I drive past this place a lot and there's always a decent line in the drive thru so I was curious to see what all the fuss was about. Today I took the initiative to actually give this place a try, instead of continuously passing it by. Moka is a cute and small coffee shop that has a pretty broad menu. I was actually surprised at all the menu options. My experience is strictly pertaining to the drive thru. Unlike a traditional drive thru an employee will come outside and take your order face to face. I always like when establishments do this because it makes the experience more personable- and I feel more comfortable asking about menu items. Today I got a medium iced caramel macchiato and the chorizo breakfast burrito. Both were really really good. The burrito comes with a side of hot sauce, and I feel the portion is super filling. My iced caramel macchiato was very tasty, not watered down, and I liked how I could actually taste the caramel. As far as prices go I paid $13.38, it's similar to what I would pay at Starbucks. It can get a bit pricey. Luckily for me- after doing a bit of research I found that Moka does have an app and a rewards program. I just think they should advertise it a little bit more. But other than that I truly enjoyed my first experience here. I'm glad I have another coffee shop to diversify where I get my coffee. Starbucks now officially has a little competition lol! read more

Oh I was so excited when I saw this place in North Aurora. Coffee trailers like these are littered all over the Pacific Northwest, but rarely (never?) have I seen one around here. They can be super convenient, in my case because I don't have to struggle with a toddler and hot beverage at the same time. If I was not risk averse I'd consider it a business opportunity! It seems popular, as there was a steady stream of cars in line, probably at least five when I arrived. One of the employees came out to take our order whilst we were waiting in line a la Portillo's. It did mean that the drink I ordered was ready more quickly, but I wasn't able to study the menu as long. They don't have their full menu on the board, which is annoying. All the drinks are listed (with the exception of any specials they may have, which they may or may not have) and the menu board says to ask about the food they carry but the food isn't listed. There's a digital sandwich board that cycles through some of their items and specials, but you can't always catch everything as the images cycle through. The hot chocolate I ordered was really good. I also ordered a couple of sausage muffins and they were delicious. I haven't tasted something quite like it and I wish I knew where to get them for my own kitchen! They have sausage, cheese, egg (I think) and a bit of maple flavor to them. They don't say this on the description but I think they may be baked in a little bit of pancake mix because there seemed to be a dough that encased all the ingredients. I'm going to have to look for a recipe because I've made egg muffins before too but this is a good way to make sure that they retain their shape well and probably also reheat better. If I'm in the area I'll definitely come back to Moka. read more

No wonder this place has such good ratings, it was phenomenal! We had a turkey egg sandwich on an English muffin and a chorizo burrito. We also got a sport tea with lavender and lemon and a caramel macchiato with oat milk. The food was AMAZING!!! I was not anticipating having a made to order sandwich and perfectly rolled burrito from a drive through coffee stand! The coffee is very smooth and the balance of syrup and milk was PERFECT! The tea was lovely as well. The staff were very friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu as we had never been here before, they were awesome! MATCHA GIRLIES, this review is for you. If you've been contemplating on getting their matcha or stick to their coffee, stick to their coffee! Matcha was absolutely vile. They got me drinking shrek MILK. No matcha at all and no ube, just straight up milk (and I ordered oat milk too and it tasted like regular milk; criminal) I was very disappointed especially in this economy?! Reminds me a lot of the scooter coffees that are popping up . Little drive up coffee shops. I will say this for Moka, they had great service. They also had a walk up window with several benches outside there which was really nice. These Scooter joints have nothing. Moka has plenty of parking. My friend had the green tea. I had the Jamaican cool brew with creme. I could taste a bit of the maple flavor. Very enjoyable. It was nice to sit outside with a friend and catch up. This place is a recommend! read more

Just a heads up, the place is a drive-thru cafe with great coffee at decent prices. The staff is super quick and efficient, even during the busy hours. My husband and I are in town visiting family. Grabbed breakfast from this cute little spot today and founds the staff to super friendly. We both ordered mile lattes (hot/coconut milk and iced w/coconut milk) - both were very good. The honey flavor is more present in the hot version but still both very delicious. Also, we did order the chorizo breakfast burrito and the apple cinnamon scone. Very much enjoyed both items and would get them again. The scone was soft and such a lovely fall baked item - wish we got it warmed but that's my fault for not asking. Overall such a gem of a place and would definitely recommend. read more

