The cutest and cozy location... This Hawaii Kai Towne Center location is one of the smallest one I've seen yet though for the size they do offer quite a bit of seating about four tables inside and a couple tables outside as I've seen other locations three times the size having less seating. Nevertheless the staff here is just a delight as everyone that enters they all greet you weather it's a shoutout or a delightful smiling gesture they're all very personable...I was grabbing lunch for mom from Māla Market so I swung by for some coffee which makes it a convenient one stop shopping as the errands I had this day was ridiculous. Don't forget to bring your personal cup as it saves you a dime and gain a bonus of 25 stars which is a deal that really adds up to a freebie of your choice...it's not just the caffeine that has great perks. It's been a long time I been to Starbucks in the day time . I usually go in the late after noon. I walk in. I see Patrick doing management duties. He looked good being in charge. We talked a bit about thanksgiving and gave each other a thanksgiving greeting. I see Kiana who I haven't seen in ages. Definitely my go-to location. Mobile orders are a breeze and your drink is ready and waiting soon after you hit submit. Once you are labeled "regular" employees know you by drink and honestly you don't need to have the niceties with your order. Grab your drink and you are on your way. The employees are unique and have different personalities bordering on a certain coolness but that is okay! Your drinks are ready to go! This location is very small but the darker interior with the two tables matches the essence of grab and go. I actually end up redeeming most of my stars here on merchandise because the logo cups and drinkware are attractively displayed. I feel like this store has a lot of regulars and possibly irregular customers maybe put off by employees' attitudes. read more

Lame-the staff is great but the new refill policy for gold star members is really a bummer -they make you use a refillable cup that could be dirty with your lips on it first-then give you a plastic cup for your refill to pour in your refillable cup that can't be a plastic Starbucks cup and then they charge you for classic syrup on your "free not so free refill" unbelievable the corporate greed is real -it's not the employees fault but they should cater to locals and gold cards read more

I definitely love any Starbucks locations because the drinks are pretty consistent. I was a little disappointed because I ordered a pumpkin cold brew but the guy said they ran out so I got the salted caramel cold brew in grande. The guy taking my order was super nice.. The inside was clean and sold your typical desserts and drinks. I definitely love Starbucks. I noticed there was no restroom inside but there was one right next to Ross on the other side. Kind of a negative but was okay because I went after going into Ross. Parking is directly up front and around the parking lot towards the back. This is the first time I've been here that the service was unwelcoming. I walked in, wasn't greeted, waited at the register a few minutes while the two male workers talked story and didn't even bother to walk over to me. When one finally did, he just pointed to the other register that I wasn't standing at, took my order and walked away. When my drink was called, I said thank you and got no response even as I walked out the door. And every other Starbucks I've been to has always been friendly or greeted and thanked me as I left. Love this location! It's conveniently in the same plaza as Costco so you can grab a pick me up before or after doing your shopping. We stopped in on a Wednesday around 6pm. There was no line when we arrived so we were helped immediately. Both the cashier and barista were very helpful, and they recommended drinks to satisfy our cravings. I haven't been to Starbucks in awhile but my wife wanted a drink after shopping at Costco. My wife had her usual Mocha Frappuccino and I opted to try their Vanilla Nitro Brew. I was tripping on the way the vanilla moved in the coffee. LOL I guess it don't take much to amuse me. Came to this Starbucks with my sister on a whim, as we were shopping at Costco over the weekend. I liked the convenient location, as this Starbucks is just adjacent to the Hawaii Kai Costco in the same mall. The coffee store is relatively small with limited indoor seating, but there is available outdoor seating too. I must say the store in neat & clean........and if you're hungry, they do offer some sandwiches, baked goods, & treats. I basically came in here for a dark cup of coffee, and the barista was nice enough to brew up a cup just for me. Lucked out while I was waiting for my coffee as I was able to secure one of the few tables within the store. I enjoyed my cup of Joe in the afternoon, and should I need some caffeine while I'm shopping at Costco, I'll be sure to come back here. read more

