Was there today for coffee. As I mentioned previously we seem to have an abundance of coffee shops…read morein the area so I'm surprised they all survive. In this case I've been here before and the place was packed. Location is just across from Stony Brook University so I could understand but today there was minimal activity. A variety of coffees which I had no complaint with. Okay let's cut to the chase. The interior has an industrial look which is pretty common today, but at some point I looked up to see the exposed HVAC ducts which are painted a cream color. The problem, the tops of the ducts were caked with dust. Major turn off. When someone opens the door to come in or out I have to imagine the breeze, or today the wind, disturbs the dust/dirt which then has the potential to end up in my coffee or food. Again with so many coffee shops in the area I'll be going to one of them. But to be fair I'll check back to see if they get the message

She'd been asking me to come for years and a few months ago we finally made it. On her own she goes all the time. Now we go together whenever I'm off from work as a special new tradition. They have the coolest creative lattes and teas like a peanut butter & jelly one, lavender etc. I'm also obsessed with their soap! (The coffee one though. Def a matter of opinion but I wasn't crazy about the scent of the orange one. I had thought I liked it in the store, but it didn't smell good on my body. Maybe doesn't mix well with my body's natural scent or something. Or maybe just me bc I kept feeling like I smelled but no one else thought it smelled bad lol. They offer a variety of fresh baked goods, wraps and breakfast sandwiches. Get there early for the breakfast sandwiches, as the need to be reheated in microwave later in the day. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but the lines can be long as the espresso machines are manual, producing a superior product in comparison to the national chain, but it can take some time when people are ordering Carmel Latte's and other specialized drinks in front of you. Sayville is lucky to have two independent coffee shops. I always prefer locally owned and managed. Give them a try, even if line appears long they manage to move people through fairly quickly.

I ordered the French Vietnamese Au Lait along with a sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. I never thought I'd wish I lived in Smithtown until that moment. If you're someone who isn't used to drinking coffee, do yourself a favor and don't order the quad version and then wonder why you're awake all night!
