Store #5349 (El Segundo, CA) Date: December 3, 2025 I want to report a very disappointing experience I had today at Starbucks Store #5349, located at 2231 Rosecrans Avenue in El Segundo, California. I placed my order at around 9:50 a.m. Since my job is only eight to ten minutes away, I expected to get in and out quickly. Instead, I ended up being 10 minutes late to work because my order was never prepared. My receipt number is 684213. At 10:00 a.m., I asked about my order, and the employees could not find it. I even showed them my receipt--it's on camera. Customers who came in after me received their orders and left, while I was still waiting for a simple small hot chocolate. Finally, an employee named Ivan began making it, but only after I asked for the store manager. The manager on duty, Tiffany, was not professional at all. She was busy talking and gossiping with other employees instead of helping customers. She didn't acknowledge the inconvenience, didn't offer an apology, and didn't try to make the situation better. I felt ignored and unappreciated. To make things worse, when I finally got on the road and opened my cup, the hot chocolate had no flavor--it tasted like water. It also was not filled to the top, which upset me even more after already being delayed and late to work. Because of this entire experience, I will not be returning to this Starbucks. The atmosphere in this Starbucks is kind of dark in a manly way. The leather sofa and cocktail tables makes it feel more like a bar than coffee shop. The drink were A-okay and cosistent with other Starbucks locations. Being on Rosecrans Boulevard brings an elevated clientele so the inside is more adult oriented. read more

I usually have a 5 star experience at Starbucks. There was a young worker who seemed to take all of the brunt for the other workers lack of care.. young Alex was sweet and kept apologizing. The baristas did not let me know they didn't have the syrup for my order, I grabbed my food and waited and had to ask if my drink was coming. Then, they did not make my drink correctly. It was so frothy and delicious when I had it the first time; I wish I would have opted out. I have no say in taking this back or a refund since I already paid and ordered ahead. The workers were chatting around while one person was trying to clean up their carelessness with a smile. I'm seriously sad I wasted my lunch and money. Food was cold by the time I ate it, they didn't have my syrup & then didn't even make my drink correctly with what they actually had. I'll go to any other Starbucks next time. read more

Dropped in here a few times while in town during WrestleMania Weekend. The place is clean and service was fast! The staff are friendly and welcoming. I went in to get a water, I hadn't known the "free water" policy changed since the last time I'd gone to a Starbucks was maybe 4-5 years ago. When I ordered a water I'd been told, in a sort of off-putting way to "next time, you have to purchase something." Inherently, its not terrible but it could've been worded differently and not said almost as if they were annoyed/bothered by my asking. Even something along the lines of "Unfortunately we are no longer allowed to give "free" water without a purchase." Today, I went to the Starbucks location on El Segundo Blvd and ordered 1 Vente Mocha Frappacino and 1 Caramel Frappacino. Upon arrival home, my husband and I realised that something was wrong as both drinks tasted as if they had no coffee in them. I returned to the location and they gracioisly remade them. Again, both drinks tasted like there was no coffee included. Let me say, I have never, ever returned anything I have purchased at Starbucks, I am a Gold Card member, and I purchase Frappacinos more than any other product. Frustrated, I drove to the Starbucks location on Rosecrans Ave in Hawthorne, CA, explained what had occurred and asked if there was anything I could purchase, i.e., a shot that would rectify the situation and enable my husband and I to enjoy our Sunday afternoon treat, fully wanting to pay for whatever was necessary. Niko, who was taking orders, said they could remake the drinks for me, which really really surprised and impressed me since it was not their error from this location. They were so helpful, and to me, they were an excellent example of super Customer Service and salvaged my afternoon treat and reinforced why I am a loyal Starbucks customer. Please acknowledge Niko, as they are a true asset in my eyes for your company. This review is more about Starbuck's in general. This specific Starbuck's is 5 stars for pastry and service. I usually order espresso drinks but today I just needed something hot. I ordered a tall Pike. It came out of a newer machine that can brew one cup of any of their coffees, sort of like a Keurig on steroids. The coffee tasted more burnt than usual for a Pike. Very lively and chaotic Starbucks. It's located smack in the middle of several business malls, and the foot traffic is heavy. The baristas move fast though -- they mean business! I appreciate how they coordinate to work so quickly to move patrons in and out. I bet you rarely see 12 team members behind a Starbucks counter at one time? Well, you will here. Their food displays are organized and I appreciate how their coffee mug display isn't covered in dust like most other Starbucks. I ordered a Venti Iced Blueberry Black Tea and it was put together nicely (not overly sweet like I requested). After all these years of fresh brewed, great tasting coffee...imagine my shock this morning when i received a weak, nasty, tasteless, watered down excuse for a cup of coffee. After inquiring...i was told that they will no longer be brewing coffee anymore...instead they have these new machines that quickly shoot hot water through the beans immediately, with the result being this horrible and quick cup of disgusting mud, which by the way I could make in my own kitchen. I love everyone's personality every time I come in great energy.( except for this guy name Mike if that's really his name I'm not for sure he didn't have a name badge! ) On that Note " Robert & a couple of the young ladies know exactly how to make my drink perfect to my taste I truly appreciate them all. This location is super busy! But they seem to be handling it well. They have enough people working and the young man at the register was so nice we had a great conversation. Wow, there is some serious hate for this Starbucks. I don't know why. With free WiFi that doesn't suck, plenty of power AC outlets, and a fully staffed workforce along with a Starbucks app that does work (at least the two times I've used it in the last two times I've been in May 2018) I'm hard pressed to believe some of the negative reviews I've glanced at for this Starbucks location. So this Starbucks is in El Segundo. There is designated parking for those that use the mobile ordering app, kinda like McDonalds does for those that use their app to place mobile orders as well, except here you have to go in instead of an employee coming out with your order. Maybe that's what people are complaining about here on Yelp? If that's the case, ya'll need a better understanding of how Starbucks mobile app ordering works. Each business has a right to run their mobile app order experience differently. As far as inside the Starbucks, there are two entrances. A double door front entrance facing the main street, and a single door entrance on the side where the parking lot is. Around the single door entrance is where one goes to pick up drinks. There is outdoor seating here facing the main road along with plenty of sun umbrellas that cover the tables. Inside, you'll find plenty of power AC outlets for when you need to study or do work for long periods of time. Speaking of infrastructure, there is WiFi here and the last time I ran a speedtest I got more than 10 Mbps down which is more than sufficient for doing any sort of prolonged web streaming i.e. if you are holding a web conference. Once again, I don't get the beef other users have apparently had here at at this Starbucks. I get the feeling there isn't a lot of Yelp traffic at this particular Starbucks which is surprising to me; I am only saying this as when I checked in today, I noticed Yelp asking quite a bit of questions (ie if this place is romantic, is it casual, do they do gender neutral restrooms, that sort of question base). That tells me this place doesn't see a lot of Yelp checkins which is surprising considering it's El Segundo. We're not talking about a small town in Montana here. read more