Ah Starbucks. Feels like a guilty pleasure coming here even though I just grab coffee. This Starbucks is located in the Hawaii Kai Towne Center, near Costco. This is one of the smaller Starbucks that's usually best for grab and go. There are just a couple of tables inside and outside. If you're looking for a larger, sit down for hours kind of Starbucks, the other ones provide that (Koko Marina, Aina Haina, and Kahala). Even though, this Starbucks is the closest to me, it's the most inconvenient because I need to wait forever at the light to make the left turn into the shopping center, go through multiple speed bumps, repeat, and wait for another long time to make a left turn to continue my way into town. I normally go to the Aina Haina for the right turns and extra convenience. It literally takes me 90 seconds from the highway to grab and go and back. The staff here are genuinely very friendly and courteous, and make an effort to listen intently to ensure your order is correct because we know how ridiculously long an order can be. Overall, Starbucks is Starbucks. The only really difference is if the baristas can get your order correct. And they do! read more

Really nice staff and great location if need a pick me up after some intense Costco shopping. Located near the yogurt land. I flew into Hawaii on my birthday and I missed my free birthday drink. I asked the barista if it was possible to use my birthday drink (a day after my bday) and she said "no problem, I got you." I ordered an ice latte with coconut milk and then after she put my drink down the line I realized I wanted a blonde latte and she changed it for me no problem. I wish I got her name, bc she was super nice. She wished me happy belated birthday as well. Made my visit very enjoyable, would definitely come to this location again. Feeling mixed emotions about my visit to the Hawaii Kai Towne Center Starbucks today; not in a good way. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a mid afternoon pick me up. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the baristas (best described as a male with glasses and what appeared to be stitches on his forehead). He seemed nice and pleasant. We went to the cashier and then an older woman with glasses and blonde hair (I don't want to call out names because it doesn't feel worth it) came out from the back and did not say, "hi" or anything. We asked about one of their specials to see if it was still available and she said,"I guess..." in the words of one of my friends who let me vent to her,"if she didn't want to make it she could've lied and said no" lol. But anyways, she proceeded to had an unpleasant attitude when I asked for the seasonal drink and a pup cup. She then rang us up and looked at us expecting to tip her. I am sorry, but I know for a fact they make a pretty good amount of money and their tips are based on service. I decided not to tip because why should someone expect to be tipped with such a negative demeanor and to make a simple drink and a tiny cup of whip cream?! In fact she didn't make the drink. But she whispered something to her male colleague. They finished my drink and didn't call out that our order was ready. There were a few people waiting so I did not want to assume that was my order. So I waited, and waited, and waited. I finally decided to walk up anxiously and ask the mom & daughter if that was their drink. They said,"no" so I checked to see if it was mine and what do you know?! It's mine. They didn't call me when it's been done for some time. They also didn't give me a straw. They had no straws outside of the counter either. So it forced you to ask for a straw. I felt so embarrassed and almost ostracized from them. So I left without a straw. Hoping somewhere else would have a straw. But the place is we were picking up food did not have any straws. So I asked my husband to get one. He said everyone else got straws and they were nice to them. Not my favorite Starbies experience. Word to the wise with this location, they only give straws and good service to tippers lol read more

What a convenient new location at the Hawaii Kai Safeway. The Barista has a plastic barrier for protection, and as always, drinks are made to order. I opted to try a iced pistachio latte, and it was ready in 2 minutes, topped off with some whipped cream and an environmentally friendly straw, I was fueled up for some grocery shopping. read more

As a Starbucks junkie this Starbucks doesn't disappoint. I gave it a four stars only because I don't get a super sense of the employees creating a warm and welcoming environment. I really feel like it's just hi and bye service. As for speed of service - 5 stars Parking in the afternoon/evening can be a little challenging as it's a shared parking lot with Costco. But mornings are just fine. My favorite park about this Starbucks location is that they have outdoor seating right out front but also apart of the shopping center there are tables that overlook the marina and it's just a beautiful spot. read more

