Ambiance: it's a trendy cafe located in South Bay, convenient to freeway and plenty of parking in the shared plaza Service: mostly self-serving here, place the order via the kiosk machine near entrance, grab your seats and water, then wait for name being called once order is ready and pick up from the counter Food & Drink: simple menu for brunch and all day items Bacon, Egg & Potato Skilet - *** Crispy bacon, potato tots, stay egg, mozzarella, tortilla, herbs, marinara sauce, served in a cast-iron pan, slightly overcooked cheese and tortilla, dry edges, soggy tots and bacons, overall bold flavors Truffle Garlic Mushroom - **** Truffle oil, garlic, mushrooms, parmesan, a bit oily, but overall tasty, recommend Hazelnut Latte - *** choice of hot with half and half milk, average taste Sweet Corn Matcha Latte - ***** creamy and tasty, highly recommend Tiramisu Cream Latte - **** refreshing bittersweet, recommend Price: moderate portions and affordable prices, decent cafe food quality, expect about $30 per person for a quick bite with drinks

Super trendy foods served here! I wish I had time to try them! Coffee was super good and they had very unique store set up and logo. Some of my friends were making comments of my cup thinking I did it and told them it was just the shops cup design lol

Wow best matcha I've ever had! What's interesting is they had a "sweet corn option". Very unique and delicious. Great chocolate chip cookie too.

Really cool for the South Bay to get a spacious third space that is open late! Lots of seating and outlets, and does have steady, fast WiFi. Parking lot available. Some outdoor seating available. I got the matcha cream top and it was okay! I like my cream top sweeter and thicker.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Stay Coffee with my little sister! The ambiance inside was dim, cozy, and super cute with a nature-inspired aesthetic that made the whole café feel relaxing and welcoming. It had a lively atmosphere while still feeling like a great place to study, work, or catch up with friends. I ordered the banana matcha drink while my little sister got the tiramisu coffee, and both drinks were delicious! My matcha was smooth and creamy with a subtle banana flavor, and the tiramisu coffee had a rich, sweet flavor that my sister loved. Giving 4 stars only because parking/seating can get a little busy depending on the time, but overall we had a really great experience and would definitely come back again!

What a great coffee spot! The location doesn't seem like much from the outside, it's in an outdoor mall but that also means easy parking. Huge space inside, the tables don't feel cramped together and are nicely spaced apart. Good space to come and do work or meet up with someone. They have a cute photo area and merchandise for purchase. They also have food and lunch items. I went with the sweet corn matcha latte with almond milk. I've never heard of a corn matcha latte so I had to go with that! I also got a strawberry matcha with oat milk and a cream top for my sister. The corn latte was really interesting! I enjoyed it. I asked for it slightly less sweet and it was just sweet enough. I am curious if it's better as an espresso late as I saw a lot of people getting those while waiting. I tried a sip of the strawberry matcha and omg it was SO good!! That one was the winner between the two drinks for sure. Definitely worth stopping by!

    Pretty much gone. It's amazing

This strawberry matcha was one of the most amazing strawberry matchas I've ever had! My sister picked me up a strawberry oat milk matcha with cream top and it's amazing. I'm coming again. Had a sip of the corn matcha latte which was interesting but strawberry matcha for the win!

I was introduced to this gem by a good friend. It was busy with people doing homework, talking , eating . I really enjoyed our visit the food , drinks and service were good . I had to try my coffee decaf due to it being the evening but looking forward to go earlier and try the real deal . The breads we tried tasted great . Don't be scared and get yourself a pastry.

4-1/2 stars This café is unassuming, but spacious that's open almost all day, perfect for studying, hanging out with friends, and otherwise enjoying a cup of coffee. In other words, to "stay" for a bit at Stay Coffee! However, we didn't choose to stay (lol), but rather get ours to go after a long day out running errands. We got the double matcha and sweet corn latte, both of which came in generous portions. Taste-wise, they were decent, with the double matcha nice and creamy (although I do wish the matcha was a bit stronger and less milk-forward) and the sweet corn latte sweet and bitter (although I didn't taste much sweet corn...). All the same, Stay Coffee is a solid spot for a nice drink, with plenty of seating to enjoy and "stay" awhile!

Stay takes hospitality to the next level with an inviting, low-key vibe and a complimentary photo booth to capture the moment. The honey oat latte is nearly on par with Nook's, and the corn latte is a bit less sweet than what you might get at Smoking Tiger (but still packing great flavor). There is a kitchen at Stay making food to order, including Dutch babies and various egg, toast, and skillet breakfast options (served until 2 PM). There are also café-style lunch offerings. The space is small but reminiscent of Awakenings or Mai, and equally as hospitable. On a Saturday, it was less crowded than some of the other South Bay coffee spots. Worth a try for sure.

