I ordered a Venti Chai Latte through their mobile app and either they prepared it the second that I ordered it, or I took too long to arrive at the Cafe. There it was sitting all by itself at the pick-up counter. By the time that I drank it, the ice was halfway melted. I may not have taken into account that there is literally zero parking near this location, and apart from a private parking lot, the only way to park was a half block across the street, which is what I did. The Chai Latte was still good however, so I don't have any huge complaint there. I sat outside in one of their comfortable chairs in a shady spot and chilled for about 15 minutes. There were other customers doing the same, so this place is definitely popular. I think most everyone took the metro here instead of driving. read more

A Venti shout out to Bambi & Lexie for their contagious spirits & uber welcoming service. I usually go to the SB inside Chevy Chase Pavilion. Yet while galavanting on Wisconsin Avenue, I stumbled upon this location. As I walked in & saw a Mobile Order for the exact new drink I wanted to try out. Bambi with his BAM-BAM presence gave me a mini tutorial on the Ombré Pink Drink & the variations that can be done for allergy purposes. My Ombre Pink with added lemonade & the standard Passion Tango Tea was a good creation. Glad to have a new drink to add to my slowly building repertoire of drinks I can consume. Starbucks are the same everywhere, and ones in the big corporate buildings are typical.... or so I thought. The folks who work at this one always surprise me. They are on point and kind without being saccharine. They are fast and efficient. The place is clean. There is a calm but hard-working atmosphere that the staff and customers all have. It's pretty cool. I don't work near by or particularly enjoy just hanging out in this part of town, but, it's not so bad in this Starbucks! Seriously always impressed by the staff here- cause when you want a beverage to go, you want to get in and out as fast as possible. The staff here makes sure of it! read more

This isn't my neighborhood Starbucks, but I stop by on occasion to grab an item that isn't available at the Starbucks around the corner from my place. As far as I can recall, they've never been out of anything I was hoping to order. The staff members are super friendly, and small talk isn't unusual nor is it awkward as can often be the case. While it is located on Wisconsin Avenue in about as impersonal an area as Bethesda offers, the staff seem to know the customers and vice versa. It's nice to find a neighborhood coffee shop vibe in a Starbucks. Free parking seems rather limited, so walking is recommended. read more

It's spacious, but cozy has a reasonable number of places to sit and work, and the staff seem to be nicer and know their regulars better than most Starbucks. I usually get a double expresso and a egg and cheese sandwich of some kind as I'm passing by and both are always good. This place is always running behind even when it just opens and has no customers. I went today at a busy time (so I understand if they can't get to everything quick enough) but I got my drink at 9:15 and my food at 9:35. When I asked one of the staff members (black women with glasses and head wrap) if they were out of the sandwich I ordered she was really rude about it. And I told her I was just asking because I got my drink a long time ago and was still waiting for the sandwich. She said they don't come out at the same time. And I said I know but this is a large time gap. And she responded YEP very rudely. Then come to find out my food was already up there but the girl didn't call my name (my name is hard to pronounce so I get it) therefore I was just waiting. I could've inspected the bags that were up there but I hate touching the food when it could possibly not be mine and there's always a lot of people in there at that time so it's not the easiest to navigate. Ultimately I feel like the staff (including the heavy set white young man who was the barista) was unnecessarily rude when I wasn't. I asked them normal questions without any tone and they replied with attitude. The barista asked ME a question (what was I still waiting on) and got an attitude when I answered. Overall this place has had so many issues with service over the years but I never complain or even get too upset. But I feel like the staff was so nasty and then tried to make it seem like I was dumb when we discovered my food was out there. There was really no need for that when I wasn't being rude to begin with. read more

Whoa. This is no longer Friendship Heights?! I just crossed the street, and now I'm magically suddenly in Chevy Chase! But the Metro is -right- there! (Does his best Keanu Reeves Matrix impression): Whoa. So... y'know how the DC Safeways have various nicknames? Yeah. Apparently the Chevy Chase Starbucks should be named the Social Starbucks. It's 1648 on a Tuesday afternoon... and this place is completely packed, the outdoor patio with giant umbrellas and wooden patio furniture is likewise completely occupied. And everyone is chatting in little cliques. At a Starbucks?! What trippy alternate dimension have I entered?! What I -do- like about this spot is that there's a lot of natural light that filters in from the giant windows facing Wisconsin. It's a comfortable vibe with some low key tunes playing, the noise of the espresso machine whirring, and the walls decorated with art that I could totally see hanging up on my wall at home. Lots of earth tones. They could do with a smidge more comfy seating, in my opinion. There are two leather (pleather?) armchairs and two cushioned seats. The rest are just stiff wooden chairs around low round tables that really more comfortably seat one than the two or three seats arranged around each. No complaints about my grande iced coffee. It's got me hyped up and refreshed. The staff here seem to be on top of their game (which is somewhat of a necessity, given how busy this place seems on a weekday afternoon). This will be a quick review because how much can you say about Starbucks? But I will say -- this is probably the best Starbucks I've ever been to and my favorite by far. The staff is super nice, the entire place is super clean, there is plenty of indoor seating and outdoor, it is very large and open, lots of natural light, and in a great location in Friendship Heights. Compared to all the questionably clean ones in DC proper, this one was awesome and a perfect ending to my trips to Friendship Heights for doctor appointments. Across the street from Friendship Heights metro. Been here several times. Not the biggest fan of the Starbucks brand in general as their coffee is burnt (they roast for too long). But as far as Starbucks goes, this location is great. Fast service, good drinks. I come to this Starbucks about twice a month and consistently receive poor service. The baristas are kind and say hello then seem to purposefully forget about my order. I saw the barista take my food out of the fridge and put it down on the counter and not directly into the oven as I wanted it warm, he then proceeded to take the order of the man behind me who got a bag of ground coffee. He grounded the coffee and still had not put my croissant in the oven. Then I stand and wait for 10 minutes only for the baristas to ask "if I'm waiting for something" even though I'm clearly waiting for my order. Do not recommend this Starbucks, it's not a matter of being busy because the time before that three baristas stopped and had a chat before asking "if I'm waiting for something" when none of them had made my iced coffee. This is so far the best Starbucks location I've been to in the DC Metro area. I'm here literally 5 times p/wk and they are consistent, fast and have an outstanding team. Being from Seattle, I have to say it wasn't until I ventured out of the area that I learned that there are actually some pretty bad Starbucks, so if you're thinking..."it's Starbucks, what is there to review b/c it should be consistent"....you're wrong, some are actually pretty horrendous, but this one is great! - this place makes a Seattle native happy! read more

