Everything was open, the shelves, you could see into the kitchen, everything. It looked like the owner was pulling out fresh scones as soon as we walked in the door and setting them out to cool. We ordered drinks, a breakfast sandwich, and one of the blueberry scones. The owner was the only one working and there were a few others ahead of us. So, it took a while for our orders to be ready, but she brought them out as soon as possible and with a smile. The owner is friendly and makes you feel like family. You can tell she loves what she does and puts it all into her business. The blueberry scone was made with local blueberries and had a perfect moistness. My boyfriend liked his frappe and my friend's son asked for a second bagel. Everyone was happy!

I think this is an interesting place but I think if I was local, this wouldn't be my usual spot. They truly cater to people who have an adventurous palette and like trying new things, which limits the kind of guests you can attract, or friends you can bring along. They were also pretty greasy, and my stomach wasn't a huge fan by any means. I ordered them with hard shell tacos, which was an upcharge, and they tasted way overcooked. All told, I just didn't enjoy the dish. The chips were extra salty too. I heard the rice was good though. I'm probably being generous with a 3-star rating, but I'm hoping it was just a bad night for them. It does seem like this spot is hit or miss based on other reviews here.
