I love coming to this location. The service is great and the staff is so kind and accommodating. The shop itself is always spotless!! This morning when I went in I was the only customer so I was able to have a nice conversation with the baristas! They were so pleasant! Shout out to Jessica for her great energy. I also discovered in the past year that the (iced) coffee here is better than Starbucks, it's really smooth as opposed to the bitterness of Starbucks'. It's nice to treat myself here once a week! When I checked the Instagram post for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for August 11, 2025, I was happy to see that regular-sized Matcha drinks would be $3! Yay! I liked this spacious, bright location because it's not as busy as other locations. There were customers doing work on their laptops, and they were quiet. The shared parking is free and it's conveniently situated across from Kahala Mall. Service was very efficient and helpful. When I asked for dairy-free Strawberry Matcha Latte, I got soy milk for myself and almond milk for my niece. They both had a 99 cents upcharge. My niece thought that the drink was more on the milky side, whereas other places have a stronger matcha flavor. I was wondering why I drank it so quickly... it was easier for me because it had almost no bitterness! The good thing was that my Loyalty Card was stamped with the regular price... not just 4 stamps! I came for the earl gray tea latte... it's very yummy and flavorful. Gotta love the Bergamot inside the tea. Also got an oatmeal cookie. Soft and chewy like they just baked it. Service is good. I'm a Starbucks lover only because they make a really caramel macchiato. I haven't found anywhere else that makes it better. I've tried different cafes and it'll still be Starbucks unless I go to Europe, who makes it perfect. BUT Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf makes a good frozen lemonade! And it's been so hot lately that this frozen lemonade is the perfect way to cool off or down on this beautiful sunshine day! I prefer their lemonade over Starbucks. They also make a really good lilikoi glazed cornbread muffin! It's a MUST HAVE or MUST TRY! I'd say, just get in your car and head to the closest Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I didn't a picture of it but they also sell pesto pasta. Sooo yummmmmm! We got a lihing likikoi lemonade and plantation iced tea with the $3 Thirsty Thursday deal which was an amazing deal. Both drinks were very tasty and refreshing. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has always been a place to do so and this particular location is in Kahala's Kū'ono Marketplace which is a refreshing convenience to swing by as I never had to fight to find parking. Love the vibe here as there are decent amount of tables along the wall with lots of options to pug in your electronics so that you and my phone who eats first has many chances to recharge as well. Keeping the spice in my life is their Pumpkin Spice Latte with Almond Milk is super along with a single egg white bite making it a breakfast of champion. I'm not gonna lie it seems like they were a bit short handed...only cause I'm stretched thin myself I feel for them all as there was a hiccup here myself where I see the omg look in her face that she forgotten and not that it was needed at all was truly apologetic and did a bit of something nice. I came here today to buy a drink and while paying for my drink my daughter wanted macaroons. This is my mistake buying her to dang macaroons! She ate a few and then told me that one of them is hard. I thought she meant as in it was over baked hard so I didn't think of checking. I told her to go ahead and eat the other ones. When I got home my mom wanted to give those macaroons a try and told me that the macaroons had a piece of metal in it. I went and took a look and it's HUGE! Imagine if my daughter was a lot younger and just swallowed it? I gave them a call and explained what happened. The girl who answered weren't even concern. Didn't apologize or even offer to take down my info so a manager could contact me. All she told me was I needed to contact the manufacturer. The customer service was poor from the moment I walked in, as soon as i walked in the staff seemed very uninterested, there was about three employees and not a single one on register.. It didn't seem especially busy, so the delay was frustrating and felt unnecessary. When I finally got to order, I felt the lady rushing me and when i gave her my order she started to complain i was ordering to fast and it looked like she was having a meltdown. After i paid for my drink i had to wait almost half a hour.. this was without a line and just the employees talking with eachother or just talking to customers for fun and when I finally got my drink, it honestly wasn't worth the wait. The drink tasted watered down and lacked flavor, like it had not been made properly. Overall, between the slow service, lack of friendliness, and disappointing drinks, I wouldn't recommend this location. Definitely not the experience I expected. read more

