Who doesn't love Starbucks?! We all do. However, can we love it more than we already do? Yes! If it's worth 5 stars. This Starbucks is always packed. The staff are normally friendly and polite. My only concern is cleanliness. The first floor is constantly packed with people who are loud and messy. Cups, straws and everything else that blows in the front door lays on the ground. Now the bathroom- full of tissue on the floor, dirty and never stocked on paper towels. The second floor is where most obnoxious people come to be loud and not respect people's space. The garbage cans usually aren't cleaned and overflow to the point where garbage falls to the ground. I think if Starbucks raised their standard on cleanliness it'll be a much more enjoyable place to visit. read more

Waiting for a plane to arrive and this is definitely a perfect place to wait it out in. It's a great Starbucks. It is roomy with plenty of seating and space. One of the greatest features is a cute fireplace that you can sit by while sipping on those holiday drinks. Also, there's cushioned seating along the wall which really is a plus if you plan on staying for a while and don't want to be in pain from hard stools. And under those seats there's outlets every few inches, which is heaven sent when you have to charge your laptop or phone. I've always had a pleasant experience at this Starbucks. I always order coffee on the app for takeout, and my order is always ready by the time I get there and it's correct. The only downside is that this location seems to run out of a lot of the food options I've ordered before, but Starbucks customer service is always prompt at getting back to me and refunding me for it. Seems like a very busy location, so it's not surprising they run out of food and some coffee so quickly. The staff is always friendly about it though and the coffee is great! I will give this location its stars based on the location itself. I am not a big Starbucks fan...I always feel like the coffee is burnt. Anyways a few years back I used to frequent this place before I became a coffee snob. It is a very nice building with two floors and plenty of room to grab a seat and read,drink and enjoy the cool central air in the summer or the heat with a fake fireplace during the winter. If it is nice out, take the drinks outside to the waterside patio area and enjoy the views of spray on tanned Gotti wannabes shining up their BMWs. Always makes for a great time. While nice, I did not think that the staff was anything amazing. They are the usual college ot high school kids just doing there job. Not knocking them at all, but I will not say "wow such amazing service". Its in a great location on Cross Bay Boulevard with plenty of dining options around so this location could also be a great dessert location after dining at nearby Prima Pasta, New Park Pizza or Lenny's Clam Bar. read more

Thanks Gabby for listening, I tried to be discrete in voicing my displeasure because I know the job can be hectic and who wants to deal with a jerk for a customer. Coffee was made by Drew today and it was fine. Gonna hold off on making any changes to my rating until I see consistency. Updated 11-9 I am downgrading to 2 stars because for the life me I cannot understand why a simple coffee request can not get fulfilled. Got my coffee this AM, trusting it was done the way I want it; get on the Southern State and sipped it only to find out that I did not get a Venti Americano with Streamed half n half. How difficult is that to make. Very, very disappointed! Initially, I was a bit frustrated with this Starbucks because twice they did not get my coffee right and I was thinking of giving up on them. But they have grown on me. Overall, the staff are hard working and nice. A few standouts include, Saul and Amanda. They are the ones that have really kept me returning. They both have an upbeat personality and greet their customers with smiles and positive attitudes. A positive attitude from anyone making my coffee is a must. I like a good cup to start the day and I abhor having my coffee made by someone in a foul mood. The staff has gotten to know me and I them. Yesterday, Dorie (hope I spelt her name correctly) showed me where the coffee and water level for my coffee was in the cup before adding the steamed half n half, which meant she is paying attention to my requirement. Dorie, you have no idea how much that made my day. So thank you very, very much for that. 5 stars for you! It is this level of personal touch that makes a business stand out. So keep it up folks your customers will love you for it. Overall, the place is spacious. The upstairs has two sections. Inside with ample seats and power outlets and an outdoor deck. The outdoor upper deck provides a nice view of Crossbay Blvd as well as the canal that comes in from the bay. This next bit might not be important for most people but for folks like myself, this adds to the sensory experience. The canal hosts a number of birds, including Herring, Great Black-backed and Ring-billed Gulls. Some waterfowl can also be seen there - the usual suspects, such as Mallards and American Black Ducks. Inside there is plenty of space to sit. Do note, there is a regular crew of jibber, jabbers who take over one section and have discussions on just about anything. Fascinating to watch if you are into people watching. Despite that, there is another section there too with benches and tables. Maybe noise canceling headphones might be nice to drown out the blathering, otherwise it is doable. There is also seating outside - a few tables with chairs. Overall, this Starbucks is well laid out and provides an awesome experience. The staff deserve a lot of credit for keeping it clean and staying on top of what can be quite a busy place. This is my second best Starbucks I have visited in the county and I have visited some of the biggest including the crown jewel in Seattle. read more

