The typical mornings here the drive thrus are jammed packed! In all honestly if I had time to sit through it I would. But everytime I have to go inside to order. Thank God there was no line inside. The parking lot isn't crowded. This location is prime for being busy. Nestled along Battlefield Blvd. beside Carrarabas and across the street from Panda Express and Lowes. I am so happy for the new seasonal Sugar Plum Cheese Danish. This is my second time ordering this. It is nice a sweet but not overkill. The sugar plum filling and gooey center makes everything nice. It has the texture of a croissant with a simple plum filling glaze in the center. They did well with warming it up. I was unsatisfied when I asked for a plate for my danish. I doubt they rarely have customers that ask for it but I do. It makes eating in Starbucks enjoyable. SADLY, they actually tried to give me a dirty plate! I saw how she was scrambling looking for a mini plate and couldn't find not a single clean dish. She looked at it and still gave it to me. I had to return it and ask for a cleaned one of course..Seriously, it would be below me to eat my food with brown crumbs and residue on it, right?! Aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised by my matcha concoction I thought i'd try... I asked for a nonfat peppermint Matcha mocha latte!! It was perfect! The peppermint wakes me up and the matcha latte doesn't kill the flavor. The mocha marries all the flavors together just right. It is worth making this my seasonal regular morning drink. PEPPERMINT MATCHA MOCHA LATTE IS A MUST! Studying here is great! A little chill ambience and music helps me stay focused. I feel bad only rating this Starbucks three stars. I came in here and tried to use my "birthday" coffee, but for some reason the register said that it was expired. The really nice guy behind the counter said not to worry about it and he comped my coffee. So I was getting my coffee for free anyway. Super nice! But when I got my coffee, it was iced instead of hot. I didn't want to complain about a free drink, so I let it go. I only checked in here this time so that I could give a review. So this isn't my regular Starbucks, but it is my go to when I'm on the other side of town, and up until now I've never had a problem. The situation was comical, and my husband and I honestly laughed at the whole thing as it played out. We go through the drive thru to order. We order with a girl, that no matter how many times we said our drinks, she just could not get it! And we order simple menu drinks! After 5 minutes trying to give our super simple order, we get to pull up. The girl at the window was higher than a kite. I immediately busted out laughing! You could smell it, her eyes were red and glossy, so definitely not a medication. Being that I'm not a prude, and I like to travel to legal states (), I couldn't care less who smokes and who doesn't. But when you get that gassed up before you shift, that you can't even understand a simple iced white chocolate mocha, it's pretty bad. At this point she couldn't even work the register to use my app to pay. Or add in my points for the free drink. She had to call over another employee to do it for her, who used to work at my regular Starbucks. His face was priceless. Priceless! As she was holding herself up against the little barrier wall. The ordeal was hysterical. But annoying enough to let the Yelp world know to be patient if you're heading there on a week night. It may take 25 minutes to order, pay, and get your drinks. Not many Starbucks are located near so many types of restaurants and businesses all within walking distance and near so many houses and housing developments. If I lived in this neighbourhood, I would be here everyday despite the fact I am not the worlds most coffee friendly but I do love the extra desserts and sandwiches. I love the location as it is close to a Post Office, Walgreens, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and a Sonic. The thing I hate about this Starbucks is the drive-thru. We are already too lazy and it has ample parking (which I took advantage of). Four stars is for the unbelievably friendly staff that really knows its customers and how to put a solid coffee drink together! This is one of the best Starbucks in Hampton Roads just because of this! My one and ONLY gripe is the location. It is often extremely difficult to get in and out of during the morning rush (though not always limited to the rush). I occasionally have to skip it if the parking lot is too full and the line for the drive thru is running out of the parking lot. That does not make this morning hater happy! Thank goodness there are other locations not to far from work... but I'd rather stop here. I'd like get up earlier to give me more time, but let's face it, that just ain't gonna happen, people. read more

If anyone hasn't caught on by now I'm a HUGE patron of Starbucks. It's not uncommon for me to visit one store more than once a day or two or three different stores in a day. I'm just a coffee lover like that. With that said, this is my review on this Starbucks location... Location: Situated near the intersection of Battlefield Blvd and Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake, this is a very, very busy locale. It's surrounded by a multitude of restaurants, strip malls and a Lowes. Just navigating to get here can be tricky. Once you arrive, parking is plentiful but you have to keep your head on a swivel. This Starbucks has a drive thru and then there's Carrabbas and Five Guys next door with their customers so cars and pedestrians zipping back and forth makes things a tad bit hairy. I've almost had a couple near calls with the Mobile Swag Unit as is. But then again, I drive like a bat out of hell...but that's a WHOLE different topic for another day! Atmosphere: This location has a nice vibe to it, however, there's a couple of things that I'm not feeling. First, considering the locale, this strikes me as a small store. Either that or there's a gross misutilization of space. There's the standard cozy corner with the two soft chairs pushed into a corner then there's about five 2-person tables sprinkled throughout the south end of the store. Problem is, two of those tables are situated against the glass window so electrical outlet appropriation can get dicey. This store also has a Colonial Williamsburg-like dinner table although its nowhere near as monstrous as the one at the Eden Way/Greenbrier location. Outside, there's more seating, like four or five metal tables with awning and umbrellas providing cover for shade or from the elements. From my observation, the patch of concrete upon which these tables sit on seems to be narrow. This is especially evident on the main entrance side sidewalk. The outdoor tables feel cramped in that space. Staff: The highlight of my visits. They cannot help that they work in a cramped up, hard to get to Starbucks. They are very friendly and accommodating. I bought one of those French Press contraptions from this store last month and when I walked in a month later the barista was eager to hear my review on my purchase. I've noticed good team chemistry amongst the crew and this translates to great quality in the delivery of service to customers. To me, the quality of my visit doesn't just lie in the product but in how the service associated with that product is delivered. Final thoughts: I love the staff but not so much the location. However, I'll find myself in these neck of the woods every now and again and don't mind visiting even if just to say hello. Provided that your driving skills are better than mine you should enjoy your visits here as well. read more

This Starbucks is perfect for studying or just having some alone time in a corner with a laptop, coffee, & muffin. I was disappointed however, I showed an email stating I could get a free sandwich. I get coffee pretty regularly, and I only go to this store if I'm running late to work because it's close by. If you like to modify your order at all, forget it. I feel like every time I go there they get my order wrong. I didn't decide to write a review until I had a coworker go get me a coffee order, written on a piece of paper so there was no confusion. All it was was a venti java chip frappe with extra caramel and chocolate drizzle. Apparently, even though the order was printed correctly on the side, they just left the drizzle out all together. And it tasted like a bunch of blended ice like they couldn't even manage to make the basic frappe correctly. So if I'm spending close to $10 on a coffee and being charged extra for modifications, I wish they would just double check that it matches the label with the actual order on it. I've also had many complaints from my coworkers when we get drinks for each other that most lattes aren't even half way full. It's quite a rip off. read more
