This is not so much to complain about the personnel in the store, but the Starbucks regional or district personnel who descended on this store this morning (3/13/24) and decided to all place orders at the same time. As a result, the normal paying customers were forced to wait for their orders for about 50% longer than the estimate given on the app. Corporate personnel should never take priority over paying customers. I've never had a complaint concerning the Starbuck store in the Big Y Plaza in Bethel CT. The people there are always nice and friendly and today the manager there ( Dana ) was VERY friendly and customer service focused. I placed an order there through that TERRIBLE UberEats delivery service ( Driver Name Sean ) and was shorted 2 sandwiches on my order at NO fault of Starbucks. The UberEats driver was impatient and left before they could finish filling my order. Dana ( The manager at Starbucks ) was very nice and although my order shortage was not due to any fault of Starbucks, Starbucks in the Big Y Bethel Plaza is the one who is making it right by me. This is how you get customer loyalty and believe me Dana you got it from me. Thank you for doing the right thing and taking care of the customer. Overall, this place is average. The drinks are decent (depending on who makes it) but my main reason for this one star rating is due to the fact that the workers are absolutely garbage. I come here occasionally and I hear them talking mad shit about each and every customer which is extremely rude and unnecessary. I often hear the term "cheap b*tch" coming from their mouths when customers walk out. Majority of the time, the workers give me an attitude for no reason and is just overall extremely rude. They've messed up on my order multiple times and I never complain. But when a customer does complain, you can see the workers rolling their eyes, being super aggressive, and just being straight up nasty towards the person. I recommend driving a little further down the street to Newtown Road to get drinks that are made 10x better where the workers are a lot nicer & receive the tips that they DESERVE. I would give this place a -1 star if I could based on the workers' attitudes. read more

I have driven out of my way just to go to this Starbucks. I have also wished that the baristas at this location could train the baristas at the majority of my local Starbucks because the quality is always consistent and the baristas are never rude. I can't rave enough about this place. My drinks are always made perfectly. I've had experiences where I've ordered a drink here and it tastes completely different from when I've had it at other locations. It doesn't taste worse- it tastes better! I'll pick up on flavors and notes that I didn't before and I often wonder to myself why other locations can't be this consistent. The baristas are so courteous, kind and polite. My order has never been incorrect which is such a rarity. The baristas don't possess an attitude of any kind (which is also a rarity) and they seem to really want to genuinely make your day great. If you're in the area and you have the opportunity to go to this Starbucks don't hesitate. I'm jealous of the locals that get to make use of this location everyday. read more

This place is near my home and shopping are a ... drive through is a nightmare because there is no where to go.. so these idiots stop in the middle of the road!!! Ordered medicine ball tea.. ok but the didn't have any honey... coffee shop selling tea and the don't have honey... so order it!.. 2 days later same story.. take the tea anyway.. I have honey at home.. get home.. no citrus mint tea just mint.. and very little lemonade flavor.. neglected to tell me 2 more components missing.... got news for you jokers... the the word tip, and gratuity ...its supposed to be given on merits... not because you are in the window. Love this place. Always receive what i ordered in a timely manner, and the staff is always happy. The reason im giving it 4 stars is because the drive thru is sometimes a pain. The line sometimes extends past the allotted space for the drive thru, causing the cars to spill into the other sections of the parking lot (and thus blocking traffic). read more

I'm sorry to say but if I could rate this place, it wouldn't even be a 1 star, it would for sure be a -1. The workers here are so nasty to customers. They never greet you in which makes you feel extremely unwelcomed. They always seem so busy with each other, constantly chit chatting and having the customers wait. Often times, I hear the baristas talk a lot of nonsense about customers behind their backs, such as "cheap b*tch" or "I hate him/her" frequently. Not only that, they constantly give me attitude and talk down to me like I'm stupid. Every time I go through the drive thru and order 2-3 cold drinks that REQUIRE 2-3 straws, the barista gives me ONE. When I ask for another, they give me an attitude or roll their eyes. I'm sorry but do the straws come out of your paychecks? Am I supposed to share this one straw and wait til the other person is done using it? My bad for being an inconvenience where giving the correct amount of straws should just be common courtesy or even common sense. If I were you, I recommend not coming here. The workers are lazy, are extremely rude, and don't even make the drink correctly. I would rather spend my money elsewhere at the other Starbucks locations (Newtown Road or North Street) due to the fact that they are a lot nicer and make the drinks 10x better than the people here. They actually engage in conversation with you, don't lack common sense, and are extremely nice. I'm usually a tipper but I refuse to tip the baristas here due to the fact that they are just nasty and rude people. HIGHLY not recommend coming here. This has always been my go-to local Starbucks. The employees are incredibly friendly - the kind of people who will start making your favorite drink when they see your car pull into the parking lot. They pay attention to their regulars and take good care of them! It's rare that I've had a drink made incorrectly here. I'm particular about certain drinks (especially their mochas and chai) and they have no problem with my numerous custom requests. If there's an error, they'll correct it quickly and without complaint. I'm never waiting long for my order and there's always a place to sit - the Bethel location is more spacious and less crowded than many of the other stores in the area. The drive-through is a huge plus as well. This location feels less like a chain and more like an independent coffee house, thanks to the awesome employees.