Everyone and their mom literally come here. It's almost always crowded and you definitely have to order ahead of time. Order at least ten mins ahead. I just have to mention one experience I had today. There's this new girl I've seen for the second time in the past month. Usually people come and wait for their name to be called or check the names on the cups. This girl, Mia, made it seem like she doesn't want you to check the cups for names. She had my coffee and held it saying I have something else coming. I took the coffee anyway. I was waiting for about ten mins and asked her twice where the other order is. She asked me the second time if I ordered it separately and then said maybe I never ordered it. How are you going to tell me I have something coming and then you're telling me I didn't order at all. I showed her the receipt on the app saying I ordered everything at the same time and she said she'll tell them in the back. I got my other order a few mins later. I was there for 20 mins (not exaggerating) and I've never waited that long. I just didn't like the experience and her weird service. I ordered a PS CRÈME Frappuccino through mobile order. When I got there I instantly knew it was made with coffee. I told the young lady I wanted this WITHOUT COFFEE. She took the drink made it over 10mins later she calls my name and handed me the same drink with COFFEE in it. At this point I'm stunned! I didn't have the time to wait. Probably the best Starbucks store I have been to. The store itself is huge. There is a main area where you can place your order with some limited bench seating. You've also got a large upstairs seating area where you can touch down and do some work. The upstairs is very quiet and accommodating. Perfect for getting work done or studying. They've also got an outdoor seating area downstairs and upstairs. Bathrooms also on both floors. The store was fully staffed when I went there and they were super friendly and the orders came out quickly. Honestly can't say enough good things about this shop. read more

This is one of my favorite Starbucks: it has a parking lot, beautiful view of the canal and plenty of seating. It doesn't matter what time of the day you come here, there is always a line. The majority of the time I order on the Starbucks app for faster service. Great staff, if they get your drink wrong they will re-make it no questions asked. If you're a regular they know you on a first name basis. With the amount of people in this place they need a bigger parking lot, I've seen people park their cars on the sidewalk. Sometimes I have to park at the Gold's Gym or even further the Stop & Shop parking lots. read more

Unfortunately though we made it to the beach my pain level increased dramatically so we had to go home! Going into this Starbucks we both got bit about 6 times a piece which is why we didn't take pictures of the outdoor lounge. All we did was walk in and got all of these bites on the way in. It is on the water and is swarming with mosquitoes. Other customers were complaining about it as well. It is not the fault of the store at all but just a heads up with West Nile Virus in NY and so many mosquitoes there it is a concern. read more

Not really a coffee drinker but yesterday I decided to try a Carmel Frappuccino. I took a couple of sips when I noticed a long red hair in my drink, immediately took it back to the barista who told me to get back in line for a refund. Supervisor at the register then asked if I wanted a refund I replied yes my drink had a hair, her reply was "I don't care about the reason, which drink am I refunding". Her total disregard of the hair in my drink is a direct reflection of her own personal hygiene and that of the Starbucks of which she supervises. read more

I can't believe I'm reviewing Starbucks again. I'm more reviewing this particular one and I won't get into the products because it's the same lattes and fraps you find at all of them. It's right on the Crossbay and faces out on the water so you can watch the nice chill in the air dissipating as the sun starts to warm the day up while drinking your overpriced latte and if it's nice enough out you can go upstairs and sit out on the balcony. I love going here in the morning and hanging out with my laptop or a good crossword puzzle. Apparently, everyone else in HB does too. this place has such a devoted following that puts all other Starbucks cult followings to shame. There's the Emo boys in the corner with their hoodies, and HP laptops and the guy that works out the horse-racing statistics on his Mead notebook but my favorite is the little group of old men that congregate here to tell jokes and grumble about their wives. I heart them best of all. Sadly, I never seem to be able to snag my own table at around 8:30 and i have to sit at the communal table which makes me feel that I've seriously lost some cool SB points. read more

This is the nicest Starbucks by far with 360 views of the neighborhood and the water. There are two floors, and outdoor furniture on both levels when the weather allows. It looks like a giant beach home converted into a Starbucks. I used to frequent here to write papers for school and got to know the staff and the locals which are both entertaining and friendly. It's the best of old & new Howard Beach/Lindenwood all converging to drink coffee and hang out. Saturday nights might even produce an intense chess match or a game of backgammon. The beverages are always made properly here. Only issue is parking is tough and the occasional annoying kids will breeze through on bikes. Otherwise a great location. read more

As with most business in the HB area parking is a mess, this location as a parking area but unless you are in during the wee hours of the morning it is usually packed. So I stick mostly with the side metered parking which also can be quite the zoo. Anywho, the location is beautiful, plenty of seating outside and inside. There is a nice upstairs quite area and doors upstairs that also lead to a water view of the bay. Truly, beautiful. They just opened up after renovations and the set up of upstairs is pretty neat! However, Idk what happened today. I guess new update and new staff. The new staff is just soo angry. Specifically the supervisor. I order a latte and Coffee cake , though it was busy I got my latte at a good time and I stood there for 30 mins waiting for my coffee cake. Found out through another order that they didn't have anymore. I wanted to ask her about my cake since it was taking so long but her demeanor was so not inviting.