But this time I should've known my drink would not be the same when I saw the barista scoop out my drink from the blender because it was too thick to pour. Finally a coffee bean! I'm such a fan of their coffee and teas over Starbucks. Plus they have better ice here. Love the decor in here. You can tell they put a lot of effort into this store. I only come here as a last resort to study because of the location being convenient for me but besides that, drinks are mid and they have the absolute worse customer service almost every time I come in. When you first get into the strip mall, there's ample parking in front of the store. Now open signage on the front entrance, along with a white board sign to tell you that they're here! Located right next to Foodland's Kahala MKT. Upon walking into the store, it's very clean with everything in its place. There's a shelf of tumblers, teas and coffees in the back, next to an open fridge with their snacks and to-go meals, in which some of them are supplied by Foodland. There were 2 girls working this day (Sunday morning at 11am) with 4 people ahead of us, 2 more behind in line. We got our drinks in less than 5 mins. The mocha iced blended frap was on point. Not like some other locations that give a few pumps of mocha, there was a healthy amount in this one. The Plantation Iced Tea is also on point with enough tea and pineapple flavors. They've transitioned to paper straws which are quite sturdier than others we've experienced. Overall, the staff was friendly, greeted us upon arrival, and also thanked us upon departure, even apologizing for a small wait time. I think the number of people and their orders was overwhelming because I'm pretty sure we did not get the correct coffees. We visit often because of its close proximity to where we do most of our activities. This review is for only this particular visit and not the beverages (which are made consistently well). The poor barista/cashier was working alone this morning during the rush hour (at least 6 people in line the whole time I was there). She was hustling, and trying to get the drinks out in a timely manner. However, she was sweating and kept touching her face, nose and glasses, cashiering and making drinks without any pause to wash her hands after touching her face. I've been to all of the Coffee Bean locations on this island. This site consistently has the worst customer service. During my last visit they were having a conversation with the customer behind me in line. They seemed to be in amazement of her purple hair and her dog she brought in. I gave my order and the staff responded with an annoyed look and said they ran out of mocha. I asked for a caramel late but was told they were out of caramel too. (I ordered around 8AM and there was no signage of anything being out of stock/unavailable). I asked if they could make a cookies and cream drink for my daughter which they seemed reluctant to do. The staff then happily continued their conversation with the customer behind me. For some reason our drink was ready after the 2 customers behind me received their drinks. Purple hair's dog received a complimentary cup of sprayed whip cream which was ALSO made and given before my one cookies and cream drink was finished. So, not returning or recommending this location. I used to work at this exact location and this store is nothing like it used to be. The new workers are horrible, have such a bad attitude. I asked for a plantation iced tea and it tastes like there's 8 pumps of sugar in it. It's so bad, I'm extremely disappointed. When she gave it to me she shook it like it was some boba drink. I went back in and the girl with orange-ish hair walked away from me as I was trying to ask her about the drink. Some other girl with glasses who looked to be the manager, rolled her eyes at me and didn't even want to talk to me. Horrible service. Horrible drinks. This place sucks now. I used to love coming here but people have developed major attitudes over time. The coffee is still good but a lot of the workers have not been nice lately. I order online, through the Caviar app it saves me time before work. I selected heated for my pasta, and the lady gave it to me cold. She said something about she couldn't microwave it or something weird.. I have been coming to Coffee Bean for years and not once have they said that. So I told her to heat it and she apparently did but she did it half ass. It was still cold when I ate it at work! I will not continue to order here, if the workers don't appreciate business and value their jobs! For Foodland owned, you guys should train the employees better to work on customer service. My daughter and I went there the morning of 4th of July. So excited to get our coffee. I have been a loyal customer of coffee bean for over 20 years. This was my first time at the Kāhala location. We usually go to Pearl City, Ala Moana, Manoa, Ewa and the Pupukea locations which have awesome customer service which kept me going back all these years and the best mocha. I order my same drink all the time, a large Ice Mocha Latte w/an xtra 1/2 scoop of mocha. When my drink came out it was very dark looking not the usual. It tasted pretty bad. I told the girl I think you made my drink w/dark chocolate mocha. She said no that is how our new mocha is. I am pretty sure she didn't want to remake it. So I had asked her can I please exchange it for a plantation ice tea. I cannot drink the drink you made me. Three of the girls gave me such bad attitude and said they can't. I stood there in total shock. The only nice one was the blonde who was willing to remake it but the other girls with horrible attitude said no. Two girls went in the back never came back out and the other two girls ignored me. Wasted $9.00 drink!!