Came here for brunch after church and really enjoyed it! When you walk in, you'll notice there's plenty of seating, and ordering is done through a kiosk, which made things quick and easy. I was craving something sweet, so I went with the Dutch baby pancake, sliced banana toast, and an iced Spanish latte. The Spanish latte was refreshing and not overly sweet, which I liked. The Dutch baby pancake was interesting -- not your typical pancake, but more fluffy and airy, and topped with lots of fruit. The sliced banana toast was loaded with banana, though nothing super standout about it. One thing I thought was really cute was their free photo area -- you can take pictures and either hang them up or keep them, which adds a fun touch to the experience. Overall, a cute cafe with a nice vibe. I'd come back!

Always great quality drinks and food. Service - owners need better workflow for their employees. They seem too flustered every time I'm here. Something is always off w/ my order. But I gave 4 stars because the quality of bev and food. Coffee never tastes burnt and food is always fresh.

Cute coffee shop in Lawndale! I was craving a sweet corn latte and this place was the only one near me with that on the menu and it didn't disappoint. Lightly sweet, creamy, and perfectly warm on a cold blustery day. Service can be a bit slow because they get busy. It's not just a coffee shop though! They have some food that's served all day and brunch that's only served during certain hours. I want to come back and try the skillet breakfasts! Overall, a good place to work/study but can be hard to find a table. Easy parking in the attached lot.

    Cozy seating !

The space is one of the highlights. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a great place to hang out, work, or catch up with friends. The Wi-Fi was solid, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and lively. The staff were also incredibly friendly throughout our visit. Mai specializes in Vietnamese coffee and matcha drinks, along with a selection of baked goods. My recommendation is to stick with what they do best: coffee and matcha. If you're a fan of dark roast coffee with a strong, bold flavor, you'll probably love their drinks. I tried the Banana Coffee, which was excellent and easily my favorite item of the visit. I also ordered the Mochi Mango drink, which unfortunately wasn't for me. I'd give it about a 2.5/5. The mochi texture felt off, and the mango flavor tasted more like syrup than real mango. That said, I'm comparing it to a version I've had at another boba shop that I personally enjoyed more. Overall, Mai Coffee is a great local hangout with plenty of space, reliable internet, friendly service, and strong Vietnamese coffee. I'd definitely come back for the coffee and to spend some time working or relaxing.

This review is regarding a visit on June 1 between approximately 12:10 PM and 12:30 PM…read more I am leaving this feedback as a regular customer who has purchased different matcha drinks from this business on multiple occasions. I have consistently enjoyed visiting this location, which is why I am sharing this experience in detail rather than simply not returning. On this visit, I ordered the House Matcha with almond milk and paid $7.75. The drink was significantly underfilled, which resulted from my request for no ice. While I understand that removing ice can affect volume, the amount of empty space at the top of the cup made it feel like I received less than a full drink despite paying the full price. In addition, I was charged for an almond milk substitution, which further contributed to the expectation of a properly filled drink. The cup size also raised concerns. I recently ordered a Banana Cream Matcha at the same price point and received a noticeably larger cup. On this visit, the House Matcha was served in a smaller cup, and even the sleeve did not fit correctly. The combination of a smaller cup and reduced fill level created an inconsistency in value that was immediately noticeable. The most significant issue was that the drink contained no sweetness at all. The House Matcha is described as "perfectly sweet matcha" and includes agave syrup, so it is reasonable to expect sweetness as part of the standard preparation. Instead, the drink was completely unsweetened. There was no communication during ordering that sweetness needed to be selected separately, and in prior visits I have never been asked about sweetness level. This is also not the first time I have received a matcha drink without sweetness despite it being described otherwise. By the time I realized, I had already left the store and was unable to return due to time commitments, and it does not feel reasonable that multiple preparation issues should require a return visit. It is also concerning that there is no clear pricing listed next to the different matcha options in the matcha section of the menu. The lack of visible prices makes it difficult to understand the cost of each drink at the point of ordering and reduces transparency for customers. From a broader perspective, consistency issues across cup size, fill level, and recipe execution affect the overall experience. I regularly purchase specialty drinks and would be comfortable paying $7.75 if the product consistently matched the menu description, portioning was accurate, and expectations were clearly communicated at the point of sale. As someone who visits this plaza several times per month, I would genuinely like to continue supporting this business and have consistently positive experiences. That depends on clearer communication, more consistent preparation standards, and attention to detail during both ordering and fulfillment. At home, I am able to prepare matcha easily using a variety of milks, including almond, oat, coconut, cashew, pistachio, banana, and pea protein, along with simple sweeteners such as agave, maple syrup, honey, and organic brown sugar. I also keep ingredients such as whipped cream, sea salt, strawberries on hand, blueberries, and mango, allowing me to make specialty drinks like strawberry matcha, blended matcha with frozen strawberries, or other customized variations. Because of that, the value of a café drink comes down to consistency, accuracy, and convenience rather than ingredients alone. If issues such as inconsistent cup sizes, underfilling, missing ingredients, or unclear customization options are occurring across orders, it may point to a need for improved staff training and clearer standardization. Addressing these areas would likely improve the experience for both regular and first-time customers. I hope this feedback is received as constructive input from a returning customer meant to improve overall customer satisfaction and repeat business.