This is one of my favorite Starbucks in the DC area. Their hours aren't that great but then again the hours for anything in Friendship Heights aren't that great. Drinks are consistent here and the employees do their jobs quite well. I rarely have to wait too long to get my drink even when the line is long. Whoever manages this store ought to give some tips to other store managers on how to run these places. There's also a gratuitous amount of outdoor seating, which is great when the weather is perfect. Come down to the Rodeo Drive of DC and do some high end, credit card-busting shopping and finish it off with a drink from here. read more

Since I am one of the best costumers at this Starbs (according to mint.com, I have visited here more than anywhere else) I thought I should share my feelings. Well, what I DO love is that they offer all of Starbs' delicious breakfast items unlike some other area locations. I really think I could eat a sausage, egg, and aged cheddar breakfast sandwich everyday. I also enjoy that the cashiers are always friendly and know me by name and drink, tall skinny vanilla latte (no need to point of the irony of me ordering this with a fatty sausage sandwich, I am well aware). What I don't like pretty much boils down to the one barista that works in the early morning hours. She frequently confuses or forgets orders and offers no apology when you finally have to confront her for your drink. Also, I am becoming more and more convinced she pays no attention to which milk she puts in my drink. I know drinking a 2% latte is not the worst thing ever, it is just the principal of it! I suppose I can't complain to much because this Starbs is literally in my building and on Monday mornings, nothing is going to come between me and my coffee. read more

I can't rave enough about this Starbucks. It is by far my favorite of all the ones I have been to. Not only have they never once gotten my drink order wrong (from the few that I choose from), but one of the employees (Carlos) even made a special one off the menu for me to try. ALL of the employees during the morning/lunch hours are incredibly friendly (yes, every single one of them). They always make conversations with me, and provide my pick-me-up besides my coffee by taking my mind off of work. Alvin and Carlos truly go out of their way to say hello to me and ask me how my day is going, which really brings a smile to my face. I have gone to so many Starbucks spots, none of which have given me the level of customer service I receive there. Even when I don't go for 2 weeks, they still remember the few drinks I choose from without fault, and greet me with a warm welcome - sometimes with a nice note on my drink as well. I remember one time when I was having a long day, the simple "smile my friend" note that Carlos wrote on my coffee was what I needed to hear from someone. I have even seen Alvin helping an elder woman walk into the building that is attached to this Starbucks, which is a rare act of kindness to find these days from most people. This location by far has the best customer service (and drinks as well, of course). read more

Best Starbucks I've been to in a loooong time! I always order the same thing, Americano with steamed soy in a personal mug. These baristas left me some room to screw the lid back on, the steamed soy was actually steamed, and the Americano was extra hot! This is the third or fourth time I've visited in the last 6 months and each time was the same quality. I'd say that's pretty reliable! Some places will completely destroy my mug, put in not enough or too much soy (assuming they actually steamed it fully), and ... no lie... one location didn't seem to have added any espresso to the lukewarm water. I ordered a royal English breakfast tea latte , what they made was royal English tea and added cold milk to hot water tea.No signs of frothed milk or what so ever. When I caught the issue they were acting there was nothing wrong with it and then I had to suggest them to make It with frothed milk , finally the shift leader walked in and made it in the proper way. read more

I work in this building so I frequent this starbucks weekly, if not daily. Everyone that works here is professional and friendly. It is a busy location, so they have to know what they are doing. I've never had an unpleasant experience here and the one or two times (out of hundreds) that my food was mistakenly not rung up with my drink, it was immediately prepared and given to me for free without question. There are only two drawbacks I can imagine. One, it is true that this location doesn't have a lot of cozy chairs like some starbucks, so if that was your goal to snuggle up with your drink for a while it may not be the best choice. And two, it is extremely busy at peak hours. I can't nail down a time frame for you but probably about the same as rush hr traffic you may want to avoid. 8am and 12-12:30pm you might hit a line. However, even if you do, they move very quickly here so it has never taken me more than 5-10 minutes of waiting (even if the line goes to the door). Side note: Nice, clean, big restrooms. Would be very convenient if you needed to change clothes while you were there! read more
