The Pandan Latte in a can had a unique flavor. The espresso was a bit sour for my taste, but the packaging stood out. The service was cool, no notes. The cost of the tea, a latte, and a cookie was around $14, excluding tip. They accept cash or card. Overall, I had a positive experience and look forward to attending another pop-up!

Look for the Spandex sign on Gladys b/w 7th & 8th, enter through the gate on the left into the outdoor area near the future home of the cafe, walk into the gallery space where the cafe is temporarily housed. The art work on the right is by Jesse. Chuy & Jesse can expertly guide you through their coffee & tea selections. Jesse really knows his tea -- he worked with Roy Fong, founder/proprietor of San Francisco's Imperial Tea Court, the first traditional Chinese teahouse in America. If you know Chuy from Primera, you know he spends a lot of time in Mexico sourcing his coffee beans. I'm hoping that one day he brings back his lonche de lomo with rolls from Guadalajara. They're in a soft opening phase, with the grand opening on November 1. Drop by and have great coffee, tea and even better conversations!

It was topped with a cheesecake cream and had a chocolate caramel sauce. I enjoyed this combination! It wasn't overly sweet and the espresso was not acidic. The staff was lovely! I asked if I could substitute the espresso with matcha for black sesame in my order and they suggested the flavors would clash. I appreciated their knowledge! The total cost was $8.75, including tax and tip. I look forward to trying their Cherry Yuzu Refresher, which has calamansi juice next time!

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the sweet aroma of freshly baked cheese tarts. These tarts originated in Hokkaido, and the pop up offered a variety of flavors: matcha, strawberry, chocolate, original, and creme brulee. I was told the crème brûlée is the most popular of the bunch. The cheese tarts are a bit on the pricey side, ranging from about $5.20 to $5.60 each. If you buy six pieces, you get $1.20 off. I chose to get the original as well as the crème brûlée. I really enjoyed these cheese tarts. They are rich and creamy inside,and the crust is perfectly flaky. The crème brûlée, true to its name, had a beautifully torched, crackly top. The original was wonderfully soft, delicate and sweet. These cheese tarts are quite the treat! If they weren't so pricey, I probably would have purchased even more. Overall, I am so happy to have gotten to try this pop-up! The Bake Cheese Tart has a permanent location at the Westfield Century City, so if you miss the special pop-up, you can still get your fix there. Side note: prices at the permanent location are actually a bit cheaper than the pop-up.

I follow them on Instagram and have not been able to attend their at-home pop-ups. This was perfect because I was able to walk my pup at LA Historic Park after grabbing my coffee. I ordered their Nimbus Cloud Latte--an espresso based drink. It had spirulina, oat milk and topped with a mascarpone cream. There were nuanced flavors and textures. The sweetness and richness from the mascarpone cloud held up against the bold espresso. There was nuttiness from the oat milk that I always enjoy. It is a great drink and cost $9.13 including tax and tip. Service was welcoming, had a nice chat with the owners. Theres plenty of free parking. I'm ordering their Thai Iced Tea next time!

I enjoyed the earthiness from the matcha and the green color was vibrant. My husband enjoyed the brown shaken espresso - it was cinnamon forward and tasted like horchata IMO. No complaints! The cost was $18 including tip. They accept card and cash. The service was hospitable! Thank you to Evelyn and Ruben for such a welcoming experience! There's free 30 minute street parking right up front or around the block. Give them a try. Support local! I look forward to trying their Churro Espresso next.
