I'm not sure if this was more of a function of changing locations or the chain improving their recipes overall over time. Anyway, this Daboba location is spacious with 6 booth tables + 2 standalone tables + a couple of outlets + free wifi. You can conveniently order either at the kiosk or cashier. My go-to order is the cheese milk tea (black milk tea with cheese foam on top) and black pearls (boba). I find this to taste perfectly sweet and decadent. I'm excited to try other drink options, including their honey golden pearl milk tea, vanilla coffee frappuccino, and Vietnamese egg coffee.

The pastries and treats are a little hit or miss. The almond croissant is definitely the winner and probably my favorite thing we've tried. My middle daughter really likes the brownie. She did say she thinks there may be cinnamon or something else added to the chocolate muffin because there was a flavor in it that threw her off a little. The pecan cinnamon roll was pretty good. The blueberry scone, though, tasted like it had maybe been frozen too long? I'm not completely sure, but there was just something about the taste and texture that was a little off. The savory items are good, but I do think they need to work on reheating them. The chorizo empanada had really good flavor, but the outside dough was still soggy because it wasn't heated long enough. It needed more time to crisp up. The same thing happened with the ham and cheese croissant. The bottom was very soggy, and it was only slightly warm throughout. One thing I really hope First Cup considers adding is nutritional information for their menu items. On our last visit, my 15 year old son came with us and wanted to try some things. He has Type 1 Diabetes, and having nutritional information, especially carbohydrate counts, is extremely important because we have to calculate his insulin based on what he eats. The staff did not have this information available or know where to find it. I know nutritional information is not required for every business, but for families like ours, it's not just a preference. Managing Type 1 Diabetes means constantly making calculations to keep my son safe. Without accurate information, we are left guessing, and guessing with insulin can mean his blood sugar goes too high or too low. As a mom, it's hard enough managing all of the daily decisions that come with T1D. My son should be able to go out with his family, try new foods, and enjoy a normal experience without us having to wonder if we are making the right choice for his health. Having this information available would make a huge difference, not only for people with diabetes but also for customers with allergies or other dietary needs. Even with these concerns, we really do love the feel of First Cup. It's a welcoming place with a great atmosphere, and we will continue coming back. I just hope they consider improving the reheating process and adding nutritional information because those changes would make an already great place even better.

I only paid $5.95 for my taro milk tea with boba. A drink this size would probably cost $7-9 in Bellaire. When I saw how large the cup was, I assumed that most of it must have been ice but I was wrong. Although it didn't contain anything particularly special to make it stand out, it served as a refreshing drink on a mundane late afternoon nonetheless. If you took a panoramic glance of the strip mall after parking, you'd barely notice this shop over the more lavish, modern-looking DaBoba a couple stores down. DaBoba undoubtedly looks nicer and offers more traditional food options associated with milk tea (e.g. popcorn chicken), but their drinks are significantly smaller and more expensive. Therefore, it didn't surprise me to see Oh My Tea still receiving a steady, albeit smaller, influx of customers on a Tuesday. In summary, a great option for boba but not so much a place to hang out.

I used to frequent this place while in college to study. Now I drop in every once in a while to try their new items out. Now to August they have a summer menu, from which we got the lemonade pie, cookie butter latte and tres leches latte. The tres leches latte was okay, it was just milky coffee which considering its tres leches seems about right. I preferred the cookie butter latte as it had a stronger taste of the flavoring. Although I will say we got two cookie butter lattes one with oatmilk one with regular milk and in the oatmilk one the cookie flavor was much more prominent so I would recommend getting oatmilk in it, if you decide to try it. The lemonade pie was really though, I always enjoy the baked goods they have. We went through the drive thru, and were the only ones in line at the time so we were greeted and serviced fairly quickly.
