I know. 5 stars. Starbucks. But this isn't any old Starbucks. It's the Roscoe Starbucks, and it holds a special place in my heart. It's the perfect little sanctuary: local art adorns the walls, there's plenty of seating, and a variety of seating options including booths, comfy chairs, regular tables and long communal tables. Lots of outlets and just the right amount of noise to get work done without feeling like you're furious typing is too loud. The employees are friendly, there's free wi-fi and free water for when you're cracked out and dehydrated from all the coffee. Plus, there's usually plenty of free parking around the corner if you look for it. It's rare that I would say this about the crazy empire that is Starbucks but this one in particular has become a home away from home. read more

Starbucks' are all serving you the same stuff so it really comes down to the staff. These guys are good. The rest of the review will be written in hopes of one person reading it: The ****** that likes to get a coffee around 630 am with the company of his loud rapid-fire barking dog that he ties up outside. I'm trying to sleep dude, your dog clearly cannot be taken on this trip without barking loudly for 15 minutes straight. Whatever happiness you get from the company of that dog pales in comparison to the urge to step on said dog I have every morning. Firstly - go F yourself for not realizing that this is annoying. Secondly, kindly leave the dog anywhere else and have a lovely day with your fresh coffee. read more

This is the only SB within walking distance to my home, that alone would only give it 3 stars. That fact that it is H-U-G-E tips it to 4, they have booths. Booths. In a Starbucks. Add to that the staff is super nice and makes my nephew half cocoa /half milk tips it to 5 stars. read more

Love the atmosphere at this starbucks! Only drawback is that there are BUGS in the display case and all behind the counter!!! I'll buy a drink from there but i haven't bought any food that wasn't already pre-wrapped for my own safety. read more

I hate saying this, but it has to be done. On weekends I can barely move through this place without needing ear plugs from the high shrill sounds of kids voices and protective gear from getting rear ended by giant strollers. I have begun to travel a little further to other coffee joints on weekend mornings, which is unfortunate considering this is the closest place to my house. I'm not even a kid hater! I love kids! But not when I want a quiet place to read and relax. I know its a neighborhood filled to the gills with new moms and I realize moms need coffee too...but there is actually a place JUST for this demographic right up the street called Family Grounds. Came into the area for a PAWS adoption event. They were giving free coffee to shelter workers. I needed change to leave a nice tip because I appreciated the gesture of the free coffee. My $2.19 bottle of water netted me $15 in change for a $20. It's like they built in their own tip. They did the same thing to another volunteer in my organization. read more

This particular Starbucks isn't very close to where I live or work - yet I keep coming back. I simply love this place. The people who work here are exceptional. I've probably been to a dozen or so other Starbucks in Chicago. This is the only one that I'm inspired to come back to. I particularly enjoy their comfortable booths and the tables by the window. Tables by the window are great for people watching - especially in the summertime. I should probably point out that I'm not one of those people whose life revolves around Starbucks or coffee. I come here probably once a week on average. But when I do come here - I really enjoy it. There are probably five or six Starbuck that are closer to my home than this one. I try not to review big chains but just gotta say this was surprisingly pleasant. There's a lot of space for a city Starbucks and a variety of different kinds of seating. I enjoyed my time here. It's close to a toddlers class I take my nephew to so I'll be back :) read more

Their staff is usually very nice, except they tend to screw up drinks. This locations is beautiful, and the booths are great. It is really hard to find a seat though on busy afternoons. They parking situation kind of sucks too! There is also A LOT of great art on the walls. read more

Not a coffee person or a Starbucks person, but the staff here are really awesome. I just finished a good five hours of Village thrifting next door when it started to rain. I had three huge bags and didn't feel like walking in the rain to the bus stop, so I sat here for a good 40 minutes waiting for a ride. I find it rude not to buy anything so I bought a bottle of water and some tea. Staff was really cool and didn't mind that all 100 lbs of me and 3 bags totaling 50 lbs took up an entire corner. read more

This Starbucks rocks! I live close to it and stop by almost daily. The staff are great and super fun and friendly.

This is my go-to "get shit done" spot. It's a little further away than the other Starbucks in my area. The staff is pretty cool and always accommodating. The baristas are always accommodating and the space is nicely laid out. Bench seating, large tables, window-facing laptop and a PHONE BOOTH all work cohesively to bring the real hometown coffee shop vibe to this otherwise corporate establishment. read more

I have honestly never had such an amazing experience. Praise to the general manager.As a past general manager I can see How the crew is not stressed or over worked. There were over 6 people on the floor on Saturday. Lines were moving and the store was clean. Crew were welcoming and customers were satisfied. This is a model Starbucks or and fast service establishment. I am amazed. Great job. read more

I have to say, "this starbucks is cool!" Most of the starbucks now a days are all the same. They're just different shapes. But the roscoe village starbucks looks and feels different than the others. The staff is really friendly and they aren't retentive about starbucks coffee rules like some of the other stores are. It's always crowded which can be a problem especially if the weather is bad. And sometimes the line is long - really long, but that's a problem at most starbucks. Overall I give this place a 4 star rating. read more

As far as starbucks goes, they are fine. In the morning rush don't be lazy and wait in the drive through line. There is never a line inside. The one bad thing is the drive through line goes right through the parking so it could be tough to get in and out quick. read more

Woohoo to free coffee. The barista showed me how to use the app, and after a certain amount of stars you get a drink on the house. It's a pleasure to sit in this Starbucks location because of the employees- reminds of good ol' times when people were personable and cared about their employer. read more

I love starbucks they have great drinks! But I watch them make the drinks, like if you order a passion fruit tea its 1/3 tea 1/3 ice and 1/3 water so they kiddie corner almost all of there drinks. Like my favorite drink the Green tea frapichino its 1/2 ice. read more

This location is quite busy, but I love going there because they make the BEST Starbucks coffees. I never have to ask for a re-make, but I'm sure that even if I did they will do it with a smile on their faces. Very nice group of staff! Clean! And they are extra FAST!!! read more

I used to love coming to this starbucks to enjoy an iced frap and get some schoolwork done. It still is except when Diane (the lady in charge of coordinating the local art on the walls) is present. She is extremely distracting as she tries to promote the local art. I have watched several people come and go during the past 4 hours frustrated. Diane- We appreciate your coordination of displaying local artists work; the art is enjoyed and sells itself. But, please leave this to be a sanctuary where local people meet, relax and work without being disturbed by loud conversation and the promotion of artwork. read more

Compared to other starbucks on the northside of Chicago, this one's fine but a little subpar.

Good atmosphere but I wish they don't play music when I am trying to read and have some quit time with my coffee.