Starting my day here at Moka is always the right move! Their drinks can be made non-dairy (almond and coconut milks are my go-tos), and I like trying their food options. I tend to go back to their breakfast burritos and Moka bites, but still more to try! I really like how they have their ordering system set up. You get greeted before you are at the window, they take your order, answer questions, then by the time you get to the window you pay and on your way. We had seen Moka previously when we were in Batavia, but didn't stop by because we realized it's drive-thru/take-out only. Since I was in Batavia again and happened to be passing by Moka, I made a split-second decision to pull in. I perused the menu and decided to try out a Jamaican cold brew. I had it with half & half only, no sugar. It was pretty good. I liked it better than Dunkin or Starbucks iced coffee, the latter of which has a burnt/over-roasted flavor. Service was friendly and pricing was reasonable. There are some parking spots, so you could pull in and enjoy your drink there to avoid sipping while driving. As a side note, I was in a sedan and felt really low at the ordering/payment window. It seems like it's designed for SUVs and minivans. read more

The drive thru was packed on a Saturday morning but so worth it. I got the dark chocolate mocha latte double with whip cream and almond milk. The latte was strong and made perfectly. I really like Moka. I prefer them over Starbucks for my Carmel machiotto. I love the Moka bites. The staff is really friendly, attentive and quick without compromising quality. I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because the nutrition information is not readily available. I had to write to ask about calories and amount of sugar in a certain drink and when I found out the amount of sugar I have NEVER ordered that particular drink again. I'm scared to ask about the others so I've since decreased my visits but I still go and only purchase single size drinks. read more

First time here today and it's a drive thru type place. Not sure if you're able to go inside. I got a large cold brew with vanilla and foam on it and it's so good! It was a beautiful day outside today (03/02/24) and we wanted to enjoy one of their many outdoor seats. We came up to look at the menu and then got purposely ignored by the girl coming outside to take orders. Left without purchasing and will not return. Why have all that seating and even a bathroom if you don't want customers to use it? I didn't know places like this still existed, where people truly go out of their way to show they care. I drove here to pick up a coffee for myself after a long night with my newborn. While placing my order, I hardly made any sense and kept stuttering over my words. I apologized and explained I had been up all night with the baby. When I pulled up to the window to get my coffee, the girl at the register stated it was "on the house" (apparently the owner was the one who had taken my order) and said she was so sorry, she knew how I felt as she had a two-year old. Great concept! Location easy to get in and out of and there is a walk up window. We had a frozen coffee drink, decaf of course and it was good. It could have had a bit more sweetness to it but nevertheless still good. The berry smoothie was very good. The service at the window was fast and there were plenty of seats to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air. There is no inside only walk up or drive through. Big brother is around every corner and the masses are addicted to them. Do yourself a favor and give Moka a chance. Not only do they have a similar menu and can probably make whatever it is you want, but they do it with a smile and a very friendly demeanor. Most superb coffee shop in the suburbs. I drove past this place once or 2x a week Finally one morning I stopped by. The lattee was fresh, organic and fulfilling to the senses. The owner was so friendly , I could feel the hospitality. Very convenient set up, fair prices. I really think coffee lovers/daily coffee grabbers should swing through the drive thru and try Moka. Supporting Independent fresh company's are the best for our buck and our health. The top main coffee companys are filled with some unhealthy ingredients - Google it. We were on our way to jonamac orchard when we decided to make a quick detour to Moka for some coffee. Being from the city, I typically get Starbucks, but I am so happy there wasn't one around. This place is a dream! First of, their drive thru is very fast. There was quite a bit of a line when we got there but it went rather quickly. They also have a QR in the drive thru so you can see the menu while you wait in line. I ordered the black and white mocha and it was hot, delicious, and exactly what I needed.