@Starbucks petites? Good things come in small pacakges :) Today was the first day of Starbucks 40 year celebration! I saw via email that they were offering Starbucks petites and that during the Starbucks Tribute Days, they would give one free with the purchase of a beverage. There are several Starbucks petites to pick from and this location had a good selection to pick from. They had the cake pops, the whoopie pie, the lemon bar and the cupcake! I happened to bump into one of my coworkers here and they got the pink birthday cake pop. They know pink is my favorite color and they sweetly gave me the cake pop...aww too nice! When I ordered my drink, I was asked by the cashier if I wanted a free Starbucks petite. The cashier recommended either the carrot cake cupcake or the lemon bar. I saw the lemon bar was the last one left and I took this to be a good sign and chose that. Ahh good things do come in small packages because these Starbucks petites were delicious! I loved how they were less than 200 calories too. The lemon bar is classic! Lemon bars are one of my favorite dessert treats and this one had the traditional lemon flavor without being too sour. The birthday cake pop however had to be my favorite though. Not only was it cute but it was super yummy. The pink chocolate coating with white sprinkles and the vanilla cake inside were the perfect pair. Moist vanilla cake and sweet pink chocolate = winner. I love these new Starbucks petites and they for sure will be something I look forward to having again at Starbucks :) read more

Maybe I got spoiled for years by another Starbucks location in a previous workplace, but this place seriously fails in many aspects: 1. They're by far the SLOWEST Starbucks I have ever experienced! What's worst - someone two/three places behind me in the queue got her Frap way ahead of my Frap; and when I did ask about it, they haven't even started on mine!?! 2. They make LOTS of mistakes with orders, especially for groups orders. Hot VS Cold. White VS Mocca. Aarrrggghhh... (C'mon, they don't need to remember the orders - they just need to listen properly and type it correctly into the computer!?!) 3. Hhhmmm... I think the main culprit I see for the two points above is the lack of enthusiasm I see with those working here. No energy - moving as slow as possible. At the very least, I find little small talk. If ever, I don't feel it sincere. And I find a lack of smiles. Again, I'm comparing this to another location where I've had nothing but EXCELLENT service! Unfortunately, I am stuck with this location, being the closest to my workplace. I guess I can always go to Coffee Bean opposite the street. PS: I guess I am NOT surprised that no action, or seemingly no action has been taken to improve the customer experience at this location. This Yelp page is still UNCLAIMED. *ugh* read more

Of course they serve the same coffee just like at any other location. But, what I like about the service here is that as soon as I walk in they have my order ready. Nice location that's kind of tucked away from the road. Surprisingly, there was no line when I came inside considering it's 9 o'clock in the morning on a Friday. The staff is helpful and friendly as normal. Definitely recommend this location and I bought an iced caramel macchiato for my hubby. I was in an out within 5 mins. Excellent. read more

I don't often visit this Starbucks often but when I do the service has been good. They take your order and usually process it quickly. It's a good spot to come in and do work/study because it's fairly quiet. However, it's a small location so the inside seating will quickly run out. The outside seating is a good option if the weather is nice (its California so it usually is). Their ice tea is very good as well as their Iced lattes. Overall, a good Starbucks and a solid choice if you're in the area. read more

The parking is tough, and the store is small, with very few tables. What really upset me is that I ordered my chai latte, and waited right at a table near the pickup order area. However, when a long amount of time had passed wherein my name wasn't called, I inquired. The barista said that she had made my order already. It wasn't there. She claims that often random people take others' orders instead of theirs. This has -never- happened to me at any other Starbucks. How weird!
