unfortunately did and it was the worst mistake of my life. I bought a dog and found out that it had been dropped as a puppy. Then the staff told me dog had a fractured leg and been casted and cleared by a vet. Come to find out the dog was never even seen by a vet and was just allowed to "heal" on his own. Now he limps all the time. Called the owner for resolve and was told he would think about doing something but has never returned my or my wifes calls since. Nothing is being done to prevent the spread of this disease & no customers get warned about this. The manager Sarah & the owner Danny claim that the dogs have their shots up to date, a micro chip & have been registered with the AKC which is all false.
