No, just no. That was the third and last time I went. My lashes are huge and thick but straight, so they really need a curl. The first time was horrible, the lady insisted on a lift even thought I said I need a curl. The result was of course very disappointing. She promised to fix it next time. I had paid for the groupon already so I went back. After plenty of negotiation she agreed on the curl and it came out good. She told me what was the type of the cast she used to remember it for next time. Two months later I went back and I told her what cast we had used that worked but she insisted we should use a new better one. I disagreed but she really kept on pushing me and I stupidly trusted her. The result was worse than the first time. Completely flat. Only later did I realize she had lost the cast I was asking for so she came up with the idea of talking me into a "better" one so she does not lose the money. Also, I could feel the tools in the in eyes' waterline. I could feel the glue running in my eye. It's a terrible feeling. When I complained she said "I know what I'm doing". No you don't. P.S. I'm changing my review to two stars because they apologized and gave me a refund. But I still have no intention to return and regret going. read more

EDIT: Am not sure I feel comfortable publishing my actual experience but it ended up being so full of blunders. It not only ruined my weekend getaway schedule completely but there was much more. For one, I showed up on the day of my appointment and no one picked up and no one was there. It was already hard enough for me to get there, a waste of time and money, and truly ruined my whole schedule. The owner didn't seem to understand or acknowledge at all what had happened. Hmm. It seems that it was someone else's task. So I was given no apology whatsoever until way after, when I brought up the then missing vitamin treatment as well. Most importantly, I didn't even get the Vitamin Treatment I purchased - I asked for them to recheck, and was told I didn't purchase it. Olena is very kind, gentle and understands her craft. I like her. I came in with positive energy and we connected well. So I tried very hard to be tolerant and forgive the scheduling disaster as she was simply unaware as the employees take care of scheduling it seems. However, now- with the service I happened to have, I seemed to have met a lot of unlucky instances. I don't necessarily blame this business. Fact is, my experience was positive but given the actual work, the rescheduling that ruined my weekend plans (including so much belaboring travels and scheduling) and the neglect of the vitamin treatment I paid for- I must retract my initial impression just out of rational. The time I came and no one was there, it truly was belaboring already to get there- rushing there, and truly ruined my plans; I am not picky about this usually but this is important feedback for a business (being respectful of people's time is important because you never know what is going on in their lives; and for me, it involved job related tasks, a friend in the hospital, who I couldn't see and missing out on another loved one. So much time could've been spared had I not traveled all the way to that appointment, but it was just my luck with the potential schedule but I am not upset about that.) They said that one desk girl was new while the regular one went on vacation. I am hesitant at explaining more details because I want to support them but I can't say I had the best outcome. -- Super friendly and accommodating management. Have been communicating with me for like a good half year minimum and have been wonderful. I love that you can text them to make appointments. I had a voucher due to expire and they happily redeemed it for me and kept me in mind for my appointment. I got a lash lift at Star Wax and I am quite disappointed with the results. As soon as I got there, Olena rushed me to the to the room and asked me to hurry up and lay on the bed to start the procedure. I have to admit, it was bad on my part that I had arrived 13 mins past my scheduled appointment due to train traffic but I still think a professional wouldn't rush through a clients procedure. She did not talk to me about the process while she was working on my lashes so I had no idea what she was putting on me and what the procedure would entail. After she was done, I felt rushed to leave again because she had another customer waiting. When I got home, I took detailed images and zoomed in and realized what a horrific job she had done. It seemed she didn't take the time to ensure each lash was brushed straight up or something. My lashes were all over the place and some curled crazily making it scary looking. I bought a Groupon for an eyelash lift and tint with the vitamin treatment. This was my first time getting one and I was extremely disappointed (a bit terrified) with the results. My lashes came out very crimped or "swirly". I'm pretty sure this was because the lash treatment was applied too far away from the lash line and the lashes were not combed properly with a mascara wand. Elena was apologetic and wanted me to come back for another appointment to fix it. I contacted her via yelp to reschedule, and she initially responded but stopped replying out of nowhere. Then texted me asking me to give her a call; I called and no one picked up so I left a message. Although she was very nice and professional, I left disappointed because the treatment didn't work on my lashes (they were only slightly curled). Unfortunately this didn't work for me at all. I have long but straight lashes and have been looking for a beauty solution for so long. The process itself was fine, but when she handed me the mirror at the end I was disappointed to see barely a slight lift on one eye, and absolutely no difference on the other. I told the tech this and asked if there was anything she could do to curl it more and she said no, just don't get it wet for 24 hours. I asked if she saw how different my two eyes looked and she basically shushed me - "no, no, its good." Not sure what the raving reviews are about (maybe just lashes?), but my Brazilian was awful. The service was good and Lena was extremely patient and polite. HOWEVER, my skin literally ripped off. This is the third time I have gone to Olena for a lash lift and tint, and so far this is the best it has ever been. I originally purchased a groupon, but I kept coming back because I love the way my lashes look with a tint. I do have sensitive eyes, and the chemicals burn a little bit, but Olena was very patient with me. She is also very honest. The last time I went she told me that my eyelashes were a little sparse and I needed to wait a little longer in between treatments. I waited several months for my lashes to grow out, and now they look better than ever. For context, I have very blonde eyelashes, but with the lift and tint I don't even really need to wear mascara.
