I broke my "no Starbucks in 2019" streak today. Just happened to have dinner at MOD pizza next door and realized this location was open. It was also Starbucks "happy hour," -- 1/2 off grande espresso drinks after 3pm. So, since I was still tired and eager to check out a new Starbucks, I stopped in here today for a look-around and a drink. This is Georgetown's second Starbucks location, on the other side of town from the first location. It's also an indicator of just how quickly this town is growing! (Oh, there is a Starbucks in the Kroger's across the lot; not sure if that location will dissipate or stay.) Fortunately, this location has a much easier (and larger) parking lot & drive-thru to navigate than the other location. Major points for that. I was actually impressed when I walked in! Large, spacious, clean, modern interior with one long counter and plenty of tables with different seating. Every booth seat and couch at 5pm on a Thursday evening was occupied (mostly college students), but the taller bistro tables down the middle were all available. (On a nice day, there are also tables out on the patio.) When I ordered, the cashier was a bit inexperienced, but very polite and friendly. At the end of our transaction, he apologized for taking awhile to help me because he was new. Not a problem! He handled it well and I'm sure most of the staff is new (this has been open a week or two). Drink was already made by the time I paid. Wow! Don't think I've had that happen before. And it was perfect. My son also enjoyed his first cake pop! His review? "I like the cake pop!" I'm going to try to get back to my "no Starbucks" streak (for the sake of saving money), so I won't be here often.... but first impression? YES! Love it.

This is a fine location of Starbucks. While visiting my cousin recently we drove-thru this location to grab coffee, and while the line was very long we made it through pretty quickly. The service was quick, and our coffee was made correctly. If you're in the area and looking to grab Starbucks, this is a fine location to visit.

My drink as advertised by company. If this drink is made with care and patience it is amazing otherwise it $6 down the drain.

I have a few issues personally. 1st - I will admit I order a not so main stream or popular drink. However, it is a drink I order straight from the app (the only occasional modification is 1 pump of white mocha instead of 2). I always went to the Starbucks inside of Kroger for this drink because the lady named Patty made it perfectly everytime however, after this Starbucks opened they told me the couldn't ring my drink up for me anymore because they didn't have a button for it anymore. So, reluctantly I came to this NEW Starbucks. By my app history I have ordered this drink more than 10 times at the NEW location. Only maybe once has it been perfect. I only continue to come to Starbucks because they are the only coffee shop that offers coconut milk. I do not for the life of me understand why Starbucks doesn't invest more in the actual training of drink builds. I mean if you dont know how to make a drink look it up on the Starbucks app (the builds are right there). I would rather wait an extra minute for my drink and it be perfect (especially when it cost $5.78) than to get a half thrown together blob. So, this is the thing about every other to every third time this drink has been very lackluster. Below is a pic of how the drink should be vs. what I normally receive. Not too mention sometimes they use dark chocolate instead of white chocolate which is a very bitter flavor in this drink.

I was super excited for a health food smoothie bar to open in Georgetown! I mean, that's awesome…read more Just what we needed!! When I heard about the Wooden Straw and saw all my friends checking in on Facebook, talking about how wonderful this place was, I had high hopes. Well. I walked in and noticed immediately that everything is Herbalife. Here's the thing, as someone that has tried a variety of different health food shakes on the marketing and is actively reading labels & trying to eat healthy (mostly Paleo), I know that Herbalife is NOT one of the best ones out there. A quick look at the ingredients of the Formula 1 product (that they use for their shakes, I believe) shows a very little amount of actual nutrition or/and protein. Meh. There are also Herballife products all over the place. SO. With that in mind, I decided to push aside my bias and try a shake anyway. I mean, it has to be healthier than a Big Mac, right? (It is. I'm not arguing that.) For $6.50, you get three things: a shot of aloe, a cup of tea, and a shake! You have the option of the aloe being put in the tea, which is what I always do when I come here (yes, I've been here several times now). I usually opt for the Chai tea, but there is also green tea, raspberry tea, and another flavor available. The raspberry is good, too! I always get iced tea. I think hot tea is an option, but not entirely sure. Now. The shakes. Oh, my goodness, the chalkboard wall just has wayyyy too many options! I didn't know what to get! There are mutiple different flavor formulas that can create even more flavored shakes! Some of these include vanilla, chocolate, cafe latte, dulce de leche, pina colada, orange, just to name a few. From these, you can have chocolate cake, coconut crush, and so forth. The list goes on and on. After deliberating over what I felt like 'eating', I decided upon a lemon cake shake. They poured the powder in the water, added stuff, blended, and voila! Had a yummy-looking shake ready for me, nearly overflowing the clear, plastic cup. It tasted.... OK. Like a lemon cake. Ice cream. With lots of sugar. And some weird product after taste. Did not wow me. (Because of this, I gave them another try another day and tried a different drink which was a little bit better.) I have tried three different drinks from The Wooden Straw and am still not blown away An another note --- the people who work there are very friendly and happy to see you. There is no issue with service whatsoever. There is always music playing, and I believe, WiFi available. There's a bar you can sit at to enjoy your drinks or a soft couch (near a little kid's play area) to sit and relax. I like what they did with the feel of the place. Do I absolutely love Wooden Straw? Nope. I don't really like the Herballife products. But will I be back? Yes. Sometimes. Because..... these shakes may not be the healthiest, but they're definitely better than a Big Mac. And I do like trying different drink flavors. Cheers. TIP: Check in on Facebook when you're there and you get 50 cents off your drink.

I came in last week for a fruity pebbles shake for breakfast and I don't know what happened but it…read moredidn't taste good AT ALL. Plus they were out of tea and aloe and still charged me the same price. I gave them 4 stars simply because every other experience rather than the last one has been great.