Went to go and get refills for drinks- some lady that works there says in order to get it, we have to sit within eye sight of store- which we proceeded to do. After being heavily inconvenienced by this rude employee, we finished our drinks and asked to get the refill. She then, like an a$$hole tells us that she can't since we weren't sitting right outside the store, where they've set their tables up, despite the fact that we were sitting near those same tables literally two feet away from them. Came this morning to get my Free reward that expires in June. I love the energy in this Starbucks! They have really nice bulletin boards that are welcoming. Anna was very friendly & competent. I told her that i have 2 free rewards, using 1 today & wanted to know when my 2nd would expire? Anna was very patient in trying to find out but the system was not working so she rebooted and tried again. I appreciate her persistence especially since there were people behind me. She could have just "dismissed" me but she didnt! That is what i called Excellent Customer Service! Thanks Anna! This Hawaii Kai Town Center location is a nice neighborhood shop. Although the area is busy with traffic from Costco and City Mill this shop is a little oasis of cool air conditioning. You can sit inside or outside watching the clouds drift over the back of Hahaione Valley and enjoy the nice trade breeze that flows off the neighboring ridge. Or, you can opt for a shaded table in the back right next to the water and relax you eyes at the sight of commercial recreational water vehicle, private boats, canoe paddlers, and even stand up board paddlers going in or out of the marina. The space is large enough to accommodate couples but not so large that groups take over the available seats. Being a smaller shop there is no private restroom. A lot of people opt to take out their beverage and enjoy the marina. Though the employees change regularly I have found them consistently courteous and welcoming. I would definitely choose to stop here instead of the busier store at Koko Marina - more parking nearby and less tourists. read more

Starbucks is synonymous with great coffee, but I'm sure that's debatable amongst the masses. I know I do come here from time to time, but for different reasons. I do love their tea lemonades and their assorted baked goods - among other things. There are 2 Starbucks locations in Hawaii Kai, one being here at the Hawaii Kai towne center and the other at the Koko Marina shopping center (that I know of). Often times, I would come here with friends to play Pokémon Go here during recent visits, since there is a virtual gym in the game that we all can gather and play. Other times, I like to come to Starbucks HKTC just to unwind and just enjoy the serenity and serendipity of life outside of work. Most of the time, I buy my tea lemonades and have the occasional baked goods and the scone to recalibrate and recapture life as it was meant to be - blessed and cherished. With that said, my last visit here to this Starbucks location was usually good. I would get a green tea lemonade and would get a seat to surf the web on Starbucks' free WiFi, powered by Google. Yes, folks, free WiFi for your enjoyment whether you're purchase anything from Starbucks or not. Just don't be an annoyance and / or safety hazard to everyone in the store and you'll be okay. I could spend hours here at this particular Starbucks just because it's too inviting and a nice space to just work on writing reviews for yelp, finding cheap deals on airline tickets, or just about anything that the internet has to offer. I do love the WiFi to stream videos on YouTube when my data plan goes over and need that fast connection that Starbucks' WiFi can provide. Starbucks can be your library for studying and I've seen many students open up their textbooks here and have a session. It's like a library but you can study better with coffee, WiFi, and nice Indy music to keep your mind from wandering. This Starbucks itself is clean and groomed meticulously for your satisfaction. The service here is good and average at the same time. They do acknowledge you, smile, and asks what you want. Same stuff you can get anywhere Starbucks is. The wait time to get your drinks is usually around 5 minutes or less. While the prices here at Starbucks are generally kind of pricey for what you can get elsewhere, it's like a status symbol in today's global climate to have a Starbucks cup in hand or at the very least, one that it is next to you. For the most part though, my experience at Starbucks in Hawaii kai has always been generally good and a nice spot to park at whenever you need a drink. The good thing about Starbucks is that the hours are very good, especially when they open at like 4:30am. Yikes! That's early! This Starbucks location is located conveniently at the Hawaii Kai towne center on Keahole Street. Nearby is Costco wholesale, which is the big anchor for the shopping center as a whole. Starbucks accepts major credit cards, which is always a good thing - as well as cash and gift cards. They sell gift cards too. The mobile app you can set up and reload it as much times as you want, makes it awesome to order food and drinks while you are at the store but had forgotten your wallet in the car or at home. The ambiance of this Starbucks is quiet, yet calming since they play Indy music from time to time just because it's a cafe and it's usually nice to sit and just chill out on a nice non descript Saturday morning. There is plenty of parking here at the Hawaii Kai towne center to suit your needs and can park right next to the store, if need to. If you are like me, the bus routes 1, 1L, 22, and 24 come through this part of paradise, so you can get your Starbucks groove on whenever you need to. Plus, Uber and lyft are viable choices too. I usually have a nice time here and it is a good alternative to a library, if you want that library feel but need to be in a Starbucks for your studies. For others, it's a nice place to meet up with friends, colleagues, or even have business meeting here. I've seen those happen while having my tea lemonades. Whatever you do, come to Starbucks, it'll brighten your day. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the service and the food. Support local! B+ read more
