Store manager who was very nice and explained that it is a newer policy Starbucks has is to not offer the cup sleeves for hot coffee, only certain drinks (wet) nor will they give a stopper unless upon request. They don't agree but follow what the millionaire CEO says. But that tip is in my face as soon as I get to that window. That CEO is taking normality and common sense away with those standard items like they all do, and these companies are still thriving because we are letting them do it to us. No more tips Starbucks. Very disappointed, will not be returning. This was my first time visiting this location, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. I've never had such poor service at any other Starbucks. First, I stood at the register for about 5 minutes. Several employees saw me, but no one acknowledged me. I just stood there awkwardly while they all continued doing other things. That alone already felt rude and unwelcoming. When someone finally came to take my order, I asked for a matcha frappuccino, but they gave me a matcha latte. I respectfully let them know, and instead of just remaking it professionally, I could hear them talking to each other through their headsets right in front of me, saying things like, "No, she ordered a latte." Not only could I clearly hear them, but I had also politely and clearly stated that I ordered a frappuccino. They took the drink back and gave me a second one but it was clearly just the latte blended with ice. It was watery, runny, and nothing like a real thick frappuccino. When they handed it to me, one of them even pointed at the drink and said, "That's a frappuccino," like I didn't know what I was talking about. I replied, "Yeah, I know. That's what I ordered -- not a latte." And then they continued talking about me over the headset again. It was just so unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. The staff were slow, dismissive, and clearly lacked basic customer service skills. After reading some other reviews, I realize I'm not the only one who's had this experience. I'll give them 5 stars for taste and accuracy but a 0 on speed or perhaps they need more employees for the volume of customers they receive. This Starbucks is the slowest one I've ever been to. You can't just run in and grab a drink. I left my house 30 minutes early to be able to get my daughter a drink before her game. She went inside, paid for her drink and waited 15 minutes and it still wasn't out. I watched at least 5 other people walk in after she did and they received their orders before she did. I asked an employee if they had an order for her because 5 other people received theirs before her. The employee said "I can't control what order they come in." Which I don't understand because they literally waited in line after her, one girl also ordered the same drink, and got theirs first. So after waiting almost 20 MINUTES, we left without the drink or refund because I now had 5 minutes to get my kid to her bus. One Saturday morning I waited 45 minutes in the drive through. For 2 drinks. Why is this acceptable? It's not to me because I won't be returning. PS google says the Starbucks goal time is 4 minutes, even during rush hour. I have been coming to this Starbucks since I moved in to Carol stream in 2023 and never had an issue. I came in today and got taken care of by Dom and ordered two drinks light ice extra inclusions and got the drinks half way filled and when inquiring as to why the lady was very rude said she was the manager and she's following corporate policy. If I want more product I have to pay more. I asked her since when since I order every day same drink at different Starbucks and never had an issue and she said don't know what to tell you. She then left without saying anything went to refund my money supposedly and charged me extra prices and said this is what you have to pay and now you have to wait for your refund two business days...again no communication. Why couldn't she charge the difference if there's a difference to be charged because we got light ice. I have never been treated like this at a Starbucks location especially by a manager...what's happening with Starbucks? Are we hiring just anyone these days to represent such a well known corporation? Dang, this location is dripping with sour reviews... Well, I'm here to tell you that while I have never stepped foot inside this Starbux, I don't have one negative word to say about my drive-thru experiences. I've been coming here well before pandemic days and have not had any issues with service or my iced lattes. Girls are friendly and bubbly and my crack order is always correct and tasty.. This is one of the few Starbuck's (in the surrounding areas) open as of 4/22 and for that alone I could kiss every one of the worker's here (virtually that is). Thank you for being open!! My awesome guy has been stopping here frequently to grab my morning lattes and bringing them home to me and while the lines have been massive and wait times extended, these workers have consistently maintained a cheerful and friendly disposition. We were told that the reason for other locations being temporarily closed was based on the decision of the employees. Understandable. It's also comforting to see workers at the window wearing masks and gloves...to that I say, Bravo Starbuck's employees for a job well done and for continuing to serve crack heads all over Bloomingdale and beyond. The worst Starbucks EVER. They're incredibly slow, sorry not THEY only ROSE. She makes them have TERRIBLE service. I only hear complaints about that store because of her. She'll start off real nice until you place your order! One time she even told me NO TO A SIDE OF ICE??? What Starbucks says no to putting the ice on the side??? I always get a cold brew coffee, no ice, and I NEVER have any problems at any Starbucks with any barista. Only at this location does Rose give me a hard time. She didn't put in "no ice" so my drink was given to me filled with ice. I politely tell her I asked for no ice, She proceeds to make a big deal about the no ice, and in front of me tells them to add water to my drink to make up for the ice!! not only that but they don't even fill it to the top!! This was my FINAL STRAW. That behavior from Starbucks is totally unacceptable, it is just petty behavior. This location is ALWAYS out of everything, I'm surprised they even have coffee. You're better off going down 1 MILE and go to the Starbucks down the road. Was told they don't have any drip coffee because they have a new machine and it takes 20-30 minutes to shut it down. The quintessential stop by coffeeshop if you ever need a hit of caffeine that is of quality. This review is specifically for this location. Because if not specified, then how do you know which Starbucks to go to since there's another a mile down? The employees are sweet and courteous, the best part by far. Without awesome employees, it's just a skeleton and a shell of what you would normally expect of a big company. You can't ding that, especially when you need that zing of caffeine sometimes. The store itself isn't too different from many of the other Starbucks in terms of its decorations, but what can ya do? It's a super clean, inviting, and has been a great place to study for sure. This is a brand-spankin'-new Starbies located on Army Trail and Gary Avenues. They have a modern updated exterior complete with View-Your-Barista Screens. It was surprisingly EMPTY on a Sunday afternoon, but service was quick and very friendly (Andrés, I believe, was my barista). Too bad this gem isn't replacing the Glendale Heights monstrosity that's closer to home (for me), but it's centrally located enough to be convenient for shoppers and errand-runners. read more

I frequent many Starbucks locations, whether it be inside of a Target, a quick run through a drive-thru on the way to work, or meeting up with a friend for coffee inside. This location by far always puts a bad taste in my mouth (not literally). The wait in the drive-thru is always long (today took close to 20 minutes) and often times orders are made incorrectly. This location in particular also seems to struggle to keep on a regular staff. While this shouldn't be an issue, it appears that new staff members do not receive appropriate training. I'll be going out of my way to avoid this location, at least for the foreseeable future. Oftentimes the wait isn't worth the end result. read more
