We stopped at LL Bean and then went to Starbucks. Not their best day. A fairly long wait before anyone acknowledged that we were at the counter, ready to order. After ordering, one drink came and the other did not. I complained to the only one who would look my way and she said " they are working on it." I said no, they have already made a half dozen others. She reluctantly agreed to make one for me., but the drink we got wasn't even close to our ordered drink. While this was going on, the supervisor was ignoring everything except one employee who was apparently being graded. She never acknowledged that there was a crowd or even if anyone was there at all. They need a new manager who pays attention to business. I'm used to being ignored at Starbucks, but this was extremely poor My advice: Find another coffee shop because this one doesn't want our business. This Starbucks is a good one. Tastefully decorated, and plenty of seating. They have great service and they usually don't run out of products. It is a busy place even on a random Wednesday but handle it efficiently. They did run out of pumpkin bread today but were accommodating with the banana bread. I am glad that this occurred. This is another spotty location for Starbucks. To be fair they can get pretty busy here and the restaurant (including bathrooms) can get really nasty very quickly. The staff does seem to try and they make taking care of customers their priority. Thus the cleanliness sometimes suffers. This is a great location to use the APP and order ahead to go. read more

Usually when I go there I'll order a Vanilla bean Frappuccino with no coffee and no whip cream and I've learned from experience that you should ask them to put extra powder in it because if you don't you'll have a lot of ice left over in your drink their service is good and their location is in a place where you would have to cross a street in order to go there no matter what but still it's pretty good read more

I've given my thoughts some more time to try to brew (hah), and I'm still sad to say that this just isn't up to snuff. Still very few friendly encounters, and now the quality seems to suffer. I'm drinking a luke-warm latte (less than 20 minutes old), and I'm just... Disappointed. I'm not sure what's going on, but this location just doesn't do it for me. [EDIT 3/20]: I went to the Maine Mall location and spoke with some of my faves there, and explained why I missed them so much. Turns out, one of them had been to the Freeport location and had the same experience, and wasn't treated well until after he handed the employee his partner card. So... it takes them knowing that who they're serving is an employee of their company to be nice? Not ok. read more

I went to this Starbucks on a cold February night around 5pm. It wasn't busy inside -- there were five or six people already seated at tables with their beverages, and one person ahead of me in the ordering line. There were three employees behind the counter. One person was preparing beverages; the other two were chatting with each other, goofing around, and looking at their phones. I stood at the counter for what felt like an eternity until one of them finally looked up from their phone and decided to take my order. I'm willing to give this Starbucks two stars instead of one for the following reasons: 1) The beverage I ordered -- prepared by the person who was actually working -- was excellent. 2) It's the ONLY place in Freeport -- aside from Dunkin' and McDonald's -- where one can get a coffee and sit at a table on a weeknight in February after 5pm. read more

The great thing about Starbucks is their consistency. The coffee I get on Monday morning tastes exactly the same as the one I get on Saturday afternoon. I've found this to be the case in every single Starbucks I've gone to. You know what you're getting. This particular location is especially nice. It's housed in a charming old farmhouse close to LL Bean and all the other stores on Main Street. I'm a regular; I've been going to Starbucks for about 20 years now, and I move/travel a lot. The team at this Starbucks rocks! They can clear a line of twenty confused tourists so fast it will astonish you. My drink is always great and exactly how I like it, and that's no easy feat. The baristas are top notch and friendly - not that annoyingly fake, posh friendly that I just can't stomach. They're real. I love the little cottage location, too. The high ceiling, raw beams, and earthy-green walls are cozy and welcoming. It always feels like a crisp autumn day inside the Freeport Starbucks. Loads of free parking nearby, too, thanks to LL Bean. If it's really busy and there's a line for the restroom, just walk across the street and visit the one inside the LL Bean Home Furnishings store. I'm a little embarrassed to say how often I go to Starbucks. But I do. Freeport is prob one of the SLOWEST Starbucks of the dozens (hundreds???) of locations I've been to. I was in town recently for a week and went 6 mornings in a row as my rental didn't have a coffee maker (ugh!). Drinks took 5+ minutes minimum, even when I was only the 2nd or 3rd person they were making drinks for. Cashiers and "baristas" were almost always distracted talking to each other or familiar customers/friends. Um....shhhhh....and make my latte please! 2 of the 6 mornings when I waited prob 10 mins and finally asked where my drink was, they said "oh, someone probably took it. Happens all the time." But in fact, nothing like my drink had been put on the counter. They just were taking forever for NO good reason. Another time they acknowledged that they lost my order. So lame. They were crazy slow on or forgot 50% of my orders. I understand being slow when they're super busy, but I was there early and there was no justification for it. They were just slow and chatty. read more
